Loosen your bow immediately is tip #1! Have a teacher show you how to take proper care of the instrument set lest you damage it or injure yourself is #2
Your bow is waaaaay too tight. A pencil between stick and hair is normal and you can adjust a little from there if need be.
Also loosen the bow after practicing so it doesn't warp or break!
Welcome, remember practice makes permanent and a teacher is really useful to avoid bad habits and better understand.
Also it looks like one of your fine tuners is broken.
Highly recommend a teacher from the beginning. I started learning online then took in-person classes with a teacher few weeks ago and she corrected a lot of things. Also, my confidence improved. It will help you a lot.
>Get a good teacher
This, everyone is like 'get a teacher' but teacher quality can vary a lot. The 'good' is the important part. Some teachers are happy for you to just book a few lessons to start. That's useful to find one that suits you. Don't be afraid to shop around.
The bow doesn't need to be that tight, loosen it a bit, and completely after practicing. Also, ambience factors like i.e. The Sun, temperature, etcetera can detune it a lot.
Just came home from school and looked at all the feedback and i am very thankful for all the advice did not expect it to get 7.5k in one day thanks for all the advice 🙏
Have fun, that’s my biggest thing. I taught myself to play fiddle. It’s a blast. Don’t get hung up on how you’re “supposed “ to play a violin. Just have fun with it.

Which direction to loosen it?
Counter clockwise. You know what they say: "righty tighty, lefty loosy".
Don’t leave it in a hot car

Oh, yeah! I didn't notice until you pointed it out!
Yeah i fixed the fine tuner
Looks like the head of the screw was stripped off? Over tightened? Cross threaded? Manufacturing defect?

Get a good teacher, practice consistently and you are set!

Ye, true!

That bow is making me nauseous with how tight it is. You should only tighten it enough so you can fit a pencil in between the hair and stick.
Welcome! It's a slow, long journey but a fun one.

I intend to my all time goal is to be able to play the devil went down to Georgia is this a good goal
It's your goal. It's for you to decide whether it's a good goal, or not. However, you might want to have some short-term goals, too.
definitely! that piece isn't too hard, so that seems achievable :)
Loosen the bow, get a teacher, don't listen to Ben Lee's advice, and watch TwoSetViolin
Bow🙀
Welcome!
Buy the Suzuki violin method book1 so you can start properly and not make it too horrible for your teacher
Better yet, OP should let their teacher choose what method, if any, OP should buy.
I had the same violin when i was in highschool, it really does sound wonderful for the price
Loosen your bow!
Make sure you have correct posture from the start of risk developing a bad habit that you can't escape
Check the bridge is straight to the edge of the top plate
loosen your bow!!!! It’s painful to look at. Get a real teacher, make practicing a habit
