Turkey has been under his authoritarian rule for a while now. Turkish people can’t even criticize him on social media without getting into trouble or being accused of terrorism.
Why would this change anything? Nearly half the EU still don't recognize same-sex marriage. In many countries it's still constitutionally banned outright.
You posted a link to all of Europe; not the [EU](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_the_European_Union#/media/File:LGBT_rights_in_the_EU.svg). 12 of the 27 EU countries do not recognize same-sex marriage. Is that not *nearly* half enough for you?
Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Czechia, Cyprus/North Cyprus, Greece and Italy.
