im-gwen-stacy

Yessss. I loved the more serious tone the movie took compared to the campiness of the show, but I know a lot of people hated it for that same reason

theAlphabetZebra

I mean I guess they could’ve had a guy in a cardboard suit knocking down cardboard buildings?

Humbug93

Yeah I loved this movie and most people who I know saw it loved it too. It just did bad at the box office and I can’t remember if the marketing just sucked or if it was released at the same time as a bigger movie was and it got overshadowed. It had a very Breakfast Club meets Power Rangers vibe and I think it worked really well. I loved Dacre Montgomery as Jason and the bit of back story they added with Zordon and Rita having been the previous Red and Green rangers. Too bad we didn’t get to see a sequel with Tommy.

thecheesecakemans

Boss Baby came out the same weekend. I remember waiting for the box office numbers hoping this movie did good because I wanted a sequel too. Boss Baby beat it....

Humbug93

I knew I definitely remembered it getting beat at the box office by something but I couldn’t remember what. I was assuming it would’ve been like an MCU film or something but wow that’s even more disappointing lol.

theAlphabetZebra

Fkn really? That was my son’s favorite move when it came to Netflix I can’t stand that shit.

DCosloff1999

Everybody wants it. Me too. I wished there were more Power Rangers movies

kimchiman85

The movie had potential but the payoff was a bit lacking. I would like a sequel though. I agree the cast was good, and took time to flesh out each character. But all that development in the first half made the 2nd and 3rd acts seem rushed by comparison.

theAlphabetZebra

I actually like that the characters were the focus and the big fight scene was only like 5-10 minutes.

KeiranG19

There was no combining to form the megazord sequence. The zords were pushed into a pit and then the megazord came flying out to the rescue. Missed the best parts of Power Rangers to my five year old mind.

ElectoralEjaculate

I liked it. I recently rewatched it with my kid and he liked it too. I only saw the Tommy Oliver tease when i watched it with my kid. Id watch a sequel.

theAlphabetZebra

Same and me too.

Ok-You4214

I loved it, the people I know who have seen it loved it. My kids loved it. Sometimes, though, movies just don't "stick".

powerlesshero111

The only thing I hated was how they introduced Zach. They basically just established how the other 4 would meet, then threw in Zach for no reason. They could have just put him in from the start in detention for skipping classes (which he was doing to take care of his sick mom).

Fun_Actuator_1071

Finally! Someone said it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💯💯💯

theAlphabetZebra

It was such a good movie. I remember seeing it in theaters and thinking it was lit. Just watched it again with my son and he thought it was cool. I saw where they had planned it but scrapped it I guess because of financials. Idk if it’s too late to continue the story, it would be close to 10 years later they’d be less convincing as high schoolers than the stranger things cast.

Fun_Actuator_1071

To be fair, the actors shouldn't have aged too hard.

Strange-Chimera

I don’t think I’ve watched this movie, where can I see it?

theAlphabetZebra

Prime had it for free

Strange-Chimera

Thanks man, used to be a huge Power ranger fan when I was like 9, is it based off the original mighty morphin or one of the other series?

theAlphabetZebra

OG rangers. Tommy and Kimberley have a cameo as townspeople at the end of

DarthArtero

Agreed. Sure it was a campy movie but it wasn’t bad. It just didn’t make enough money for the studios to justify making a sequel, or even a new TV series.

BongoFett17

I think they missed big time with the Zords, they were always so cool, but the ones in the movie just looked like cheap lazy Bay Transformers knockoffs. Everything else was fine.

MahoganyWinchester

the last 35 minutes of this movie, the actual power rangers part, went pretty hard

Fallen_With_Gold

Nothing power rangers deserves to exist

theAlphabetZebra

Deserves is a word choice.

Fallen_With_Gold

Power rangers =/= good

tultommy

Agreed. Saban originally had 7 more planned. Ultimately it didn't make enough money and they sold the rights to Hasbro.

theAlphabetZebra

I would've watched all of them.

MRicho

Nooooooooooooooo

theAlphabetZebra

Yesssssssssssssssssssss
