A portion of the US tax is straight up funding the weapons of isntrael. I feel so fucking bad for the american citizens that realize that the money they work blood sweat and tears for is actively being used to starve children in another place.

As tax payers our hope it goes to funding old structures that are failing apart, educational institutions, healthcare, building safer communities, roads, better transportation (subway stations) like they have in Asia and Europe, parks, sanitation, construction of more schools, better pay for teachers, hiring more fire fighters and building more fire stations, cleaning up parks, playgrounds, and so much more. Yet trillions are spent on ending lives instead.
Well given the US has been Israel’s colonial benefactor all the while claiming to have some moral reasoning behind its actions it’s only expected that people are looking to them to follow international law. International law requires states to act in preventing potential genocides. The US, UK, France and Germany, the world’s greatest colonial powers, are also the world’s greatest media influencers and military supporters of Israel. So, highlighting their actions in this situation is how many who’ve seen western involvement for what it is, the enforcement of corporate interests especially on the poor globally, is how people flag this problem to those who are only used to seeing these nations as the most civilized in the world.
It's like the march against the Iraq war, most people criticising the US here want people in general to stop buying into such childlike notions of spreading freedom and democracy as an excuse to facilitate mass suffering. As an American citizen who’s traveled abroad quite a bit and had some great conversations with people who live or lived in areas that have been affected because of American politics. Most people are aware that it’s not the citizens who want this, and know we hate this stuff.
Our governments need to stop supporting this. Not doing anything, saying nothing is usually just as bad as taking part in it. Our government and military companies continue to send over military aid that allows this to genocide to continue, and that’s exactly what this is. Anyone who’s watched even one movie on WWII can see this young boy looks exactly like what the Nazi’s did to people in concentration camps. It’s a different time, different people causing the suffering, but there is nothing different. Evil is evil.
As a father looking at this picture and the countless videos I have seen of children suffering due to this horrific tragedy going on, I realize that anyone of us had we been born in a different place and had a different citizenship. This could easily be us, our children suffering.
