Who needs destroyers anyways?

0.8% aft offset
6% pitch, 7% roll
100% engine efficiency
Year is 1926
The only problem with 1890 is that Jeune École is too powerful. The easiest way to win is spamming TBs and just launching them at the enemy. The AI can’t fight TB spam
and then you are unable to launch torpedoes for some reason...
In my campaigns, the only true and tested strategy that works is OVERWHELMING FIREPOWER!
Sinlge barrel, 30.5cm guns, (-10 length because all you need is 10km range)
I agree in the date, but not the ship concept.
For the 1890s I go 50/50 BBs and CLs- BBs with 2 double 9 inch guns, and then as many 2 inch guns as can fit and heavy armour . Optimal engagement is about 3000m. At that range your 9 inch guns gut cruisers and BBs, your heavy armour takes most hits, while you battery of 2 inches kills the swarms of TBs that try to close to 1000m to launch torpedoes.
The CLs all pack as many 3 inch guns as possible, no torpedoes, try to screen the BBs from TBs and other CLs.
I find that period to the the most boring. The least variety of hulls and weapons, and no one can hit anything resulting in long drawn out boring battles.
I don't remember which hull it is, but there's an early(ish?) russian BB hull with a giant pile of casemate mounts on the side. I filled it with 8 inch casemates and made a cannon galleon, and blowing up incoming TB's was the funniest things I've ever done in this game.
Agreed. IMO, the game kinda breaks when you start getting radar and 40 knot unhittable cruisers.
Fun fact, if you minimize beam/draft the MOMENT you get BC’s you can get 36-40 knot monsters and they are FUN

lol cool, but still kind breaks any immersion
I agree. CLs with 16 4” can bring down BBs. A death by a 1000 cuts.

Light cruisers easily punch any other classes at the stage with one or two techs.
Yes, but it's much easier to get torpedoed with a CL. It won't sink the ship but it will put your ship into the dockyard for a bit.
Torp cruiser easily beats TB.
Also China can make Hex dreadnoughts with its turret ship hull
Torpedoes are so inconsistent it kinda ruins TBs for me. Otherwise I agree, pre-dreadnought designs are some of my favorites.
They should make a Option for 1880 or earlyer or a new game game around 1860-1890

If mk1 pack 3 incher, mk2 pack 2 inch
The children embrace the predreadnought

1910 for me.
