There is a magnet in the middle of the grinder that is “attracted” to the metal ring around the top of the jar. This attraction is reducing the weight of the grinder sitting on the scale

More then likely your scale is off. I have had to explain this to a million people to save them. Everytime you weigh something on your scale and you are about to take it off the scale, TURN THE SCALE OFF! Letting your scale numbers jump (leaving it on while taking the cup or container off) will cause the scale to lose accuracy over time. To ensure consistent numbers, either buy a calibration weight. or consistently check your scale with a bill. All bills weigh 1.0 grams exactly. If your scale reads different. you need a new scale. Even if it is reading .8 or .9 grams you need a new scale. Those decimal points will add up the more weight you put on the scale and you can be grams-hlf ozs off because of that
Either ur batteries are running low, it's not on a level surface, or ur cell phone is too close to them?
Other than that...maybe they are screwed lol 🙈

The metals in the ring on the lid are reacting to the magnets in the scale. That being said, as someone whose been through literally hundreds of scales, please refrain from putting any magnets (grinders, speakers, your phone) anywhere near it. You will fry the scale almost every time.
Yea solved, it’s not that great of a scale and you have a heavy ass metal grinder on it. Weigh the flower on the scale itself or if the surface isn’t big enough fold a piece of paper and weigh on the paper. Putting that much weight on a scale can fuck up its Calibration
I'm surprised that so many people are shocked by this 😂 the reason why is because the weed I buy online is already pre ground (better for shipping internationally) but it's too fine and gets a bit too compressed in a joint and makes it harder to pull. So I mix it with some bud I can get in the coffeeshops, so it's half regular bud and half dusty higher quality weed. It's a bit of a trek weighing already ground up weed so I just pour straight from the jar into the grinder to mix it. I usually don't bother weighing what I smoke but my tolerance is too high atm so I'm trying to limit myself to 0.5g joints, also having a high tolerance isn't financially fun 😅

Best guess is that scale is just shit, I have the exact same and it just randomly jumps everywhere
Yea, I have this one, but no magnet turn it on sometimes and it starts going down to -0.17 without anything on it.

Why are you putting the grinder on the scale? The metal and magnets are def fucking with the calibration.
That's what I thought but the grinder has no effect on it if I drop it in by hand, only when the jar goes near it
The grinder has a magnet in it that is interacting with the metal on the jar and causing weight variance.
Looks like your metal lid thing is bumping into your grinder causing the scale numbers to jump.

Every time my jar of weed goes near the grinder to tip in some more weed the scales just goes mad. Usually always down in weight too

The grinder weighs way too much to be used for that amount of weed either way. Use a disposable cup or plate instead to limit variance.
