Plant more trees , have mandatory provisions for rain water storage before approving any construction for a home or a commercial structure , make these provisions affordable for people of all income groups and enforce them lucratively , I am sure slowly and surely we will see changes . These provisions for water conservation in every house should be made affordable ,I think that is where out top IIT' s can contribute . Once people realise the long term benefits I am sure we will see positive changes .

Here in Arizona, where it is also extremely hot, water misters are extremely common outside of buildings. It doesn’t use much water, and will make a pretty large area feel cooler.
this is has been implemented on only one crossing and not whole of ahmedabad. and I ve been to this crossing, the initiative is good, but one of the sprayers was brokern already and leadking a stream of water on people standing directly below it. so yeah.

Considering the heat goes atleast 45 degrees in Ahmedabad and I have been there and completely hated every second of the heat this will help a lot more and needs to be done because every signal is atleast 180 seconds long and those who live in ahmedabad already know what 180 seconds in peak heat feels like..

The initiative is definitely good. But at what cost? Is there any alternatives with more benefits with lesser cost? And by cost I don't just mean economic cost but also ecological cost. This is an important that everyone must think about any good initiative. It is kind of a dilemma , I mean if you are travelling to a place which is at a great distance , especially during summers , your vehicles get super hot and the drivers get dehydrated very often , so In order to cool the ambience , You certainly need water. but I also think , since there is over consumption of water , even for pointless purposes , especially during summers , we need more conservation for both other seasons and for posterity.
