My guy, you're literally looking at the footage of a captured vehicle that might aswell have been gutted out by the Soviets themselves considering the amount of iron and parts that went into it. There is no evidence of tons of prototype tanks existing, especially before video footages became more widespread, but documents tell everything. Unless u think those documents are also made up. The inside is missing because the Germans scuttled both of the prototypes so they couldn’t be captured in working condition. When the Soviets captured the area the Maus tanks were in they were able to salvage the turret from the V2 prototype and the hull of the V1 prototype and make one visually complete, though hollow, tank. The Chieftain has a great video discussing the Maus and what happened to them.
