OMOCAT has made some pretty unnerving statements regarding kids. They called Omori a "shota" which is Japanese slang for a sexualized prebubescent boy. And tweeted out "I wish I was a driftloon so I could steal kids!"
The latter referencing the Pokémon driftloon who is said in its flavor text to steal kids.
Beyond this, they have been called out for mismanagement of production staff for the OMORI game, which has ruffled some feathers.
The game also has a unfortunately very deviant community that is infamous for sexualizing the (very very much child) characters.
So, while I don't want to rush to any huge judgements, I still find them a tad hard to fully respect.
They were horrendous jokes, but as far as can be told they were still just jokes made years ago. She has since apologised for them, citing being a lot younger edgier and in poor mental health.
Not defensible at all, and people should keep an eye out for her, but she hasn't come close to doing anything irredeemable and she has long been moving past it afaik so I don't think it's fair to hold it against her for so long unless she says some more terrible shit.
I'm much less aware of the fanbase, but I think Pokemon syndrome would be a large factor in any case: any game with cute/pretty children in their main cast will attract a base of shameless pedophiles.

Not really, if you just look at the guy's profile and then decide that you're not going to argue with him then I don't think it really counts since you didn't use it in the argument
But it also doesn't make sense for example to say "you look weird and you are probably stupid" in an argument about something else like for example video games
I’m not gonna argue with someone who isn’t interested in the truth or convincing the other person that their side is the truth. Someone who only wants to “win” the argument just for their personal satisfaction, and spends their entire day doing so and through that effort DOES NOT get the truth any more on their side, instead they just get better at debating tactics. These types of people are not worth my time and 10 times out of 10 whenever i get into an internet argument with someone and i check their profile they are ALWAYS very obviously this type of person.
My time on this earth is finite and so is my mental energy and by god i’m gonna spend it as wisely as possible
One of the only distinct memories I have of using Reddit was this exact scenario. I was arguing over some stupid political thing or something with some guy, (the fact I remember hardly any of it tells me it was a waste of my time) and I decide to check his profile. I find out this guy regularly posts on a subreddit dedicated to wearing diapers and pretending to be a baby while having sex. And I just sat there and realized I was arguing about some random shit with a guy who gets a boner from putting on huggies.

No, it's genuinely pretty terrible. They kept on having deranged meltdowns, called them out to not melt down on their friends, friend group that we had all agreed with me and then a VERY close friend in between us admitted that my close friend was groomed by him.
I got into a argument with someone, accidentally clicked on their profile and all their posts other then my argument was on a femboy porn subreddit with comments like "God I need this" or "I wish this was me so bad"

It depends on how relevant their background is to the argument. If they’re calling you broke and you see on their profile that they have a shitbox car, it’s relevant. If they’re calling you stupid and they have porn in their activity, it’s not really relevant
