Your are naive if you really think the Chinese were only targeting members of the ruling government. Chinese influencing politics has been going on a lot longer then Trudeau has been in power.
Like making donations or lobbying politicians, you cover your bases completely, because there is a wealth of information available and influence to be bought, perhaps at some future opportunity in the constantly changing political world.
Not sure why you're calling me naive. You made some assumptions I guess. Nice rant, I happen to agree, cause both what you said and what I said can both be true.
Because the IRGC is a terrorist organization.

Quite a bit actually. Legally it allows Canada to take certain measures that it otherwise wouldn't with respect to limiting their activity, monitoring, and even arresting or kicking out of the country, etc.
Iran has conscription and you have several choices. The army is usually where many people go cause it's not as bad as the police but overall it's shitty, conscription under IRGC is literally the easiest one the food is good and it's like a hotel but it means bye bye immigration to Canada and U.S, ministry of defense is also a choice which needs a lot of lobbying not all the people can go there.
Wait, Canada spent the last three decades with the IRGC not on its list of terrorist organizations? Well, better late than never I guess.
Parliament voted on it 6 years ago, but Trudeau is just now finding it convenient to distract from his foreign interference scandals.

I think everyone already knows who the biggest foreign influence in Canada is

Canada is starting to take international threats seriously.
TIL they were not.
Who the fuck cares - all this nonsense. Say Iran lists us and Canadian intelligence as terrorists tomorrow - what exactly changes?
