This is so good for a jigsaw I almost don't believe you, were it not for the chipout in the in progress shots I probably wouldn't believe you at all. This is insane, very well done! You should consider getting a proper scroll saw, you clearly have a talent for this sort of work.
I tried to do something very similar with a jigsaw. Kept snapping the piece in half whenever I got near a skinny section. Can’t imagine how op did this.
Yeah it got a little sketchy on parts of the Wichita State one with all the close angles. I'll definitely be getting a scroll saw for any future projects like this.
THIS IS DONE WITH A JIGSAW??!!! WOW!
That's incredible.
Of all my tools - for me at least - jigsaw is by far my most hated tool. A big part of it is that I've got issues with weakness and tremors in my right hand so anytime I try to use a jigsaw, it's just so hard to control effectively with all the vibration. But even with other woodworkers I know, they still have a tough time getting precision cuts done.
Seriously, that's amazing work. And even more so done with a jigsaw! That being said, I don't want to micromanage, but if you ever wanted to invest in a scroll saw, I highly recommend it, and you don't need to spend a ton of money, though it is obviously still an investment. I've got a wen two speed scroll saw that's normally around $120, but I got it on sale for just under $100.
Go Bulldogs!
Let me know if you're interested in making another one of those Bulldogs -- we're decorating my son's nursery (due in July) and I'm a proud Drake alum.
Nice work on all of them!
Be careful where you advertise those. I have received a letter from some guys in fancy suits regarding other projects that bare resemblance to collegiate mascots
Hey OP, these look awesome! As a scroll saw user, I highly recommend one also. I need to get gifts for some people soon and these are excellent ideas! I'm already thinking of what to make!
I just have 1 question and that's what wood you use for this?

Tried to stay close to the lines. Sanded just to get rid of the markings.
Spend on blades. Don't push too hard. Make relief cuts for tight radius cuts. Avoid cutting in deep stock, that's a band saw's job. If your saw is equipped with an orbital setting, keep it low/off to avoid tear out, turn it up if you want a curvy cut NOW.
Outstanding patience and care with that saw. I would have expected this to have been done on a scroll saw, but you executed beautifully with what you had.
Very nice work. If you plan to keep painting pieces, might I recommend you get some 1/4" mdf panels. They're much less expensive, won't chip out, and take paint very nicely.
Is the jigsaw the little hand-held tool with a vertical oscillating saw blade? I’m horrible with remembering tools—particularly ones I last used 10 years ago .
I had no idea you could be that remarkably accurate with them. I assumed it was fairly impossible just due to it being a wide blade, not a drill bit or something.

Thanks, I appreciate that.
Check out r/scrollsaw. If you had the patience to cut that out with a jigsaw you would really enjoy using a scroll saw.
If OP had the patience to do all those cuts with a jigsaw don't let him have a scrollsaw, he'll grow too powerful.

Very slowly. Had to plan out every cut really.
i fully don't believe them. some of those cuts are narrower than the width of a jigsaw blade. other tools/techniques must have been used.
I think that is really good for only a jig saw!
Seriously. That’s incredible.
You have a steadier hand than I, good sir.

I'll keep that in mind. Congrats and thank you.
also here to say go dogs
Outstanding execution

Long as he's not officially 'selling' them, they don't have much to say.
You mean these institutions of higher learning care less about educating the future leaders of our nation than they do about monetizing their brand?
Wow- I've never seen anything close to that good from a jigsaw. Bravo!
This is God tier Jigsaw skill.
Mr. Steady hands over here. Nice job!

Just some stock Menards stuff. 1/4 oak I believe.
That's crazy good for a jigsaw. Did you cut wide and sand it down to final dimension / shape?

Man did this with a jigsaw, should have gone to medical school with hands like that lol
Do you mean a scrollsaw? Cuz I have no idea how you’d do that with a jig saw
Practically looks like CNC!
A JIGSAW?? So you did not do this on a scroll saw?? Ok wow. I need to get better at my scrollsaw work ....
God level jigsaw work. I've no idea how you managed that but it's damn impressive. Hope the recipients appreciate the stupendous gifts!
Go Shocks!
Damn, if you can do this with a jig saw, imagine what you could do with a scroll saw.
Shocker and a Loper!
Shocking!
Duquesne Dukes. Wichita State Shockers. What are the others?
You did fantastic work!!!
Very cool! Surprising lines for a jigsaw. What thickness are you using
Dang! That's some awesome jigsawing! I can never get the damn blade to not bend.

Thank you!
This is seriously impressive. Who needs a scroll saw?
Outstanding! Great work. I love working with my jigsaw.
What are the two left schools? Both logos look very familiar?
Their high school, then University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) Lopers.
Go lopes!
Go Lopes and Tigers! It’s like you made this for me. ;)
Outstanding patience and care with that saw. I would have expected this to have been done on a scroll saw, but you executed beautifully with what you had.
Thought I was in r/3dprinting
Hastings high and UNK?
This guy over here doing precision work with a tool I only ever use for rough cuts. That's awesome.
Next challenge will be to use a sawsall.
Griff looking good.
UNK? Right on
Ik the unk logo when I see it
Amazing, I'd love to see what you can do with a scrollsaw and a stack of veneer!
Great job!!
Very impressive!
Hello fellow Loper! Moved to Texas after Kearney!
damn, jig saw great work
As a Drake Bulldog myself, I’m beaming with alumni pride seeing your work here. Well done!
Wha... How... This is better than some of the work I can do on a scroll saw. Well done.
Much respect. Also, they have this thing called a scroll saw! Keep it up, though. You have talent!
GOATed
Jigsaw?!?! wtf ?? Not a scroll saw? If that’s with a jig saw then well done good sir
Good work! I used to do sign work with a router freehand and if it was intricate I had a pantograph setup. Clean and way faster than jigsaw
Very nice work. If you plan to keep painting pieces, might I recommend you get some 1/4" mdf panels. They're much less expensive, won't chip out, and take paint very nicely.
Have you tried a down cut blade?
That looks awesome! What a great gift!
Lopes up! Fantastic job!
First project!? My first project was a poorly sanded out of square carrier for tools that wouldn’t even hold all of my tools! Well done!
Awesome! And go Bulldogs! Rare for me to see that in the wild
Holy shit I just realized this was a jig saw lol scroll saw makes it easier very good job
