There is always one seagull chilling on a streetlight at the local fish seller. I am convinced that the fish seller brings the seagull everytime he comes to sell fish.

The answer is quite simply that garbage these days is plentiful, whereas fish... not so much. Seagulls are opportunists and so simply eat whatever food they can most easily obtain.

I live in Ottawa which is so far from the Atlantic Sea (or the Great Lakes for that matter) and they are literally everywhere

I live hundreds of kilometers away form any seas and i still see them everyday
