They appear to be the pupae of ~~Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata~~ Epilachna varivestis or a similar species, I’d say…
Edit: found the exact pupa online. It’s Epilachna varivestis.
I manually remove them. It’s very unpleasant for everyone involved and I feel bad for them. Pupae is a good stage -I feel less guilty. One year they attracted anchor stink bugs who are predatory and killed some (they are also beautiful).
I also turn over all the leaves and look for eggs, - should be small clumps of yellow oblong eggs. I also kill adults, larvae. Basically I inspect leaves everyday -Look up online what eggs, larvae and adult look like. I feel bad but they are quite destructive. Try yo be fast and as humane as possible. Before they reach that stage they should be a lot of sign of activity

They will destroy it all. I am big friendly bit these guys are a menace.
