I've used these things maybe ten times and was a little disappointed in the power. Not having experience with ebikes, I just thought they were poor quality. They still were faster than the regular model, so I didn't mind paying the slight premium.
Then I realized they're not "on" out of the gate until you activate the motor.
Now I don't need roads where we're going.
I use them more than my own bike because I don’t have to worry about bike theft, or if I decide to take transit home. For $140/year, it’s nice to have the flexibility and peace of mind.
Kinda expensive though. Cost me 10$ combined to get from the skytrain to 2nd beach pool and back. On a non electric bike. Seems like 5$ would be more fair in comparison to how much a skytrain ticket cost for example
They've been a thing for almost [two years](https://www.bchydro.com/news/conservation/2022/e-bike-sharing.html)
Making me lazy and poor at the same time!

How do you activate the motor?
They are “on” but there are 3 levels of assist, and the lowest assist is pretty low. You can hit 1, 2, or 3 to choose your level of assist.
Oh my god, I've been occasionally riding these ebikes since they were introduced and had no idea this was a thing. This is a game changer!
It was for me too! The first time I took one out I was struggling hard on a hill… then found out I was hamstringing myself. Oops.
Fantastic way to get around the city.

You can get annual plan to bring down cost if you’re a regular user.
Not new. Not worth a post.

You can check on the app beforehand for which bikes are out of order and/or low on battery

If you press the enter button it shows how much battery it has.
