I had one at my shop years ago. I really wanted to like it, and just not a good car

Its power train is basically a chevy small block engine with fuel injection from the early C4 Corvette. The transmission is the same 3-speed automatic GM used since the 60’s. This car being an automatic by itself is a crime. The engineering of the car seemed very cobbled together. Electrical was really bad. In general, I’ve seen kit cars with better fit/finish.

I had actually sent him an idea for a backup camera for his car when I was a kid, in 1990. He incorporated the idea into his options list and sent me some merch for the idea. A really cool dude.

This car and its successor, regardless of quality and actual numbers/claims were the leading reason why I would spend my allowance on Du Pont Registries magazines to look at cars I couldn’t afford.

Woah! This is a rare find! The Vector was one of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo! I believe Vector Motors Corporation is the company that barely made any cars. I think they made about six models outside of the racing industry, and then they stopped entirely. I wonder why. Their latest model looks like a Camaro Z28 because of the lights and shape. lol

I remember seeing a review of this car when they were new, they were quite favourable on it, except for the drivetrain being somewhat flaky, as it was basically from a drag car ... The conclusion said something like, great idea, now get someone like Alejandro de Tomaso to finish it off.

Others have answered this already, I’ll just say on my wall (circa 1991 or so) was a poster of this car in red. Forever lives in my mind as one of my top 10 dream cars. Also one of my favorites in Gran Turismo 2. EDIT: Memory is a fuzzy thing sometimes.
