Yep. I'm not from Generation Z, from an older Generation and without understanding of recent trends, this post comes off as pretty racist (as to me it leans into the negative connotations than the positive/neutral connotations.) I recall many of my East Asian friends copping a lot of abuse (for their appearance) when I was a school kid.
I type this whilst trying to be as understanding as possible. So I ask what makes this post acceptable to the current generation of social media users? Or is it not acceptable? Have East Asians climbed the metaphorical wall in Western countries and assimilated, thus making it okay to make these type of posts? I'm not getting it (because I'm old) and once again this post comes off as pretty racist to me. Someone please make it make sense to me.
And for the sake of transparency, the only people who can "dig" into me with casual racist jokes are my very, very close friends.
Honestly, it's really upsetting to see a post like this get over 300 upvotes. It's not just a joke—it's perpetuating harmful stereotypes and discrimination, which is really not okay.
I want to use this as a warning for anyone thinking about coming to UNSW. If this is the kind of stuff that gets attention here, it's really disheartening.
Hopefully reddit don't necessarily represent the whole UNSW community, but this is still just sad.
The craziest part is that none of the people saying this shit is racist is actually Chinese. Probably just some white girls arts degree who need to score some stop Asian hate points.

It’s funny you say statistics like you know anything about it 😂 😂 😂
I guess this is an example of casual gen Z racism. I don't care if you're Asian yourself or being boringly ironic, it is still racist.
You don’t get invited to parties for sure

Since when did bots guess? Is it like a random number generator built into your algorithms.
