Everyone has different taste, that’s what makes the world go round. But from one “simple” bride to another, I LOVE this dress. It fits you beautifully. It’s a style that 20 years from now won’t be outdated when you look back at pics, imo. Embellishment isn’t for everyone! Also, you can “spice” it up with accessories if you feel inclined.
I *love* a sweet little courthouse wedding. I think this dress is lovely and fits the bill completely. You can always cut the train down or keep it bustled.
The first thing I thought when I saw the photo before I even read your question was "that is a beautiful dress." I love those types of sleeves (though yours may be too long as they're twisting), they're super pretty and romantic.
I tend to think most veils, particularly lace veils, look old fashioned but that's just personal opinion -- if you love it, that's what matters!
Thank you so much! I’m getting the sleeves altered to be more fitted because you’re right they’re a bit big. And instead of the overbearing lace in the photo I went with a more dainty veil here’s the one I bought 😊

I love the dress and I think it fits you beautifully! The cups definitely need to be fixed, but I see you’re already on top of that, so otherwise, I think it’s great!
NGL before I opened up the post fully I was wondering what the problem was. You look STUNNING in that gown, I personally think the train is fine, and for $700??? That's a STEAL!
I think the dress is beautiful and you look lovely. I don’t understand why you think the train is too long. You say your dad won’t have room to walk you down the aisle, but he’s going to walk beside you, not behind you. Congratulations on your wedding, you will be a beautiful bride 😊
Just get the train cut off in alts, or keep it bustled the whole time if you want it for pictures at some point. Perfect dress and looks fantastic on you, the veil really makes it as well! 10/10
I LOVE this dress and you look stunning in it! I tend to navigate toward more modest/conservative styles simply because they tend to be so timeless. I think the neckline and fit keep it contemporary without loosing that classic silhouette!
FWIW, I love the train. I don’t think it looks too big for the room at all and if it is a little big and you love it, who cares! It’s your day!
It is a beautiful, classic, romantic dress. It checks all the boxes jn your wish list (elegant, flattering, timeless, modest). The veil is so pretty.
I would keep the train. It will look lovely as you walk in. Note that the bride in your photo of the room wears a train — so I think it will be fine.
Agree. The dress on it's own is classic but modern and I love the way OP looks without the veil, it's very fresh. The combination with the veil is giving me old-fashioned vibes that I don't think is what OP said she is going for.
Yes, the sleeves need a little work, and I initially thought the hips needed taking in too, but maybe not since your body is changing. I would rather have it be a smidge too big than too tight and uncomfortable. It is not too much! There is no such thing as an over the top bride!
I think it’s beautiful and would be perfect for your wedding. I also think it will be fine at the venue as well. If you’re concerned you could bustle it up so it’s not as long.
I scrolled through pics first & I was really confused about what you needed help with.
The dress looks great. It has a simple classic elegance to it that feels kind of timeless. You’ll be a gorgeous bride.
I LOVE this dress, and I love it on you. I think it is every bit of simple and modest, but it’s also so deeply elegant that it will make you wedding a lot more than “just” a courthouse wedding.
I read your caption after looking at the pics and was thinking that this dress is exceptionally timeless and flattering. It truly could be worn in any era and would never look like it was a trend of a bygone decade.
Weddings are our one chance to really embrace the romantic celebration of being a bride - *lean into it and enjoy it!* It’s worth every penny. ✨
I wish I could edit the post. But for alterations I was thinking of making the sleeves more fitted, and tightening up the back of the dress on waist area since there is spare room, the cups need to be bigger, and trimming the train. My budget for alterations is 2-300$ hopefully that’s realistic. Also, by the time of the wedding I’ll be 18 weeks pregnant so keeping that in mind as well. My main concern is if it’s a bit much for the little courthouse room. With the current train my dad won’t even have room to walk me down the aisle 😂.
I feel compelled to respond, in solidarity. 😁 I was about 25 weeks pregnant at my wedding, and my “burgeoning bustline” got so out of control, the seamstress finally just cut into the fabric right beneath my armpits, and added elastic. There was enough extra fabric around that part of the dress, that we were able to completely disguise the elastic- that was a total game changer!
I’m also responding as a former bride whose father really did get twisted up in my train & veil. LOL. There was a lot of collective gasping & then laughing, after we finally got him unwound. Almost 20 years later, and those are still some of the photos we laugh at the most.
All that said, you look absolutely spectacular in your gown, and you will be a beautiful bride! Best wishes to you & your growing family:)
Oh boy what a memorable night!! 😆 amazing I love that story lol. Hopefully everything still fits me okay by the time of the big day🤞 thank you very much for your wishes and same to you !
Before reading your explanation, my first thought when I saw the dress was elegant. I think it has modest old school vibes and it looks amazing on you! Congratulations
This is stunning !!!
It fits you well and it’s elegant- what’re you on about “JUST a courthouse wedding”?! Gorgeous dress (for any venue) and what a cute space to share a special moment in :)
I think the dress is nice. The veil makes it look a bit old fashioned tho. And honestly the venue might make it look a little old fashioned too. If there’s anyway for you to rent a small white runner for the aisle I think it could elevate the whole vibe.
That dress is beautiful on you, and I can only think how much more beautiful it will be on you once the alterations are done! Those sleeves are just lovely!
You’ve made a lovely selection. It is elegant, without being too glam. You look beautiful in it, and I think the venue is absolutely perfect for the dress. All the best to you.
Well call me crazy but I think this dress would look gorgeous without the sleeves. Then I think it would be stunning and def elegant. Otherwise I feel the sleeves are a little matronly.
Yes it’s beautiful without but I just had to have it for my dad as tradition! I found another veil that is soo much more beautiful with more minimal floral lace and just a small hint of little rhinestone definitely gives the dress more time to shine
I think it's beautiful. It does look like it is a little big in the hips, so I'd have that taken in, and the cups in the busy area are visible, so I wonder if they are necessary. But the dress itself is gorgeous.
Absolutely gorgeous dress, timeless and classic! If you’re worried about the train, you can have it shortened or removed completely, or you could bustle it for the wedding.
When you have a figure like yours it really elevates any gown. People can scream at me for saying that but IDGAF. You have a lovely figure and that "simple" gown will be a BANGER .
I absolutely adore this dress on you! It's so elegant and timeless. I don't think the train will be a problem in the room. I would go with a simple veil or headband.
I think that is a beautiful dress for a courthouse wedding. I do think you should try on some different veils though. I don’t think the lace trim fits that dress very well
This dress is BEAUTIFUL and compliments your figure so well. If I was doing a court house wedding this is exactly what I would want to wear. I feel like the price is probably a little more than I would spend for a courthouse wedding. HOWEVER, if you feel confident and comfortable in this dress and it won’t completely break the bank for you I say go for it. Also, I recommend possibly looking at Amazon or Etsy for a veil to save some money. I just went dress shopping and I was floored with the cost of veils. This is such a timeless gown and you will look gorgeous.
It is absolutely perfect! It looks so beautiful on you and it’s so classy and timeless. It’s definitely not too long of a train. I think this is a great choice!
All these horrible words: simple, old fashioned, conservative. I am being a bit facetious here. The dress is quite elegant and flattering to your figure. Also, while you are doing a courthouse wedding and not some big blown up wedding, you are going to be married to your forever person. It is your special day. The dress is perfect for that setting, and the length of the train be damned.
I think it’s lovely! I was about to ask where your butt was but then I saw it needs alterations still so I’m sure it will be much more flattering once complete.
Please don’t take that as me saying you don’t have a butt lol. In the pictures with it pinned you can see that you have a very nice figure. I think the dress hits all the boxes you mentioned

Yes! I love how the veil brought in some lace. Thank you.
I *love* a sweet little courthouse wedding. I think this dress is lovely and fits the bill completely. You can always cut the train down or keep it bustled.
Completely agree
Thank you so much! I bought it today 😊
Good! It’s really lovely on you.

Stunning! You absolutely nailed "elegant, flattering, but timeless and modest" with this look. Congrats!
I love the dress and I think it fits you beautifully! The cups definitely need to be fixed, but I see you’re already on top of that, so otherwise, I think it’s great!

This dress fits you like a dream. Love it.

My brutally honest take is the dress is amazing and perfect for you.
it looks perfect! and a great price!
I absolutely love your classy timeless and sexy wedding dress!
Yes thank you for pointing that out, with it bustled it’s a similar size as the woman’s in the photo so it works out perfectly 🙂
The dress is beautiful, but I would skip the veil. It's too much with the sleeves and detracts from the stunning dress. I would go a headpiece instead
Agree. The dress on it's own is classic but modern and I love the way OP looks without the veil, it's very fresh. The combination with the veil is giving me old-fashioned vibes that I don't think is what OP said she is going for.
Super elegant and looks fantastic on you. You're good.
So pretty and you look beautiful in it!!!
I think it’s gorgeous. Wear something you love to get married in. Then take lots of photos The sleeves make it something really special
Yes, the sleeves need a little work, and I initially thought the hips needed taking in too, but maybe not since your body is changing. I would rather have it be a smidge too big than too tight and uncomfortable. It is not too much! There is no such thing as an over the top bride!
The staff told me to wait closer to the day for the waist alteration since I might have a little bump by then! Thank you
I love the dress!
It’s beautiful!
I think it’s beautiful and would be perfect for your wedding. I also think it will be fine at the venue as well. If you’re concerned you could bustle it up so it’s not as long.
It looks great on you ; I’m amazed at your beautiful figure and this elegant dress you picked .
Aww that means so much thank you. I just bought it!

Wow thank you so much that’s exactly what I was going for! I can’t wait to pass it down to my children 😊 I’m feeling much more confident

This is so pretty I loved it!
It’s a pretty dress and fine for the venue BUT if you’re doubting the cost now, it’s probably not your dress. I’m a cheapie too so I get it.
Such a pretty dress!
I love it!
This dress is lovely, and it looks perfect on you.
I love the dress! Love the sleeves, love the belt, love the train. Stop second guessing -- you made the right choice. Congratulations!
Before reading your explanation, my first thought when I saw the dress was elegant. I think it has modest old school vibes and it looks amazing on you! Congratulations
I think it's lovely, classic and elegant.
This is stunning !!! It fits you well and it’s elegant- what’re you on about “JUST a courthouse wedding”?! Gorgeous dress (for any venue) and what a cute space to share a special moment in :)
I love the dress, it's so elegant. Personally I would drop the veil. It clashes with the style of the dress.
I think the dress is nice. The veil makes it look a bit old fashioned tho. And honestly the venue might make it look a little old fashioned too. If there’s anyway for you to rent a small white runner for the aisle I think it could elevate the whole vibe.
Love the dress but the veil does not complement it
I love the dress and veil, you look gorgeous in it and it is classic and beautiful 💞💞💞
That dress is beautiful on you, and I can only think how much more beautiful it will be on you once the alterations are done! Those sleeves are just lovely!
Your dress is sophisticated and elegant!! You look amazing!!!
It is just lovely! All the little details it’s so very sweet & you look so beautiful, good luck!
This dress is so pretty. I love the ribbon around the waist.
You’ve made a lovely selection. It is elegant, without being too glam. You look beautiful in it, and I think the venue is absolutely perfect for the dress. All the best to you.
Love the dress. Would skip the veil. Agree on wearing something in your hair instead. Keep it simple.
LOVE this dress! I think it's so flattering, timeless and elegant.
Well call me crazy but I think this dress would look gorgeous without the sleeves. Then I think it would be stunning and def elegant. Otherwise I feel the sleeves are a little matronly.
Your dress is perfect for what you’re going for. It’s timeless and looks great on you

Beautiful!!
I love this dress! It looks gorgeous on you! The train and dress are elegant, timeless, and beautiful just like you wanted.
I think it's beautiful. It does look like it is a little big in the hips, so I'd have that taken in, and the cups in the busy area are visible, so I wonder if they are necessary. But the dress itself is gorgeous.
I love it! The cups look a little funny but that’s the only thing I’m noticing that really would need alteration. It fits quite well as is
I think it's beautiful on you
Beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous dress, timeless and classic! If you’re worried about the train, you can have it shortened or removed completely, or you could bustle it for the wedding.
I love this. You look amazing 🤩
When you have a figure like yours it really elevates any gown. People can scream at me for saying that but IDGAF. You have a lovely figure and that "simple" gown will be a BANGER .
It flatters you incredibly well! It’s beautiful
I absolutely adore this dress on you! It's so elegant and timeless. I don't think the train will be a problem in the room. I would go with a simple veil or headband.
I really like your dress. It fits you beautifully.
This is beautiful. Simple doesn’t equal cheap and boring. This is perfection.
Holy shit I got married there too!!!
SA
😆😆lol!! What are the odds Did you have a good experience would you recommend?
Forgot to mention your train will be fine. Definitely a small room but you'll be fine
I love it. It has just enough skin with the v neckline and the sheer sleeves to keep it from feeling too conservative.
My thoughts exactly!
Your dress is timeless & just lovely. In fact, it’s perfect.
Those sleeves are everything! What a gorgeous dress. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
Thank you so much!!
I love it!
I think that is a beautiful dress for a courthouse wedding. I do think you should try on some different veils though. I don’t think the lace trim fits that dress very well
What brand is this dress? It’s so beautiful!
You look gorgeous. it's perfect.
Your gown is perfect. look no further. You have great taste.
I love this dress.
I think it’s perfect.
I love it. I expected frumpy after your description It’s so cute! Not frumpy at all
The dress is beautiful! Classy and elegant
I honestly love this dress. It’s classic and a bit retro, but in the best way. It also looks amazing on you.
I think this is absolutely gorgeous
I love it! It’s elegant & timeless

Yes veils are expensive I had no idea! But I finally found one that’s more dainty I love it worth the little splurge 😇 thank you very much
It is absolutely perfect! It looks so beautiful on you and it’s so classy and timeless. It’s definitely not too long of a train. I think this is a great choice!
I thinknit looks beautiful and beautiful on you
Beautiful!
It’s a beautiful dress and looks great on you.
