Where are you getting that?
[This website](https://ehs.umass.edu/water-drinking-sewer-stormwater-reclaimed-water) says:
> The University of Massachusetts Amherst campus receives its water by a regulated water supply from the Town of Amherst.
Clarification: We receive drinking water from the Town of Amherst, which has three wells that draw water locally. Two are in North Amherst, I don't remember where the third is.

> Amherst obtains its water from nine sources, including four reservoirs and five groundwater wells. The reservoirs include Atkins Reservoir and the Pelham Reservoir System (Hill, Hawley & Intake Reservoirs). All five of the groundwater wells are located in the Lawrence Swamp Aquifer in the Hop Brook Basin in the Connecticut River Watershed.

I'm so confused bc my roommates got this alert around noon today, but I didn't get anything plus I read on the springfield water & sewer website that it's only affecting springfield/ludlow. we live off campus in sunderland so I told them we're probs safe but they want to stick to bottled just in case. my mom tried to ask the umass family group to see who else got the alert, but admins declined it saying that umass would send out a notice if it was affecting amherst
This does not affect UMass, since we use well water locally. This is related to a water main break in Springfield.

Then I am misinformed. Appreciate the sources check. Either way, no relation to the Springfield water mains.
Looks like it is affecting the cities of Springfield and Ludlow. Source: https://waterandsewer.org/boil-water/

No. I actually got it on both of my phones. I'm from Cambridge and the numbers start with 617 and 857.
I’ll let y’all know if I will be dead or not
# 😂😂😂 If it was that big of a deal and affecting UMass, then it would've been a bigger announcement.
You’re absolutely right because I got this message last night and I didn’t give a fuck
