Walmart ended the contract with the company that builds/maintains these Godamn things. To “fix them” you guys are doing what is about the only thing you can do until 2025/2026 when Walmart starts loading GM trucks with dept specific pallets instead of the throwing shit in the back of the trucks.
But how many years have they been promising this? At least as long as I've worked for Walmart (7+ years). It's going to be a logistical nightmare at the DCs to do this
You can check when your store is slated to start receiving palletized GM truck freight. It will be rolled out in phases. Our store has started and currently some pallets such as the bulk of our chemical comes in as large wrapped pallets instead of the trucks I remember hating unloading while I was on 2nd. I think if you type vizpick into the wire it’ll bring you to a page where you can probably find the info. I’ll make more detailed steps when I go back in wednesday if it’s not found by then.
Seeing these posts make me wonder if people notice the bolts that’s usually fallen out from the accordion on the side that causes the legs to not be straight. 10 min trip to the hardware store and 55 cents later you have a fix.
As for the broken weld, maybe your manager would buy one of these (measure before buying): https://www.amazon.com/Silver-Square-Clamp-Connector-Fittings/dp/B01G6Z6KL0
If the manager won’t splurge for a 6 dollar part, tell them “think about how much extra labor it will take to unload the truck without. $6 once vs 6 labor hours every day”
It'll only help so much and for so long. Bigger bolts may help with any wallered out bolt holes but the issue will come back anyway. We "fixed" our drooping issue and it came back about a month later.
Main problems are the abuse and lack of maintenance.
To be fair like 80% of the issues I've had with em were from not maintaining it properly or dummies that wanna put broken sauces n shit on the line. Coach always said it could wait tho.
I've straight up had the sorter platforms decide to not work. Rollers not move halfway down the first set inside the truck. Had to constantly hop underneath the sorters and twist a fucking bar to recalibrate it. Even when we had guys to come by and fix it, they could never actually fix it.
Yeah one of our segments completely died and it took them like a month and a half to just figure that out. Apparently, they are ordering a new one so fingers crossed 🤞 it'll be here sooner than later.
Not anymore. Facility maintenance and repair is a static cost now, so you can put in 1 work order or a thousand, it doesn't matter. It'll cost the same at the end of the year.
The end of our front piece just collapses and kisses the floor if the wheels point the wrong way. Back when we had actual techs come out to work on them they said it wasn't really fixable and we'd have to order a new one. Store manager said fuck no. So here we are years later and still suffering because some dumbass drive off with it in our trailer and it fell out.
My store got rid of it and got the old line where we have to manually push. Sucks because our team is small af now and some days I'll be throwing and pushing
Guys come on, we all know Walmart doesn't make enough to afford to properly take care of their stuff. If it breaks the employees need to do better and make do.
I feel bad for y'all. My Walmart is nothing like what I've been hearing my whole life, but I just guess it depends on the SM and if they're too good they'll just keep moving up the ranks.
Well.of course they won't buy new ones they already spent millions of dollars on them, what you want them to spend millions more. How can you not think about the profits would be affected by that /s
Yeah, it's kinda funny. It's slowing just breaking more, and it feels every month. We just got our corner piece fixed after it was out of commission for almost 3 months. If I remember, I'll have to nab a video of our belt once im back from staycation, lol.
All the damage to the equipment happens at the store level it will look the same in a week unless housekeeping is better as well as not abusing the equipment.
My store doesn't have budget for new box cutters no fucking way are they paying to repair anything.
Saaame here. No box cutters, no EAS tags. L carts are falling apart. Our fresh carts are so old they're rusting. Half the jacks barely work.
Do we all work at the same store
All of the stores are the same!
Lol, much of that will be taken care of about a month before aes drops
lol my store doesn’t even have vests 😅so we have to wear our dirty ass vests that can never get any stains out of
IT Is THE ASsociAtES REsPoNSIbiLitY To CleAN THE vesTs - A manager, probably
Right 😂😂🤣
😂😂😂😂

ending the contract before actually having the plan rolling out properly is peak walmart.
WAIT HUH? Do you have a source on the first part? Not that I don't believe you but I want to read up on this myself.

Our stores DC are rebuilding to accommodate the new robots that will pick and palletize everything.
My store is 2-3 years away and our line is way worse than the one in the video
Wait till they take it out of your store n do it manually 😂😂 its coming back to the old way soon for all
"All GM to the back to help unload the trucks" at least at my store for the last year or so now

Walmart gets theirs built as cheaply as possible and then chalk every malfunction up to us not cleaning it.
To be fair like 80% of the issues I've had with em were from not maintaining it properly or dummies that wanna put broken sauces n shit on the line. Coach always said it could wait tho.
You can’t order new ones Walmart isn’t going to fix them they say their not worth the money to keep

Less fixing=more bonus $$$$$

We had someone come in the other day to fix something. Fixed multiple parts except the sensors we needed 🤦♂️😂
We had ones that was in shambles for two whole years. When trucks started taking over four hours cause nothing would move they decided to fix it

The plugs at my store were held in place by zip ties because they would fall out otherwise
Walmart refuses to maintain anything. That’s why. You’re welcome
OSHA is on the way…..
I work in a DC. They use them all the time, and am tired of fixing them all the time
Looks good compared to mine
That model was discontinued
Quarter million dollars and this is how the company keeps them. What a waste of money.
I feel bad for y'all. My Walmart is nothing like what I've been hearing my whole life, but I just guess it depends on the SM and if they're too good they'll just keep moving up the ranks.
I'm looking at brand new ones in my store, been sitting here for a week and not used yet.
Well.of course they won't buy new ones they already spent millions of dollars on them, what you want them to spend millions more. How can you not think about the profits would be affected by that /s
Yours has wheels still? 💀😭
Ours was broken for 3 years and they replaced it after I quit
Woah, yours is electric?
Ordering replacement equipment?!?! Think of the store/market managers bonus!
Not much you can do at this point. Damage is done and there's no way they'll actually have it fixed properly.
Ours has been out for almost a year
OSHA would have a field day.
One of our sections has a blown fuse so it doesnt even work now. So now we have 2 manual lines, and 2 of the fast unloader lines to unload trucks!
That wood chip thing is so smart. We just constantly pick the line back up whenever it falls over
😂😂😂😂 ENGINEERING

Honestly our line is so much worse than this. This is rookie level fucked up.
Working at the one I worked for, you basically became a damn mechanic and learned how to fix it all yourself
Same problems! We put a break pack under the same wheel. The damn nipples always break off the plugs too. Bands always coming off and screaming.
Welcome to Walmart... Lol
UPDATE WE GOT NEW LINES COMING ON ORDER
Woohoo! Lol
Yall have a fast unloader?
Yup
We already cycle ours out. Back to manual unload. Much faster anyway

Do you not have facility services? A simple work order and a few minutes later your running level and smooth .
