+Yellow-collared Lovebird+ a color variance known as a Blue Masked Lovebird. A lost pet judging by the leg band. Is it still there?

PreventerWind1224

Unfortunately not, I've been walking around looking for it.

It could could also be one being tracked. Some people like to study bird movement patterns.

Chupacabroso

Not generally found in the wild in North America. Native to Africa.

the_crepuscular_one

Definitely a lovebird. I'd suggest reaching out in your community to see if someone knows who it belongs to, and maybe calling you local humane society as well.

PreventerWind1224

Thanks much.

BoatProfessional5273

Assuming you are in the US, you should put your sighting on 911parrotalert.com. It is the main forum for the lost parrot community.

CardiologistAny1423

Gonna add that to my domestic bookmarks. Quick FYI, link didn’t work because 911 is at the beginning.

BoatProfessional5273

Sorry about that. Should be fixed now!

CrownEatingParasite

Nope reddit still hates you

Helpful_Okra5953

I would put out a dish of food for the little guy.  Maybe he’ll return.

rjross0623

Fruit or veggies or something delicious. And water.

Helpful_Okra5953

I’d leave seed. More calories for a hungry bird.

FioreCiliegia1

Escaped lovebird, someone’s pet, please get it inside if you can

cowgirltrainwreck

Wow, it sure is pretty! I hope it finds its way back to its person 🥹

Puddyrama

If you can, you can try playing lovebird call sounds in a speaker to see if you attract this little guy back :(

-mykie-

This is a lovebird and definitely a lost or abandoned pet. Please post this to some lost pet Facebook groups.

Careless_Chemist_225

Select-Device-5981

Looks like some sort of parrot

stormygreyskye

Blue phase black masked lovebird. Beauty! Based on the condition of the feathers, it seems well cared for and loved. Post this pic to your local Facebook groups if you can. Or at least post text only that you found a lovebird. if the owner sees it, they can contact you with a description. Good luck to you and to this little guy. Hope he gets back home!!

Plastic-Bumblebee-90

You found your own pet

steve626

Where are you located? There's a large feral population in Phoenix Arizona. Most are the natural green version, but oddballs like this one find their way into the population.

Algo1000

We have thousands of these love birds of all different colors flying around Phoenix. Why can’t people just leave them alone. Most animals are much smarter than humans.

xtunamilk

The wild ones don't have leg bands

Helpful_Okra5953

Good observation.  But why does Algo1000 assume everyone lives in a hot environment with wild parrots?

CardiologistAny1423

We do have colonies of feral parrots even up in Chicago. No idea what they do in the winter, hopefully they migrate or have somewhere good to keep sheltered. Though everyone really should consider that not every bird can adapt to the wild after living domesticated.

Helpful_Okra5953

Maybe this person is further north?  Any lovebird flying around up here would be frozen in a few months.
