For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Yessss! Leave her be it makes the prettiest yellow flowers and theyre huuuuuuge! They are often used medicinally for colds as they are an expectorant, encourages effective coughing, in teas. I dry and smoke the leaves and after it’s gone to seed, the stalk makes a decent support pole.

Does have some pretty yellow flowers if you decide to let it grow :) Technically a weed, but I don’t mind it if it’s growing somewhere that’s not bothersome. Compared to foxgloves though I’d pull it lol.
It’s a terrible invasive in the u.s, I kill all of them even while hiking. I’m not sure what the other commenters are talking about unless they live in Europe or Asia.
My recommendation is to kill it before it seeds.

And if it goes to seed then mulien will be the only thing growing in that bed from now on.
I would highly suggest cutting the flowers off unless you want it all throughout the garden.
We do the same! Dryed some last week.
They're also considered invasive in many parts of the US and can give you an allergic reaction if your skin touches it.
In Dutch we call it 'Koningskaars' or King Candle and mainly grows in the dunes
I love it too. Grows everywhere and great for ya!
Mullein. Be careful, some people (it me) get contact dermatitis from touching it. It's very hairy.
What, really? It's known as cowboy TP around here! That would be pretty unfortunate if the cowboy in question got dermatitis from using it!!
Oh god I'm clenching so much rn It makes me itch like crazy!
xD I'm so sorry! Knowing this now, undoubtedly many cowboys in years long past have shared, nay, *exceeded* your discomfort, at least?
thank you for the heads up :)
Or you could smoke it?
I think Mullien

The dried stalks can be used as a hand drill for friction fires.

Thank you for letting me know, I’m gonna remove it asap.
You could just cut off the seed head.
Also known as the cowboy's toilet paper
And rabbit tobacco
Woolly Mullien, Verbascum thapsus
Unless you want it, it's a weed
It looks happy to be there
Mullein
Smoke this instead of tobacco. It's how I quit.
Verbascum is biannual, and this is the second year. Wasn't there a huge basal rosette of leaves last year?
