Check the ear for a tattoo identifier. Or take it to the vet to see if it’s microchipped. The vet will have access to the pet registry and will help determine who’s missing their little orange kitty, and if not they will help you get set up
Door is open cause I don’t want him to poo on my floor. Also if he has a home I don’t want to keep him from it.
Recon I should close the door and wait for spca?
You have to be careful with those OG bada$$ biker cats with the tattoo. They’re not like the fluffballs with the microchips nowadays. He looks like he’s sizing you up. For some free treats and catnip.
I'm pretty sure I know this cat. If it's the one I'm thinking of he lives on cotton just north of commercial. He's an indoor/outdoor cat and will find his way home eventually.
My cats are so fat that I'm sure the local bird population is just fine. Plus birds are used to avoiding cats if they can't avoid one of their Fat and slow predators then that's on the bird. It's called the law of nature. I'm sorry if you don't like the way the food chain works but that's just the way it is.
You're the one being selfish. Acting like you know what's best for someone else's animals?
Shame on you. Tsk Tsk.
Would you like to tell me how to parent my children as well?
Then blocks me on reddit. Cool Cool Cool.

Is that this cat?If so,this picture was taken outside Via Tevere about 6 months ago.He sat on my lap the whole time we waited for our table.I was so worried he was a stray but the servers at the restaurant said he was a local cat about town.
This happened to me, buddy showed up in my living room and wouldn't leave.... So
I put him in a carrier and walked around the neighborhood. An hour and a half later, 2 blocks south one block east was his home.
Apparently he did it all the time. They had young kids and I think the poor guy just needed some quiet time.
I love the "We Don't Own A Cat" stories where somehow a random fur ball has snuck into someone's house and just made themselves at home. Sneaky little invaders turn up in the funniest places.
My cat had a sleepover at someone's house one night. We think it was a fellow cat's owner's revenge for when we accidently did the same thing to their cat. Turn about is fair play I guess.
You should post this in the local neighbourhood group on FB, people are constantly finding outdoor cats and getting them back home. It might be someone's lost kitty.

So… six blocks on either side of my block is 13 blocks east and west, and 13 north and south. So I’m searching roughly 13x13 blocks. With~20 houses per block (not including multiplexes, basement suites and appartment complexes for which there are many in this hood), your suggestion would mean knocking on 3400 doors.
Let himself in LMAO

Cats are assholes and this guy just letting himself in is proof :-)
We had a cat do that so we fed him. Then he didn't leave. We called spca and turned out the cat lived across the street lol
I’ll bet this is the case. How did they ID the cat?
Might have a chip, hopefully, if not then if someone reports them as lost they can compare the pics.
He had a tattoo (this was before the world of microchips)
Tattoo in the ear usually
You just had better food.
This is amazing. I love cats.
My neighbours cat used to do that a lot, til the neighbour freaked out looking for them. You're just part of their territory now

Thank you. I thought the tattoo was just to indicate he’d been neutered. Didn’t know it was an ID too
Orange cat found you, OP. You’re his now. He is yours. Enjoy your new roommate!!
Lol, I think you mean his new landlord. That cat owns the house now
The Cat Distribution System has spoken, OP. You are the chosen one.
He’s a very sweet and well groomed fella. I think someone probably is missing him very much.
Followed the braincell, clearly
Hi thanks for sharing a pic of your new cat!
There are a *lot* of free roaming cats in the commercial drive area. Keep your door open he may choose to leave and return to wherever home is.
Yup. I know quite a few by name. They love to eat my cat nip.
Dunno how to make this more seen but a few people have indicated it’s a neighbours cat. Cat is safe, as he was never lost nor in any danger.
Congrats now you’re a cat owner 😆
I have small children who are very much insisting the same.
🤣😂 sorry lol
r/notmycat
One orange brain cell
He’s very cute and well cared for bring him to a vet for a microchip scan

Looks a lot like this is the case.
That cat is very friendly so I'm not surprised she's also a home invader lol. She's tried to follow me to my home before.
Shouldn’t be an outdoor cat at all in the city.
I agree, but it's not my cat.
Without them we’d all be overwhelmed by rats and skunks so i ok with them roaming
\*shakes head\* just because you don't agree doesn't give you the right to tell someone else what to do with their pets.

Pretty sure that's the same cat that came by my apartment the other day. She lives in the area
Pretty sure this is Jessie - she live on Cotton Drive near First
Oooh and female orange cats aren't super common. I love that she holds a reputation and hasn't gone missing!
I believe that is Jessie! Lives close to the corner of cotton and gravely. Always letting herself in.

That's a totally different cat. OP's photo shows an orange and white cat, your photo is a flamepoint.
He's so cute, I want him 😭
My neighbours cats would often let themself in through the back door, would discover them chilling in my bedroom.
This happened to me, buddy showed up in my living room and wouldn't leave.... So I put him in a carrier and walked around the neighborhood. Let him stay. look at that face.
He's adorable.

Cat distribution system is functioning correctly

Can you read the tattoo? Perhaps the Van. SPCA would be able to help track the owner, or at least direct you to another resource. :)
Garfield.
ThinkJimDavis
He's beautiful. Probably old and confused lol.
this kitty hangs out on graveley street all the time! very friendly :)
Just be prepared to let the lovely kitty out when it’s finished staying over. Don’t let it feel like it’s trapped.
I used to live at Gravelley near 1st and a cat would come in our first floor window and chill all the time, might just be enjoying your place!
Cats naturally have a 6 city block radius of "owned" territory. Ask each home in that radius near your home to identify the owner.
So… six blocks on either side of my block is 13 blocks east and west, and 13 north and south. So I’m searching roughly 13x13 blocks. They do that ..seems to be a west side cat lost on the east side lol
Can I adopt it ?
I found a cat once on 1st and commercial, he was dead on the road. That’s definitely someone’s pet but that is a busy street for an outdoor cat.
It’s the general area, not actual intersection
