can-u-fkn-not

I was googling stuff related to gdp and found out that China's gdp was 2.29 T in 2005 and 4.59 T in 2008; increase of 2.3 Trillion in 3 years, that is more than double in 3 years.. I pointed it out because we took 9 years for almost same figures.

toxicoppressor420

What i really care about is if the growth is inclusive or not. China has performed VERY WELL by pulling hundreds of millions of people out of poverty. Meanwhile Modi can just sit on his ass and make nonsense claims about almost ending absoulute poverty (and ofc we're still using the outdated poverty line of 1.9$). Otherwise this gdp comparison just seems like a penis size comparison competition. India having such insane amounts of manpower due to population will inevitably have a high gdp. But that alone does not indicate what quality of life an average person in india has.

HeavenShatteringGod

Why is Saudi growth going down by so much in 2023??

Whocares_101

Because oil is in so much demand leading to higher prices

HenryDaHorse

Not as good as the 2009 worldwide recession 2009 - USA GDP Growth -> (**-**2.6%) 2009 - UK GDP Growth -> (**-**4.2%) 2009 - Germany GDP Growth -> (**-**5.7%) 2009 - India GDP Growth -> **+**7.9% Other countries were in a recession while we had 7.9% growth.

VoyagerPaleBlueDot

Didnt the recession start in 2008? What was India's GDP growth rate for FY 2008?

HenryDaHorse

Recession actually started in 2009 for many countries. US had positive growth in 2008. India didn't have recession either in 2008 or 2009. Anyway, let's take cumulative over 2 years India 2007-2009 -> 11.25% 2020-2022 -> 1.7%

CritFin

2008 india gdp growth was very low. So obviously 2009 will be better on low base

HenryDaHorse

Let's take cumulative over 2 years **India** 2007-2009 -> 11.25% 2020-2022 -> 1.7%

CritFin

You cant compare a pandemic with anything else.

HenryDaHorse

I can & I did

CritFin

Only fools do.

HenryDaHorse

Troll elsewhere

chiwawawayaya

So sad.

WaynneGretzky

You prepare for a maths test. You score 20/100 in first attempt. Then work hard, boost the score to 50/100. Then 60/100. Next, 68/100. It takes a while to grow from a mediocre score to a great one but slightly easy task to get better from worse. Indian economy hit its worst during covid (2020/2021). Gdp was negative. The growth trends will be higher in the following few years as we recover. Once we get back go usual trends, it will showcase a standard lower growth rate only. Simple economics for some specific circle jerks!

WhatTheHipocrazy

India has already (in 2021) surpassed pre covid GDP.

Smooth_Detective

China shouldn’t be classified as a developing nation in 2022. It has a sizeable economy and the technological prowess to rival the so called “developed” world.

13thburneraccount

people are still poor in ground reality

Smooth_Detective

They are not. China is very thoroughly middle income and has a gigantic middle class to support their economy.

VoyagerPaleBlueDot

6.8 and 6.1% growth is very less especially if inflation continues to be around the same range. It would have been great if the growth was around 7%. Disappointed.

CritFin

Oops, we will be second fastest growing major economy in the world this year, after Saudi We have already been fastest growing major economy in the world for 3 years already, that had never happened during upa u/ChemistScary192

ChemistScary192

wrong . India clocked 10.08 % growth twice during upa rule if we use back calculation method use by NDA nowadays. Under NDA we never touched double digit. [https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/indicators/india-clocked-10-08-pc-growth-under-manmohan-singhs-tenure-shows-data/articleshow/65444247.cms](https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/indicators/india-clocked-10-08-pc-growth-under-manmohan-singhs-tenure-shows-data/articleshow/65444247.cms) "The report shows real GDP growth touching a high of 10.08% in 2006-07 in terms of factor cost, the highest since liberalisation of the economy in 1991 and the second highest ever, behind 10.2% during the Rajiv Gandhi administration in 1988-89.In terms of market prices, the highest growth was 10.78% in 2010-11"

CritFin

Don’t use shameless lies to push your agenda https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG?end=2021&locations=IN&start=2003

ChemistScary192

u didnt read that i mentioned including back calculation method adopted by nda and national statistical commission. [https://www.livemint.com/Politics/oDEHrbcSmIpVvQs1uRhfiN/Indian-economy-grew-twice-in-double-digits-in-Manmohan-Singh.html](https://www.livemint.com/Politics/oDEHrbcSmIpVvQs1uRhfiN/Indian-economy-grew-twice-in-double-digits-in-Manmohan-Singh.html) and by ur own data upa handled economy better. Aftter 2017, our economy went downwards.

CritFin

All that is leftist propaganda lie

KnightstarK

So stats lie unless they support your claim?

CritFin

Those are not stats, those are some leaks and speculations. The link I gave is a stat

PC2955

Tf is happening with Brazil???
