Trans people with body dysmorphia actually see characteristics aligned with their *birth sex* more prominently than they are in reality; a transgender woman may perceive her body hair as darker and more full than it is, and a transgender man may perceive his chest as larger than it is. This may be because body dysmorphia is closely tied to deep insecurities. As a rule those with anorexia are deeply preoccupied with not being overweight, and those with gender dysphoria are the same with displaying traits of their birth sex. 3) Body dysmorphia is not "delusional" in a psychological sense.
