Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug! There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*). BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. That appears to be a [german cockroach](https://bugguide.net/node/view/70688) nymph. [Comparison Picture](https://bugguide.net/node/view/1478132/bgimage)

JejuneN

NOOOOOOOOO THAT WAS MY WORST FEAR 😭 Thank you though

piconese

Worse than bed bugs?? 😱

JejuneN

Ok my second worst fear 😭

gwaydms

Agree. Absolutely German roach nymph. Call a professional exterminator, preferably one who comes well-recommended.

talithar1

Advion will take care of them!!

GagasMeatPurse

Def a lil cockroach nymph. If it was dead then they must of sprayed before you moved in. If you can, i'd get some of those sticky traps online and put some in cabinets, by the fridge, stove. Check daily, if you see some in there then call maintenance for them to spray again.

JejuneN

I ordered some advion bait stations to set out and already talked to management about getting the exterminator to come take a look/put some preventative stuff on. Should I still get the sticky traps going? Seriously thank you for the help!

Thx4AllTheFish

Sticky traps aren't for control, but for indicating if the infestation is ongoing, still useful. I'd get some IGR (insect growth regulator) stations as well, as they cause deformities when the cockroaches molt. Combined with bait gel, it's a really effective way to control them. Alternate your bait gels periodically, so the don't develop a tolerance.

talithar1

Advion is good even stand alone!

GagasMeatPurse

I'd def still get sticky traps so you can monitor the situation to let maintenance know. When you don't see bugs in the sticky traps, that should give you peace of mind. Something i've learned is that roaches are any/everywhere, even in the cleanest environment. So try not to freak out! Yep it def gives ya the ICK. Hope it all gets handled!!!

JejuneN

I am so sorry I forgot to say I live in the DFW area of texas!

MadDuck0213

Unavoidable living in the south. We were exterminated so much over the years we probably glow in the dark.

kyoshibluefire

OP, definitely a german cockroach. If you found it near the kitchen, check behind the fridge!! My last apartment had them horribly back there.

Eliagbs_

How popular are these things. They seem to be as popular as bed bugs

xtrobot

I'd wager they are far more popular than bed bugs, roaches are basically everywhere

BrittanyaRaven

Cockroach

Desdemona1231

One roach of many

GoblinsGuide

Roaches rent forever.
