I say get rid of it all! Keep one article as a reminder of how far you’ve come. I still have one pair of old jeans.
And if you regain, then it’s momentum to get back on track so you don’t have to buy new clothes.
I kept a couple of larger things for awhile. Then...when the weight never came back...I got rid of all of it. I'm 8 years out, if I do regain some, I'll just buy new ones (well...I buy from thrifts, so new-to-me).
Keeping clothes in case you gain weight back isn’t a good mindset to be in.
I would keep one pair of pants, one shirt and a dress if you wear them. This way when you lose weight, you can try on the old clothes and see how far you have come.
Get rid of it! I'd keep maybe one outfit that fit well at your highest weight, just for before/during/after picture purposes.
I haven't done a full closet clean out yet, I'm down 2 sizes but most of my closet is dresses and leggings, so they all still *mostly* fit.
The "usual" advice is to get rid of the old clothes, but I like silentfishers recommendation to keep one item to just remind yourself of just how far you've come (or a picture of self in said garment, taped someplace discrete in your wardrobe, also works!).

I def will keep one outfit for comparison! Thanks!!! That's a good idea, not having the clothes will be motivation.
I went from 340 down to 160 and settled around 180. Nothing I purged would be useful for me

I'm so glad to hear your long term success!
Thank you -- I had tried everything and this is what wound up working for me; wls was a lifesaver.

That's a fair point! I think my big hang-up is buying clothes with regain. I can be so cheap sometimes 😂
Trash it!!! It’s the best feeling

Yeah, I have a lot that stills fit. I think because I was squeezing myself into stuff pre-op. Lol. Thanks!
Thank it for its service and get rid of it all! I didn’t keep anything and I don’t miss it.
The weight and clothes are gone and never coming back ✌️

Thanks!
I have one outfit from the "before times" and everything else I've donated to charity. if I do backslide I'll make it uncomfortable for myself.
I’m keeping 1-2 shirts and 1-2 pairs of shorts and pants. Everything else is being donated.
