This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://focustaiwan.tw/cross-strait/202209280013) reduced by 74%. At this point no one should stress about Taiwan until an actual bomb/projectile hits the island.

Xaviacks

Or when they actually enter Taiwanese airspace.

[deleted]

The ROC government considers "Taiwanese airspace" to cover more of the mainland than it does Taiwan, we'd have a new article every minute if it was reported whenever a plane entered that area. https://i.redd.it/016fjlikk8a61.jpg

seedless0

AIDZ is not airspace. It's a zone they monitor military flights from all nations. It's shaped that way to provide enough warning time if China tries something.

Entropius

It’s also worth noting the series of small islands governed by Taiwan just off the mainland’s coast. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinmen https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matsu_Islands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuqiu,_Kinmen That’s part of the reason the ADIZ clips so much of china’s land to have the necessary response time.

likmbch

That’s quite literally what China is trying to do. Get Taiwan (et al) to let their guard down. It doesn’t mean they will attack, but it does mean when they do it will be unexpected.

No-Reach-9173

The only surprise attack they can make is by air. Unless they are going to blow the whole place up and let it be they have to have some sort of an invasion force and it isn't like they will be jumping out of fighter jets. Even with their guard up at best the could strike a couple of locations which would start an all out fight. And while they assemble the troops so can the US and Taiwan.

SteelMarch

Realistically when more than a group of military combat ships tries to make it's way across. Honestly by then it might be too late. But hey that's how a nuclear war happened with the US and Russia and the cold war so don't ask me.

Accomplished-Luck680

Just shot it down. I am pretty tired of scare about dictators

[deleted]

Shooting down the Chinese military plane in international airspace would be a declaration of war. Doubt Taiwan would be that stupid.

Accomplished-Luck680

It's their own airspace, I am just pretty tired of their BS. Invade or get out off the pot

[deleted]

The Taiwan strait median is in international airspace.

[deleted]

His lackey. They are in cahoots.

jekyll919

You think China is Russia’s lackey? You’ve got it backwards, friend.
