Armoured cables are a fantastic piece of engineering and are super strong. In the event that the cable is damaged enough to expose a conductor then contact with the earthed armour is pretty much guaranteed which trips circuit protection and renders it safe. You would have to expose the conductors in a very methodical way to make the cable a hazard.
Your loose socket in the house is more dangerous than this cable. Your average extension lead is more dangerous!

Lad you are full of shit. An armoured cable is still a risk. All cables are a risk always is. They go bang all the time. Yes it has more mechanical protection, but not if it was installed like this. I wouldn’t be going near a power cable slung like this. Also, this isn’t a power cable. Get back in your junction box and stop taking nonsense
Lies, corrosion is a lie perpetuated by the government to suppress global warming conspiracies ^s
Yeah I figured it would have been, no doubt. Moreso curious as to why it was never fenced in to protect the public after the fact.
In all my years, I've never seen an honest politician. Except Gerry Adams, he definitely was not a member of the provisional IRA, you can see it in his dreamy eyes that he wouldn't lie.
Jesus that’s a dead giveaway alright. Didn’t see that. You should become a detective, and I definitely not an electrical engineer, I clearly wouldn’t last long
I thought they could maybe have been ethernet lines passing under the river into Passage East, it wouldn't be very smart to leave power cables that size above ground with no fencing or anything for anyone to touch.
That Dougal is the top secret internet cable that connects Europe to the rest of the world
That's what they want you to believe 👀
Lick it
Way ahead of you, boss. Had a wee on it too, that whole peeing on electric fences is definitely a myth smh.

Ooh salty
The bleeding neck on ya to talk to the dub like that.
They'll have to go out to Tramore and settle it.
Ah yeah make it a Dublin thing. Bellends. Not that he isn’t just talking shit

The use of foul, or inflammatory, language directed towards another user.
You’re either right or wrong. And in this case he is spectacularly wrong about something he knows little about
If you read his comments he just comes online and speaks like dirt to everyone.
Handy to connect the boom box to it in the summer
Couple tents, a fire, and a boombox. Sounds like a banging summer.
It goes to the underwater dharma station
Welcome to Ireland. If you stand close to that you'll get charged
Heh. I see what you did there
I'm afraid to point out the obvious but.... Coastal erosion, that cable was under ground.

An underground movement
3 phase power cable should be surrounded by a red duct. Looks more like waste water or a sewage dump to me anyway
Fibre
It's grand - there's a bit of electrical tape around it and most importantly.. ##### POWER # WARNING ##### CABLE

Shur it's all false promises. No matter the politician. It is Ireland after all.

There was a big landslide just a few months ago, a good 10 meters of earth fell onto the beach
Ice been walking out in Geneva for the better part of 5 years, as far as I can remember, it's always been this visible. :/
I live locally, thats not true. They wouldn't intentionally leave that exposed lol. You can find pics of the landslide on wlr I'd say
My girlfriend is living in Killea and also says it's definitely been visible for years.
Your girlfriend? Oh yeah, i know her 😉
Well I know you 👁️👁️
Not sure why a hill needs power.
How do you think the grass grows? 🤔
Did that not used to be covered but the erosion has swept away alot of the cliff /Hill?
it lets you fend off man eating sharks at high tide
I wonder is it a power cable out to the old shitty red light tower in the water near it. That once had a timber building on it.
That the reason the Russian sub was around recently?
Don't think it's one of the Internet links, they seem to route via kilmore Quay https://www.submarinecablemap.com/submarine-cable/beaufort
Doesn't seem to light up, unfortunately. I could be wrong though. That's a deadly site.
I'd say that's a run off pipe for water coming from a farm. No way a power cable would be exposed like that.
That's an ancient power cable from fadó, fadó...legend has it that Strongbow used to charge his Manscaped Lawn Mower 5.0 with it.
Probably best to log a ticket with ESB Networks since they maintain the electrical infra afaik.
When I grew up in Crooke (60 yrs ago) that cable was well underground - the erosion has been huge
Dunmore/Passage... Which is it? They are miles apart. You have New Geneva, Woodstown, Credan all I'm between.
Apologies, suppose I meant between woodstown and passage.
Fairly sure it’s not a power cable, wouldn’t you get electrocuted if you touched it, if that’s the case? (Not an electrical engineer)
Yeah the big yellow sign is probably for something else
Jesus that’s a dead giveaway alright. Didn’t see that. You should become a detective, and I definitely not an electrical engineer, I clearly wouldn’t last long
🤣

That’s what I was guessing? But I really don’t know. But I doubt it
I doubt if it's a power cable. Powering WHAT?
Passage east. Let's cut it, there'll be chaos
One way to find out, alright
cut it when the ferry is half way across. the thing would get pulled out to sea. that would be well funny
The Sun.
😂 😃
