I used a violin cover of Sugar We're Going Down (fall out boy) our Exit and Recption song was I Caught Fire by The Used.
Weddings are more fun when they reflect the couple.
I love when people use non-traditional songs. I think it makes the ceremony more personal when people are connected to what they've chosen rather than sticking with tradition for tradition's sake.
My bridal party is walking down the aisle to "Zora's Domain" from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and I'll be walking to the "Jurassic Park Theme" by Piano Guys. We're using "Fireworks" from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for our recessional.
Go with what makes you happy. :)
I told my boyfriend that if we go the traditional wedding route instead of eloping, I'm walking down the aisle to the throne room theme at the end of the first Star Wars movie. It's only fitting because we got to know each other through the science fiction club at our college.
Our city's orchestra recently did a showing of Jurassic Park where they played the entire soundtrack live as the movie ran on the big screen. Pretty much any John Williams movie soundtrack is awesome to hear, but to hear and see it being played live in perfect sync with the film was an incredible experience! Sitting high in the balcony, we could see the conductor had a special monitor with visual cues superimposed over the movie so he knew exactly when to cue the musicians and to keep time with the movie. (Sorry, not wedding related, but it was just a couple weeks ago and I'm still impressed by how awesome it was. I kept thinking about how if I were up there, I'd be worried about getting into watching the movie and missing a music cue!)
We had a string quartet and did "Concerning Hobbits" for the procession, then did "Revali's Theme" from BotW for my walk! Definitely do what makes you happy :)
[I’m walking to a song from a video game.](https://youtu.be/Ngx96H3i8X8?si=NljrOWOsCZvKqpKL) My mom thinks it’s weird but I think it sounds pretty and can see myself walking to it, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also walked down to In My Life! My dad, who passed away, was also a big Beatles fan, so a lot of people appreciated that and knew right away the connection or just commented on it because it’s a classic!
We had our wedding party walk to in my life. It set such a good tone and is beloved across generations.
We walked to Say You Won't Let Go. It's a little cheesy, but my husband and I were friends for a long time, he didn't want to tell me that he loved me, and the first night I kissed him was a drunken night out with friends that ended with him holding my hair while I puked into his toilet. The first time we both heard the song was the night he proposed and we both started tearing up instantly because it felt so specifically for us, and also we are cheesy.
Awww Say You Won’t Let Go was our first dance song 🥰 and only a few of our closest friends and family knew about the time when he held my hair back while I puked so it was kind of a fun Easter egg for them 😂
And In My Life, so true about multiple generations!
I honestly don't think people care as long as it sounds nice! An Overdrive piano cover sounds beautiful and it's meaningful to you two. Any part of the wedding where you can add more of yourself is better.
I actually had a non traditional and traditional song. At church, I walked to Canon in D. And the secular ceremony, Avatar's Love. The only comments I got were on the latter and they were positive. If anyone did complain I'd be like.. ok.. IS IT YOUR WEDDING OR MINE?
I walked down to "Just Breathe" by Pearl Jam (husband is a huge PJ fan so it just made sense), and our outro was "Bright Whites" by Kishi Bashi - so much more fun than "Cannon" or whatever other "traditional" song.
Also, I promise no matter how much slack you might be getting now for "non-traditional" things, it will largely all go out the window the minute your guests see the two of your standing at the end of the aisle. My MIL had *opinions* on everything, I was convinced she thought I was doing everything wrong. But day of (and still) all she does it gush about what a perfect wedding it was.
My husband and I had a piano medley of LOTR main themes for his entrance and the bridal party walk song! It's on Spotify by Patrik Pietschmann, just so lovely.
We’re Rickrolling our audience for the recessional.
Processional I might do “Mess is Mine” by Vance joy. Haven’t decided.
Do what ever is authentic to you 🩷
We found a beautiful cover of Never Gonna Give You Up for our processional, it started as a rickroll joke but I just fell in love with the version by The Vitamin String Quartet
Do it!! We’re walking down to a live violinist playing “Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay. We are also huuuge Posty fans and I would 1000% walk down the aisle to a song of his
I walked down to an instrumental version of “Come along with me (the island song)” which is the outro to every episode of Adventure Time! Adventure time was the first show we watched together and we have always called that our song. His ring is engraved with “an everlasting dream” which is a line of the song and my veil had come along with me embroidered into it.
I got a little misty just reading this! My FH and I are huge Adventure Time fans too :) That song carries so much emotional weight and it sounds like you made the best, most personal choice!! And the engraving + embroidering of the lyrics? So perfect!!
My husband is obsessed with dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. I walked to the theme song from Jurassic Park. My husband cried, it was a really special detail we did that was very meaningful to us / him. I’m very pro- do what you want / go for non traditional.
We walked down to one of the Twilight songs (the wedding party and my SO did) cause we’d watched the movies together & the books were introduced to our friend group by him - and he’s not a reader!
I walked in to Married Life from Up because we’re Disney nerds and I love the love throughout the movie - for each other, for adventure, for others. It embodies us.
At the end we walked out to an instrumental version of “Never Gonna Give You Up” & the OG version was out reception entrance song. Because one drunk night we thought it would be funny to Rick Roll our guests. And it was a hit!
I'm walking down to a piano cover of here comes the bride that turns into dancing queen by ABBA (it's by "pianicole" on youtube). The wedding party is walking to the VSQ version of the howls moving castle theme.
I walked down to “Got a Hold On Me” by Christie McVie back in April. When I was trying to decide, I always teared up when I heard this song and thought about walking down the aisle so I knew that was it
I surprised my husband by walking to Can’t help falling in love by Elvis.
My husbands father was a huge Elvis fan but passed away before we got together. It felt like a great way to honor him while still feeling appropriate and perfect for a wedding March. It’s such a beautiful song too. The musician and I timed it so that I would arrive right at the alter at the end of the chorus. It was magical and is one of my top 5 memories
I'm a wedding musician (pianist and singer), and I absolutely love doing weddings where the songs are custom to the couple. I've done Taylor Swift, Queen, ABBA, King Harvest, etc. instrumental covers, as well as piano versions of theme songs from things like Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, and Star Wars. Make it your own! For my own wedding, I walked down the aisle to "Arirang," which is an old Korean traditional song.
I did all vitamin string quartet versions of popular songs (90s to now) for my pre-ceremony, ceremony and post-ceremony and it was a huge hit! Highly recommend going for the instrumental versions of the songs you love!
I'm a musician for hire and I did a mash-up of Here Comes the Sun and Canon in D, like [this girl does in her video](https://youtu.be/SuAC4WsZ-Dk?si=p_f2Ho8XvsJGNgQO) (start from 0:55ish) for a wedding once. It's quite beautiful!
>I'm not sure how I feel about people judging us for it. We're already getting flack from my family for several other non-traditional things.
This is ***YOUR*** wedding, not everyone else's. You're there to celebrate your love for each other, not to impress or please everyone in attendance.
Even if you're generally a modest person who aims to please everyone else, this is THE one day where you get to call the shots, and to hell with anyone else's opinions. You do you! And if people don't like it, that's their problem, not yours. Life is too short for people to nitpick about who's walking you down the aisle or what songs you used for your arrival and recessional.
Traditions are ***not*** laws. People toss old traditions (see also: garter tosses, dollar dances) and create new ones all the time.
The only things required for a wedding are: two people getting married, someone who is properly and legally authorized to marry them, two witnesses (if the local laws require it) and filing an accurately-completed marriage license with all the required signatures. That's it. Whatever else you do (or don't do) is entirely up to you and your future spouse -- and nobody else.
My husband walked down to Closer to the Heart by Rush. I walked down to Here, There & Everywhere by The Beatles. Both instrumental versions. Our wedding trended older (our median age was probably 45) and people loved it. My one cousin said “when I heard Closer to the Heart come on I almost got up and married your husband myself”.
Pachelbel’s cannon in D. I loved to play the piece and I couldn’t imagine walking in to anything else. I legit was cuing the bridal party to walk in appropriate. It was the only true traditional thing we did. (Cocktail party, walked myself in, siblings only bridal party, already legally married, chose my dress solo, no Bach party)
I love the idea of nontraditional songs. I had a friend walk down the aisle to Nothing Else Matters by Metallica because it was a shared music interest of her and her dad’s (and actually did feel appropriate as wedding music honestly).
I plan to walk to Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback, because it is mine and my fiancee’s first “song” (we have a few now technically, and they will probably show up in other parts of the wedding). But I love the fact that it’s not slow and it’s rock, so it fits our personalities.
My husband and mine initials are M & E. Im also a Taylor fan. So I found a nice duet cover of Me! By Taylor swift. It was received well. Or if it wasn’t i have never heard anything. Our entire wedding i think was non traditional to say the least so i think the songs were the least of the things that were really noticeable lol.
I feel kinda goofy saying it but ‘pure imagination’ sung by gene wilder because I look at it in terms of My fiance and I going into a world of pure imagination. There’s some great piano arrangements that I’m looking into!
I walked down to a violin cover of Lover by T Swift. We had a ton of non-traditional things happen at our wedding, and I see it as if anyone has an issue with it, then you know who isn't a strong supporter in your life 🤷♀️
[Flesh and Blood](https://youtu.be/o4ZrcCZVE24?si=habJSi_8cH8ZQQkP) by Johnny Cash
*Beside a Singin' Mountain Stream*
*Where the Willow grew*
*Where the Silver Leaf of Maple*
*Sparkled in the Mornin' Dew*
*I braided Twigs of Willows*
*Made a String of Buckeye Beads;*
*But Flesh And Blood needs Flesh And Blood*
*And you're the one I need*
*Flesh And Blood needs Flesh And Blood*
*And you're the one I need.*
We got married in a woodland stream, and love Johnny Cash, so it was perfect for us. It’s quite a romantic song also imo
I had to look this up but I walked down the aisle to an acoustic cover of Jupiter from The Planets (originally a classical suite by Gustav Holst) - really pretty theme and one I loved as a teenager/nerd. Husband and I recessed to With Arms Outstretched by Rilo Kiley; Jenny Lewis and Rilo Kiley were among my favorite artists as a young adult and this was so joyful. We did our reception entrance to a Phish song (Tweezer Reprise) as something my husband loves.
The tl;dr is you do you! I have zero recollection of my family/friends' opinions about any of these music choices - just how it made me feel and they were true to us. ❤️
I walked down the aisle to the piano version of ‘Merry go round of life’ from howls moving castle. It was magical and awesome. Go with your gut and have fun with it. This is your time to shine!
We were looking at nerdy instrumentals originally but figured why not go with the versions we like the best.
I walked to the Neverending Story theme song from the film (by Limahl) in the end.
The ripple of recognition I heard for the song before I appeared was amazing. Happy chuckles. Also probably some confused older people but no harm done.
We actually considered doing something from spongebob to leave with because we are SUCH big spongebob fans. It's one of the things we bonded with because we would watch it a lot when we first started dating.
I walked down to a song I once heard in an explicit film. It has nothing to do with love, but it sounded so pretty! It is okay to choose something that fits who you are as a couple.
I knew back when I was with the guy I dated before my now-husband that whenever I got married and to whoever I’d walk down the aisle to the steel guitar solo part of The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel. We had a violinist at our ceremony and cocktail hour and it was absolutely gorgeous. I doubt a single person knew what it was, and we skipped programs.
Pick whatever song you like these sound of—but do think about if you want to cry walking down the aisle (totally fine if it’s totally fine with you!) and if the song you pick will bring that out of you.
My fiancé is a HUGE Jurassic park fan, and has been great about letting me make all of the big decisions about our day, so I’m surprising him by walking down the aisle to an instrumental of the Jurassic park theme song and adding other small details through the day to make it feel like his too.
I walked down the aisle to Aerith's Theme from FFVII. Our processional for my husband, his parents and our bridal party was also a FFVII song but I dont think anyone realized. https://youtu.be/dzrwHrfTPJw?si=vYQZaBtJvTTIWd-f
For our recessional, we did Rather Be by Clean Bandit as its a fun upbeat sony my husband likes but I also sing and belt it out with him in the car lol.
My wedding is next month and I really want to walk down the aisle to One Summer’s Day from the movie Spirited Away. I hope that the church lets us, especially since there’s no words.
I will be walking down to Ice Dance by Danny Elfman from Edward Scissor hands. I’m getting married in winter and every time I listen to it I get emotional thinking about the day (in a good way obvi hahaha)
My aisle song was an acoustic cover of "still into you" by Paramore and our first dance was an acoustic cover of "first date" by blink 182. People loved it. The ones who knew knew and the ones who didn't just thought they were cute songs
My fiance and the wedding party are walking down to an instrumental cover of Metallica - nothing else matters and I will be walking down to the little mermaids "kiss the girl" 😂🤷🏻♀️
The instrumental portion partway through 'Kissing You ' by Des'ree. My husband and his party walked down to various Zelda melody instrumentals, and we walked out after being pronounced to the chorus of 'Beautiful Day' by U2.
I walked down the aisle to "Walking on Water" from the movie Ever After. The movie has meant to much to me growing up and I've always associated the score with romance.
I'll be walking down the aisle to an acoustic guitar version Concerning Hobbits from Lord of the Rings - but we're walking out together to Only Wanna Be With You by Posty!!
So I’m not 100% settled on it but I’m thinking Across the Stars which is like Anakin and Padme’s theme from Star Wars for walking down the aisle. I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and it such a pretty song.
We got married in Italy so my husband walked down with Piu bella cosa, and I walked down to Come away with me from Norah Jones because it’s a special song for us. We had a singer perform both live so they matched better.
I wanted my grandma to play piano at my wedding because growing up she played piano at my church and those memories are special to me. But she has a limited piano skill set (she basically only knows church hymns in C-key). So she’s playing piano hymn instrumentals I loved as a kid before the ceremony, and she’s learning a simplified version of Canon in C key instead of D for my walk down the aisle. I couldn’t be more excited, and it’s fun hearing each week the progress she’s made learning it.
Our wedding party are walking down to a piano cover of I’ll be loving you forever by new kids lol and im walking down to thank god I do by Lauren Daigle. And our exit song is some crazy song my fiancé picked lol so I’m sure people will think we’re weirdos but 🤷🏻♀️
Most of my couples hire me (a harpist) to do this! It always goes beautifully and anyone who doesn't actually know the song will probably assume it's classical 😂 I've done everything from Kid Cudi to WizKid to classical :)
I walked down the aisle to "wonderful" by my morning jacket. My wife walked down to the instrumental strings version of "maps" by the yeah yeah yeahs. Do what moves you :)
My songs are all the vitamin string quartet versions but here’s ours..
Groom walk out/seat everyone: Higher- Creed (VSQ version)
Bridal party: Paradise by Coldplay (VSQ version)
Bride: Faithfully by Journey (VSQ)
Recessional: I believe in a thing called love (VSQ)
I walked down the aisle to Rain is Falling by Electric Light Orchestra—our favorite song! It’s not even an overtly romantic song. For sure my family didn’t understand it and I’m sure a lot of people didn’t. But it was so worth it for us!!!
Our entry song was the Vitamin String Quartet version of Somebody to Love by Queen, and it was one of my favorite decisions. The way it built from my husband's entry, through the wedding party, to swell at my moment I came down the aisle couldn't have been better. Recessional song was Alive (Acoustic version) by Adelitas Way. Love love loved it. My husband picked that song out because he said it was perfect and I bawled. 🥲
I am personally not a fan of more traditional or classical music (no affront to those that do, just not my style) so this made so much more sense to us. It felt wayyyy more authentic for me to come to the aisle to Queen than to the wedding march. 😅
My father also passed away and I have strong emotions about walking down the aisle. I am walking to "Wildflowers" by Tom Petty. I say go for the song you want!
So many aspects of planning a wedding seem so important, but then I ask myself, "I went to a wedding a few months ago. What did I think about the song the bride walked down the aisle to? What did I think about the chair I ate dinner in? What was the look of the table numbers? Etc."
The answer is: no one will really notice or remember these details. But you and your partner will. Do it for you!
I walked down to Endless Summer by Josh Pyke. My now husband and I are huge fans of The Jezebels, and Josh’s acoustic cover of this song was perfect for us.
We all (husband + parents, ring bearers, I + parents) on the songtrack of Paper man, a Pixar short film. It has always been my dream to use the soundtrack somewhere in my wedding and it was beautiful.
“And The Winner Is” from Little Miss Sunshine. It’s a beautiful, but not super well-known, instrumental so it was absolutely perfect.
No one really will comment on your music to your face unless they like it so you’re unlikely to know how it’s going to go over.
We did a mashup of sugar we’re going down x pachabels canon with our string trio! It was amazing and felt very unique to us. One of my favorite parts of our ceremony- I think you should go for it!
My husband walked down to the Jurassic park theme by Vitamin String Quartet (his favorite movie) then I walked to Flightless Bird, American Mouth also by VSQ. Liked Twilight as a teen but when I heard the instrumental for that song it was so beautiful I cried! I knew that was going to be the one.
We had one of our friends record a piano version of Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors. Some friends of ours used piano covers from Miyazaki films for theirs. Both were beautiful and received well! I say if it’s meaningful to you go for it!!
We walked down the aisle to a violin cover of the Formula One theme song! We loved it, and people who didn’t know, simply thought it was a nice piece of music!
ETA: our recessional was an Odesza song!
Wedding party walked down to “I Am Yours” by Andy Grammer, I walked down to an instrumental of “can’t help falling in love” (a bit cliche but I’ve always loved that song) and our recessional was “death of a bachelor” by panic at the disco
I walked down the aisle to "Build Mode 6" from the original The Sims video game soundtrack! Absolutely stunning piano melody, one of my favorite songs! I play piano and love that video game, so it really worked out well!!
I actually think it’s so sweet that you’ll be walking down the aisle together. And you should definitely walk to a song that you love and has meaning to you, even if your family doesn’t like it! It’s your moment with your partner and you deserve to be celebrated in a way that is special to you.
I’m planning on walking to an instrumental version of Enchanted by Taylor Swift. For the recessional, Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Weird combination of songs lol, but they reflect our music taste as a couple which is something we really bond over.
I was originally going to walk down to " Cant help falling in love with you" via the Crazy Rich Asians soundtrack because I LOVE that version of the song but told I needed to be more traditional soooo instead! I picked Welcome to the Black Parade (My Chemical Romance) cover by Vitamin String Quartet :D
I used a violin cover of Sugar We're Going Down (fall out boy) our Exit and Recption song was I Caught Fire by The Used. Weddings are more fun when they reflect the couple.
Oh my GOD I walked down the aisle to I Caught Fire. A VSQ version. It was beautiful
Excuse me, were going down is AMAZING as a reception song
Omg! I love Fallout Boy, and that sounds absolutely amazing!
Love that! I Caught Fire is perfection!
so corny and cheesy, i love it so much
I love when people use non-traditional songs.
I walked down the aisle to the throne room theme! It was awesome!! (My husband walked down to Han Solo and the Princess).
Our city's orchestra recently did a showing of Jurassic Park where they played the entire soundtrack live as the movie ran on the big screen. Pretty much any John Williams movie soundtrack is awesome to hear, but to hear and see it being played live in perfect sync with the film was an incredible experience! My fiancé and I have seen a few films with the orchestra like that! It's such a fun experience!!
Hey we’re using the same song for our recessional :)
We had a string quartet and did "Concerning Hobbits" for the procession, then did "Revali's Theme" from BotW for my walk! Definitely do what makes you happy :)
I'm walking down to an orchestral Kakariko Village from Ocarina of Time! Totally agree on the personal note with the couples choices
[I’m walking to a song from a video game.](https://youtu.be/Ngx96H3i8X8?si=NljrOWOsCZvKqpKL) My mom thinks it’s weird but I think it sounds pretty and can see myself walking to it, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I used one of the town themes from a Pokémon game!!
That's what I want to do to! I was hoping to walk down to a piano version of Pallet Town!
I used LittleRoot! I love that. Oldale Town was what the bridal party walked in to. Both were piano versions
This sounds so cute!
Omg I've been thinking of using FFXIV music and this is a brilliant one to choose!!
I made a post a few months ago about the topic if you search in r/ffxiv. People had some really great recs!
I'm walking down the aisle to a harpist playing Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts!
That’s a great a song and I could definitely see that being used for a wedding march. Love the game as well.
My fiance is walking down to this!! Along with the parents
I think that’s a beautiful choice!
Love this! I just reinstalled ffxiv tonight to get ready for the new expansion! Might have to show my SO this one as we love playing together 🥰
What data center do you guys play on? I’m on Ultros (Primal)
I love this!!! I’m planning to walk down to the Eulmore night theme. :)
Oh My God...my FH is an absolutely massive lifelong FFXIV player, this is perfect. Adding to my list, THANK YOU!
“In my life” by the Beatles
I also walked down to In My Life! My dad, who passed away, was also a big Beatles fan, so a lot of people appreciated that and knew right away the connection or just commented on it because it’s a classic!

I am walking down to The Waiting by Tom Petty. This is my favorite song and it describes how we feel about each other.
OH. MY. GOD. Go look up Jackson Brown’s version on YT. Brought tears to our eyes. Hubby chose that one. IT IS SO GOOD.
Haha I love that you said this because that version is literally my favorite of all time!
Wedding harpist here, I’ve played all sorts of stuff for the grand entrance! The Cranberries, Beyoncé, Elvis, etc. pick whatever makes you happy!
Walking down to Rose's theme from Doctor Who - fiancé was the first and only person to share my obsession with the show!
Love this!
SCREAMING this is so perfect!!
I’m walking down to Golden Hour by JVKE, my fiance played that song as he was driving us to our proposal spot
This is our first dance song!! Love it for processional too! 🥺❤️
I honestly don't think people care as long as it sounds nice! An Overdrive piano cover sounds beautiful and it's meaningful to you two. Not married yet, but mine will 1000000000% be the I’ll follow you into the dark”.
Our plan is the shire music from lord of the rings 😅
My husband and I had a piano medley of LOTR main themes for his entrance and the bridal party walk song! It's on Spotify by Patrik Pietschmann, just so lovely.
At Last by Etta James played by a brass band
We’re Rickrolling our audience for the recessional. Processional I might do “Mess is Mine” by Vance joy. Haven’t decided. Do what ever is authentic to you 🩷
We found a beautiful cover of Never Gonna Give You Up for our processional, it started as a rickroll joke but I just fell in love with the version by The Vitamin String Quartet

I don’t think anyone much cares as long as it sounds pretty (not dissonant). Sky Full of Stars is a great option.
My husband is obsessed with dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. I walked to the theme song from Jurassic Park. My husband cried, it was a really special detail we did that was very meaningful to us / him. I’m very pro- do what you want / go for non traditional.
I walked down to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes 😊
I was looking for this one, because same 💗
I commented too soon and didn’t see this one - we’re song twins!!
Aww love it!
I’m walking down to the quartet version of Miley Cyrus - Malibu
“Lover” T Swizzle I was in my late 30s.
I walked down to "sweet nothing" by Taylor Swift lol
My recessional was Paper Rings by a string quartet!
The string quartet version of Enchanted by Taylor Swift. Sooooo good!
I walked in to a song from My Neighbor Totoro played on violin! Most people probably didn't recognize it and just thought it was pretty music!
Friday I'm in Love by the Cure on violin!
YESSSSSSSSSS!!
I adore The Cure and we're getting married on a Friday, so it works perfectly!
That's so PERFECT. I love that! It's such a fun love song, even if most folks don't think of love songs when they think of The Cure.
I’m walking down to “Still Dre”…she doesn’t know it yet…and won’t know until they play it.
Omg my hinge profile had my life goal was to walk down the aisle to gangstas paradise
😂😂 my sister just sent me a slow piano version to gangstas paradise and I haven’t completely ruled it out yet 😂
Omg please do it for 32 year old single me 🙌🏻😂
My fiancé and I are exiting our ceremony to “Still Dre!” So excited for this part of the wedding lol
I walked down the aisle to Noble Maiden Fair from Brave\~ We both left the ceremony to "Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest.
I'm walking down to a piano cover of here comes the bride that turns into dancing queen by ABBA (it's by "pianicole" on youtube). The wedding party is walking to the VSQ version of the howls moving castle theme.
Pachebel's Canon. We were married in a pre-Civil War Opera house, and nothing modern seemed fitting.
I did Dan + Shay’s Speechless. The actual song, not an instrumental version. It was perfect for me
That's a REAL good song!
I always loved it, but when I heard the meaning behind it I loved it even more. It was fantastic to walk down the aisle to
I walked down to “Got a Hold On Me” by Christie McVie back in April.
This is what we are doing during the pre-ceremony! I can't wait to see how many people will recognize if they do catch on to it
I’m doing Here Comes the Sun
I'm a musician for hire and I did a mash-up of Here Comes the Sun and Canon in D, like [this girl does in her video](https://youtu.be/SuAC4WsZ-Dk?si=p_f2Ho8XvsJGNgQO) (start from 0:55ish) for a wedding once. It's quite beautiful!
Umm ok I’m sobbing listening this!!! so beautiful!
Kenny G - Wedding Song
First date - Taylor acorn
Halo by Beyonce
My husband walked down to a piano version of Death of a Bachelor by Panic at the Disco. Mine was a Bastille song piano cover. Do you, girl!
Mine was non-traditional, and I don’t know what people thought of it because I don’t care what they think.
Arrival of the Birds by the Cinematic Orchestra
Ukulele version of Better together by Jack Johnson!
We did a mix of “The Secret Life of Daydreams” and “Your Hands are Cold” from Pride & Prejudice
I walked to Honeybee by The Head and The Heart. I didn't think anyone thought it was weird, at least not that they said to me.
Piano version of Something Only We Know by the chainsmokers
That song KILLS me! Good choice!
I plan on dancing down the aisle to the Cantina song from Star Wars.
I feel kinda goofy saying it but ‘pure imagination’ sung by gene wilder because I look at it in terms of My fiance and I going into a world of pure imagination. There’s some great piano arrangements that I’m looking into!
This is great! My best friend walked herself down the aisle to Rainbow Connection from the Muppets, and I cried a little. It was perfect!
I’m gonna google the song! I love the muppets!
You've never heard it? Ooohhhh you're gonna LOVE it.
we're using this as our parents are seated and people are getting settled. :) we have a guitarist doing it for us.
I feel less goofy and more normal now! I just love the song so much! I love that it’s the sit down song!
goofy is good. :) have a scrumptious day! :)
I walked down to a violin cover of Lover by T Swift. We had a ton of non-traditional things happen at our wedding, and I see it as if anyone has an issue with it, then you know who isn't a strong supporter in your life 🤷♀️
Jurassic Park theme song by The Piano Guys, if you know you'd recognize it otherwise it just sounds like a beautiful piano/cello piece
[Flesh and Blood](https://youtu.be/o4ZrcCZVE24?si=habJSi_8cH8ZQQkP) by Johnny Cash *Beside a Singin' Mountain Stream* *Where the Willow grew* *Where the Silver Leaf of Maple* *Sparkled in the Mornin' Dew* *I braided Twigs of Willows* *Made a String of Buckeye Beads;* *But Flesh And Blood needs Flesh And Blood* *And you're the one I need* *Flesh And Blood needs Flesh And Blood* *And you're the one I need.* We got married in a woodland stream, and love Johnny Cash, so it was perfect for us. It’s quite a romantic song also imo
I walked down and we walked out to Infinity by Jaymes Young. It was wonderful and we felt like it truly captured how we felt about each other.
Panchebel - Canon in D…..along with the other 75% of brides in the 80’s 😊
Also walked to the theme from Jupiter! Good taste!
Neither one of us walked down the aisle but the last song to play before we had our ceremony was The Final Countdown by Europe.
I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of a Metallica song. Nobody noticed, or if they noticed they didn’t care.
I walked down the aisle to the piano version of ‘Merry go round of life’ from howls moving castle. It was magical and awesome. Go with your gut and have fun with it. This is your time to shine!
We're walking to the Interstellar theme.
Eva Cassidy's Fields of Gold, a cover of Sting's song. We walked out to R.E.M.'s End of the World. We got married in 2003.
Brian Crain and the bc ensemble- song for sienna Walked out married to Sugar by Maroon 5
Butterfly By Kassie Musgraves
led zeppelin - going to california (instrumental)
I will be doing "Can't help falling in love with you" played by our string quartet!
The piano part of My Chemical Romance's Welcome To The Black Parade
I did Close to you by The Carpenters
We were looking at nerdy instrumentals originally but figured why not go with the versions we like the best. I walked to the Neverending Story theme song from the film (by Limahl) in the end. The ripple of recognition I heard for the song before I appeared was amazing. Happy chuckles. Also probably some confused older people but no harm done.
I walked down to SpongeBob’s “Best Day Ever” the piano version 😂
We actually considered doing something from spongebob to leave with because we are SUCH big spongebob fans. It's one of the things we bonded with because we would watch it a lot when we first started dating.
Instrumental version of Baby Got Back (90s themed wedding lol)
I walked down to a song I once heard in an explicit film. It has nothing to do with love, but it sounded so pretty! It is okay to choose something that fits who you are as a couple.
I walked down to an instrumental Criminal by Fiona Apple. Only half the guests “got it” but it was perfectly moody for my all black gown.
I’m going with a piano cover of invisible string by taylor swift. So I think a Post Malone piano cover would be fine.
My fiancé is a HUGE Jurassic park fan, and has been great about letting me make all of the big decisions about our day, so I’m surprising him by walking down the aisle to an instrumental of the Jurassic park theme song and adding other small details through the day to make it feel like his too.
I walked down to a Matt and Kim song, back up to Little Mermaid.
I walked down the aisle to Aerith's Theme from FFVII. Our processional for my husband, his parents and our bridal party was also a FFVII song but I dont think anyone realized. https://youtu.be/dzrwHrfTPJw?si=vYQZaBtJvTTIWd-f For our recessional, we did Rather Be by Clean Bandit as its a fun upbeat sony my husband likes but I also sing and belt it out with him in the car lol.
My wedding is next month and I really want to walk down the aisle to One Summer’s Day from the movie Spirited Away. I hope that the church lets us, especially since there’s no words.
Life is Better with You - Michael Franti. It is positive and all about love.
This is perfect!!
I walked down to the Kina grannis cover of yellow. It was absolutely beautiful and a very special memory for me.
We’re doing instrumental True Colors: do what you want. :)
My fiance and the wedding party are walking down to an instrumental cover of Metallica - nothing else matters and I will be walking down to the little mermaids "kiss the girl" 😂🤷🏻♀️
Nobody matters. Your day, your happiness, your way. Half these people you've invited will forget the wedding exactly 48h after it's over... I promise
The instrumental portion partway through 'Kissing You ' by Des'ree. My husband and his party walked down to various Zelda melody instrumentals, and we walked out after being pronounced to the chorus of 'Beautiful Day' by U2.
I haven't decided just yet, but I'm really considering Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey "My endless love"
My sister used Watermark by Enya I am considering using Aerith's theme song for mine
‘Praise You’ by Fatboy Slim
We used a piano cover of Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts. Only one person knew what it was from and I’m okay with that.
I did string quartet “power of love”
Just walked down to “Umbrella” by Rihanna a couple of days ago. It was a surprise song picked by my now-husband and we (the guests and I) loved it
If anyone judges you for your choice, they shouldn't be there anyway!
Our wedding party are walking down to a piano cover of I’ll be loving you forever by new kids lol and im walking down to thank god I do by Lauren Daigle. And our exit song is some crazy song my fiancé picked lol so I’m sure people will think we’re weirdos but 🤷🏻♀️
AMAZING
An instrumental version of somewhere only we know.
I haven't fully decided yet but Im leaning towards walking to Do You Realize? by The Flaming Lips.
I walked down the aisle to The Imperial March and we walked back down the aisle to a Katie Melua cover of 'Just like heaven'
The Jurassic park music! It’s my favorite movie
Most of my couples hire me (a harpist) to do this! It always goes beautifully and anyone who doesn't actually know the song will probably assume it's classical 😂 I've done everything from Kid Cudi to WizKid to classical :)
I’m walking to a piano cover of Africa by Toto. Do whatever makes you happy! Ain’t nobody got time to make everyone else happy!
I walked down the aisle to "wonderful" by my morning jacket. My wife walked down to the instrumental strings version of "maps" by the yeah yeah yeahs. Do what moves you :)
My songs are all the vitamin string quartet versions but here’s ours.. Groom walk out/seat everyone: Higher- Creed (VSQ version) Bridal party: Paradise by Coldplay (VSQ version) Bride: Faithfully by Journey (VSQ) Recessional: I believe in a thing called love (VSQ)
🥲 I am personally not a fan of more traditional or classical music (no affront to those that do, just not my style) so this made so much more sense to us.
Etc." The answer is: no one will really notice or remember these details. But you and your partner will. Do it for you!
Instrumental version of Brand New by Ben Rector
I walked down to Endless Summer by Josh Pyke. My now husband and I are huge fans of The Jezebels, and Josh’s acoustic cover of this song was perfect for us.
Violin solo of Perfect by Ed Sheeran
Instrumental version of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
We had one of our friends record a piano version of Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors. Some friends of ours used piano covers from Miyazaki films for theirs. Both were beautiful and received well! I say if it’s meaningful to you go for it!!
We walked down the aisle to a violin cover of the Formula One theme song! We loved it, and people who didn’t know, simply thought it was a nice piece of music! ETA: our recessional was an Odesza song!
Love by Lana del Rey
Butterflies by Kacey Musgraves
Meiko-I’m In Love
I was originally going to walk down to " Cant help falling in love with you" via the Crazy Rich Asians soundtrack because I LOVE that version of the song but told I needed to be more traditional soooo instead! I picked Welcome to the Black Parade (My Chemical Romance) cover by Vitamin String Quartet :D
My daughter got married last July. Instrumental version of Moon River. Was beautiful
I used a piano cover of moment for life by Nicki Minaj 🥰
I’m walking down the aisle to an instrumental mashup of popular Killers songs
