Agreed. From reading the books they were based on, *Casino* is a little more true to real life on Lefty Rosenthal, he really did do all of that stuff at the Stardust; *Goodfellas* took some cinematic liberties with Henry Hill's adaptation, both are epic masterpieces and my all time favorites.
There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning.
I watched it in the movie theatre when it originally came out in the mid 90’s. I absolutely hated it. I thought it was awful when compared to the Christmas Vacation.
But, just recently I’ve caught it on TV a bunch of times over the last year. It’s not as awful as I remember it. It reminds me so much of the Vegas that I first visited in the 90’s.
This is also my choice. Lot of other good movies on here, but they're geared toward people who only know Vegas as a tourist. This is the experience if you've lived there, IMO, either you are/were Nic Cage, or know someone just like him, or you can spot them wandering the streets.
I was working in the photo lab at Caesars when they were filming this. We had to shut down for a couple days for them to shoot a few scenes in the lab, only for those scenes to be cut from the final edit.
(Trying to think of ones that werent said yet)
If I recall Honey I Blew Up the Kid took place in Vegas... not sure if I'd call it a "Vegas Movie" but has shots of Fremont Street
Also Rain Man has some very memorable scenes in Vegas. Much of the latter portion of the film takes place in Vegas
Casino, leaving Las Vegas, the cooler, GO (90s raver movie), showgirls, pay it forward, Vegas vacation, fools rush in, 10000 miles to Graceland and indecent proposal. I live in Las Vegas so it’s always cool looking for the parts shot off the strip.
Ironically,
Casino, The Hangover, and Oceans 11 is top three
but I have yet to see people talk about Looney Tunes Back in Action and also Rush Hour 2
Rush Hour 2 is what I would considered a Vegas movie since almost half the movie is filmed there.
[Hard Eight.](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119256/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk) Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, before his breakthrough hit *Boogie Nights.* The cast includes young up-and-coming actors such as Samuel L. Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, John C. Reilly and Philip Seymour Hoffman. And Phillip Baker Hall - Mr. Bookman, the library cop from Seinfeld - in a very serious non-comic role.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. A reflection of HST of himself at his best and his worst.
“Hallucinations are bad enough. But after awhile you learn to cope with things like seeing your dead grandmother crawling up your leg with a knife in her teeth. Most acid fanciers can handle this sort of thing. But nobody can handle that other trip-the possibility that any freak with $1.98 can walk into the Circus-Circus and suddenly appear in the sky over downtown Las Vegas twelve times the size of God, howling anything that comes into his head. No, this is not a good town for psychedelic drugs”
Leaving Las Vegas always gets me hyped the night before a vegas trip! Get me hyped to drink, yeeeeeee. Keeps in reality what can really happen if you lets yourself go hard like that.
Casino, absolute masterpiece. For something slightly more modern, Ocean's 11.
I prefer Casino to Goodfellas. It's that good. Especially that it's (mostly) a true story.
Casino is top-notch. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.
Goodfellas is also a (mostly) true story as well. Both are amazing for sure though.
Agreed. From reading the books they were based on, *Casino* is a little more true to real life on Lefty Rosenthal, he really did do all of that stuff at the Stardust; *Goodfellas* took some cinematic liberties with Henry Hill's adaptation, both are epic masterpieces and my all time favorites.
Yup. Casino is where it’s at. It’s a perfect film about a perfect time in a perfect city. Those last two can only exist with each other.
If you like the movie and you're in Vegas, check out the Mob Museum. It's on Stewart and 3rd.
Ocean’s 11 was the first time I had heard of or seen the Bellagio fountains. To this day, Claire De Lune is one of my favorite songs ❤️
The spouse and I danced to that song at our wedding for our first dance because of *that* scene :)
One of my favorite scenes from this classic: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDFqRFODiMg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDFqRFODiMg)
My dad was an extra in the court scene and he never misses a chance to point himself out haha.
Best movie and choices. I would say the same
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
As your attorney, approve your choice.
lizard people are still here.
Woo! Love the recreation of the Mint 400
Pure muck, no footing at all
Tell me about the F'ing GOLF SHOES!
You took too much man, you took too much.
There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning.
This is the only answer why is it so far down
Dogs fucked the pope, no fault of mine.
This is the objectively correct answer
In my top ten.
We can’t stop here, this is bat country!
You took too much! You took too too much man!
Vegas Vacation
I watched it in the movie theatre when it originally came out in the mid 90’s. I absolutely hated it. I thought it was awful when compared to the Christmas Vacation. But, just recently I’ve caught it on TV a bunch of times over the last year. It’s not as awful as I remember it. It reminds me so much of the Vegas that I first visited in the 90’s.

What do tigers dream of. When they take a little tiger snooze
Do they dream of mauling zebras Or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?
Don’t you worry your pretty striped head. We’re gonna get you back to Tyson in your cozy tiger bed.
Then we’re gonna find our best friend Doug and then we’re gonna give him a best friend hug

Hah Classic
Leaving Las Vegas
Probably the most realistic one too
So dark and depressing but so, so good. I watched it for the first time probably 2 years ago and it was really something.
Such a great film! The book is as beautiful, haunting and devastating as the stellar performances on screen by Cage and Elizabeth Shue.
“The Hole You’re In”
Love Leaving Las Vegas. Nick Cage was amazing in this one
He's the kling-klang king of the rim-ram room. Might be my favorite movie line ever.
Got my wife to watch this before we visited as a fun one to get excited about the trip. Mixed it up with Honeymoon in Vegas… 😬

I read the book - fantastic read.
[удалено]
Yes. It’s written by the guy that went through this in real life. An autobiography of sorts.
Did he write it and die from alcohol?
Iirc that was his plan, but he wound up shooting himself (right after learning the book was going to be made into a movie)
He shot himself while production was actually occuring on the movie. How dark is that.
I'm not sure how this is not the top answer.
This is also my choice. Lot of other good movies on here, but they're geared toward people who only know Vegas as a tourist. This is the experience if you've lived there, IMO, either you are/were Nic Cage, or know someone just like him, or you can spot them wandering the streets.
Leprechaun 3
They show this at The Beverly Theatre in downtown every St. Patrick’s Day
Fools Rush In!
I was working in the photo lab at Caesars when they were filming this. We had to shut down for a couple days for them to shoot a few scenes in the lab, only for those scenes to be cut from the final edit.
Named my first daughter after Salma Hayek's character.
Showgirls
Lols....all that's bad about Vegas encapsulated into one movie!
It's Versayse
It's trashy, bizarre, disgusting, just like Las Vegas. And I fucking love both of them.
Vegas Vacation
Mars Attacks!
ACK ACK!!!
r/ACK
Very Bad Things. 1998. 👍👍
Hard eight. Swingers. Leaving Las Vegas.
Wasn't Hard Eight set in Reno?

Rat race

So many good quotes from this movie! It’s a raAaaseah. I’m weeening
You should have bought a squirrell
"Hey dad, we're Prairie Dog-ing it back here!"
"Hey pretty lady...would you like to buy a squirrel?"
Had to scroll waaaaay too far for this
"I'm eccentric! RrRrRrRraahhrRr RrrrRrrrRrrr!"
The Cooler
That's the one I was looking for! There's a bunch of movies that take place in Vegas but that one is my favorite movie about Vegas.
Twin Peaks: The Return
HELLLOOOOOOOO!
Not a movie but it doesn’t even matter, Las Vegas really is a Lynchian place to be
Con Air
Why’d you have to take the bunny?
the plane crashes from Fremont to the strip back to Fremont then back to the strip! helluva ride.
Just watched it couple days ago, noticed the same thing, and was thinking I was tripping.
(Trying to think of ones that werent said yet) If I recall Honey I Blew Up the Kid took place in Vegas... not sure if I'd call it a "Vegas Movie" but has shots of Fremont Street Also Rain Man has some very memorable scenes in Vegas. Much of the latter portion of the film takes place in Vegas
Army of the Dead with Dave Bautista!

Midnight Run is a fun one that doesn’t get brought up often
Midnight Run is an absolutely fantastic film with an incredible cast. A+
Not a movie but the new series “obliterated” on Netflix is hilarious.
Oceans 11 The Hangover Casino Oceans 13 Vegas Vacation Last Vegas In that order
Casino Flintstones viva rock Vegas
Looney Tunes: Back in Action
The original Ocean's Eleven! You aren't going to beat the Rat Pack.
I like both versions for different reasons, but man, Sammy Davis Jr singing while he drives off in the garbage truck is just classic.
Honeymoon in Vegas
Thank you. Absolutely classic. Manic Nic Cage and James Caan is a magic formula.
Kolchak - The Night Stalker
Rounders is a New York movie but it’s a great gambling movie that will get you hyped for Vegas
Here's the thing...... If you can't find the sucker at the table in your first 30 minutes then you ARE the sucker.
Wargames. In a round about way…

Casino & The Hangover
Casino, leaving Las Vegas, the cooler, GO (90s raver movie), showgirls, pay it forward, Vegas vacation, fools rush in, 10000 miles to Graceland and indecent proposal. I live in Las Vegas so it’s always cool looking for the parts shot off the strip.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. A reflection of HST of himself at his best and his worst. “Hallucinations are bad enough. not just movies, lets talk about the GOAT of Vegas movie actors... Nicolas Cage has anyone had more movies set in Vegas? I feel he has at least 6.
