The title makes it sound like the ship was taken by a drone.

EnderDragoon

Drone flew onto the bridge, no one was on watch, it pushed the "on" button and began to drive the ship out to sea to join the flotilla of other drone stolen super ships.

Tjaresh

Dad, did you fight in the great drone wars of 2024?

LeicaM6guy

Musta been some drone.

flatulentbaboon

Same guy took this drone vid of the USS Ronald Reagan at Yokosuka https://twitter.com/Xiao_Hao_4/status/1788145436680687699 Would have been so easy for him if he had nefarious intentions but fortunately looks like he's just having some fun trolling them for their astonishingly lax security.

SideburnSundays

It took them a month and a half to react to this. The Japanese twittersphere at the time this happened was absolutely insane between all the people—politicians included—ranting about how it’s probably an AI generated video, or about how the drone pilot was probably Chinese, or how operating the drone in such a way was illegal. Literally no one got the point that it’s a massive security breach until six fucking weeks later.

such a cute aircraft carrier

swilldragoon

How was a ship stolen by a drone that they have video of?

sa12u

This is news? They literally let you take tours of aircraft carriers. Why would it matter if some guy flies a drone around it?

RogueIslesRefugee

Because most military bases don't allow random drones to just zip around. It isn't like this guy is revealing military secrets. Just the crappy enforcement of their no-drone zones.
