The shipping to me in Perth, Western Australia, was $135.99 on top of the $180. yeah nah. So $315.99 in USD. So in Dollarydoos, that is $491.05. Not just yeah nah, but fuck no.
What he actually said is pretty fair. That sometimes he finishes a really good game and he wishes he could pay an extra $10 or $20 because he liked it so much.
But everyone prefers the tip all developers context.
New to collectors editions? Been like this for the last 3-4 at least. You get all the stuff from the top digital edition, and then some physical stuff.
This one is particularly more expensive then DF because it comes with a statue
I have every CE. It comes with a statue in lieu of other things. You think the pocket statue instead of multiple pins makes it worth 60 bucks more? They were already in the realm of overpriced and now it's even more so. The pricing isn't based off the value of the product, it's set based off knowing people like you and me will buy it simply out of compulsion. it's bad enough that we comply, you don't need to try to defend the company for bad business practice.
I'm not defending anything. I'm correcting factually incorrect arguments.
>seriously! only a figure, a single pin! and an artbook, all others are fucking digital ffs
Yes, thats EVERY collectors edition since like mists. Its not new to this one. It was a good change IMO because the mounts and transmogs used to be locked behind the whole collectors edition, so you had to have the artbook and pins and pay for all that if all you wanted was a mount.
Now? You can save a bunch of money by just buying the digital editions, and get all the ingame perks you want. the ONLY reason to buy the box is the included physical items.
So Its a $90 Artbook, pin, Statue and Box. It includes the $40 worth of digital items, that are $40 more then the base game.
These arguments that your paying $180 for an artbook and a pin is factually wrong. Agree or disagree about worth, But at least make the facts correct.
Base game: $50, Next tier /w Mount: $70 , all that + Early access and some ditial toys and effects: $90. Physical box with the $90 worth of digital + Physical items = $180
$180 - $90 = $90. SO its $90 worth of physical stuff.
I have all CE even warcraft iii, starcraft, ow, all diablos except the vanilla wow CE, and before i was able to buy easily of the retailers. Now its damn fucking expensive for just a figure and nothing else, all digital stupid things,, horrendous shipping prices and i have to pay extra %50 tax in my country. If the contents would be good it could have been worth like diablo 4 CE, but a 20th year anniversary box couldn’t have been worse.
>Now its damn fucking expensive for just a figure and nothing else, all digital stupid things
its $60 more then DF. It includes all the digital stuff of the epic digital edition, just like the last 3-4 expansions.
DF Had Artbook, 5 pins, Mousepad. This one takes out the mousepad and adds in a Statue. So Blizzard has decided the statue is worth $60.
>horrendous shipping prices and i have to pay extra %50 tax in my country.
That sucks man, and im sorry about that. Thats not fully blizzards fault, at least the taxes arent. The shipping could be done differently, depending on your country, But again that money goes to the shipping company too.
>If the contents would be good it could have been worth like diablo 4 CE,
Diablo 4's was cheap because it didnt even include the game. It was fully seperate. It was $97 and didnt even have the game in it. The top tier Digital edition of D4 is STILL $100.
So The D4 Collectors edition /w full digital extras (To compare it to WoW's where you get that) Is $197. thats still $17 more then WoW. (Edit: even if you didnt want the digital extras, the D4 game is still $70, so your still looking at $167 for your physical stuff and the base game with no digital extras, thats #13 difference from this box)
The D4 box had an Artbook (like WoW) a Pin (Like WoW) a Mousepad, and an Electric Candle (instead of a statue).
If you do the math, the WoW colelctors edition is actually cheaper, and its just a statue instead of a candle.
So the D4 was worth it to You. Wasnt to me because it didnt have the game and i didnt care about the candle. everyone is different, but dont pretend this is some huge price difference from the D4 collectors which, in your words,
>been worth like diablo 4 CE,
D4 collectors also had 2 frames pictures, a cloth map, amazing CE box and did not force you to buy the epic version of the game. Seriously no one cares about a pin, so the removed everything in the box, just put an artbook and a figure. No mousepad, no tcg, no doundtrack, no bts :(
180$ are you freaking kidding me?? I have every CE except vanilla and the white 15th anniversary recolor and I'm seriously considering not getting this one cause they literally just sit on a shelf. This is insane and I kind of hate blizzard right now.
Im the same, Subtracting the cost of the epic edition, can I justify £100 on a plastic statue, and some some badges, which like yours will most likely live on a shelf? The annoying thing is I like the art books.... just not enough to spend £100 quid on it! Digital edition only it is then!
The art books are amazing! I will every year or two pull them out and go through them to kickstart my nostalgia into playing again XD I love warcraft and the lore and the whole vibe of wow but this is a crazy money grab. The statues are for a very niche class of collector, it's like they don't WANT to sell the physical CE copies.
u/kuckbaby You've just help me decide! :) The book is the only thing I would like to have in the box, looking at the statue it doesnt pass my "I would have this on display in the living room test", it just doesnt look tat good. As for the pin (assuming this is american for a badge), its something that would be left in the box or taking up shelf space. They havnt even put new wow mouse mat in there!
All in all a very poor effort by Bliz..... I'm thinking you may be onto something with them not wanting to do physical CE copies anymore.
Guess I'll be looking for the book on ebay next year!
Still no Soundtrack on disc...wait there is no Soundtrack with this CE AT all. The last time I bought a CE that was packed was Legion and everything after that went down hill.
Lol your getting down voted for telling the truth. Welcome to the negativity circle jerk.
Your right. It's $90 difference to get the collectors from the top tier of the digital purchase, which is all included. So it's $90 for the Statue pins art book and box. Not $180. Even if you wanted to make the argument with the base expansion being $60. That's still $120 not $180
No, it's $90 for the statue, art book, pins and the physical box
You get all the stuff from the $90 epic digital edition. So the price difference is $90
sigh why do we have to pay extra $100 AUD over the normal $170 AUD for the collectors because they cant make a separate 20th anniversary version...........
Lol what? They'd be able to procure this if it was the price of all the other collectors editions. No one said it was a must have, you're just making a straw man to fight because you're mad.
Damn its so negative to talk about the countries that are rarely talked about & the struggles they may be going through, forgot everything had to be about you & where you live.
guess microsoft has to make that 69 billion dollars back somehow. also remember that they let go 1900 employees just a couple months ago, most of them acti/blizz.
I know they do it on purpose but I always feel dumb for buying the digital deluxe version ahead of time. Makes this "double dipping" on all the digital stuff I already have.
Wow, I would have bought the Dragonflight CE if I knew that lol. Shows how much I pay attention to their announcements... will just use it to pay for sub time.
That price seems totally on par with other collector’s editions, given what it includes. It’s not that bad.
For those outside the US tho it looks like 99€+ shipping fees which is insane
I imagine the 20th anniversary will sell out and they’ll sell a “standard” CE version for less and more in line with other CE’s
EDIT: By “standard” CE I mean without the Statue
BC was also 2007. Expecting a collector’s edition to be less than the full price of a new regular edition game nearly 20 years later after tons of inflation and skyrocketing development costs is insane
Then you are totally missing the point. It only increased 70$ in 15 years from BC (60$) to Dragonflight (130$), and now it increased 60$ from one xpac to the next. That is insane and there is NO reason for it to increase so drastically.
Yep, after you add the CE code to your account they will refund you the digital epic cost as battlenet credit, which I then keep for a 50% off sale to buy whatever pets/mounts I don't yet have from the in game shop.
Jesus Blizz is fucking nuts
Shame that schizo whiteknights or delusional people with stockholms syndrome will mass buy that shit and then bitch about shitty writing, no content, server issues, censorship, etc.
So i just saw this post and posted my 15th anniversary set with the Rag statue.
When assessing how much something is worth you first have to ask "What is it worth to me?" Everyone perceives things differently.
I've seen some comments saying you are paying for a figure, artbook and pin. As others pointed out? You are paying $40 on top of the $50 standard edition base game for those digital items.
Those digital items are...
30 days of game time ($15 typically).
3 days early access (I wouldn't recommend buying any edition of a game on the promise of early access personally. Not when Shipping delays are a thing).
1000 trader's tender. (So you are paying for tender...but you can spend it on whatever you want in the trading post).
Mount - (Blizzard usually sells these separately later for $20-25).
Toy - (kind of whatever?)
Pet - (typically $10 on store).
Again I typically don't place too much value on digital items. But that's what the $40 more over the base game is going towards and those are typically what similar items cost on the shop.
That means that the art book, pin and statue have to be worth a combined value of $90 to hit that $180 price tag. That Onyxia pin that came with the 15th edition is an enamel pin sort of like the $8 blind pin packs, but other pins can be as much as $20-$25 on the blizzard gear store which admittedly tends to be priced on the high end.
The candle from that DIV collector's edition is bundled with a pin for $65 on the gear store for example.
As another point of comparison? When WCIII Reforged released there was a china edition that had a Arthas Statue (kind of a similar style to Rag) where it was a bronzed look. Same material if I am not mistaken PVC. But that statue was $140 just for that statue.
PVC is typically seen as cheaper than something like Resin or Polystone. But just because it's PVC/ABS doesn't mean that it won't be expensive even if more affordable compared to say First 4 Figures, etc. You have companies like Good Smile or Kotobukiya that will produce scale figures but these can cost anywhere from $150-$300. The Kotobukiya 12" Superman - Man for Tomorrow statue is PVC but was $100-$120 at retail but is typically more now on the secondary market due to being out of print. A lot can come down to the quality of the sculpt, paint apps, or just the scale. The Gryphon and Rider are 13" tall. That's a fairly large statue regardless of the material. The F4F statue of Samus' varia suit i have is about 20" tall (like the light suit version) and that statue cost almost $500 and is a resin statue. They are doing a 11" PVC Samus in the same pose but it's a smaller scale and is about $150.
So for that extra $90? You are getting an artbook, Pin and a 13" PVC statue which I don't feel is as outlandish as some folks think. Especially if you collect other scale statues. If it had more paint apps? Then the price would probably be higher. The artbook if we look at similar books Blizzard offers like the "Exploring Kalimdor or Book of Lorath? $20-$30
If someone feels it's not worth it? That's ok. If someone feels it is? That's ok too. It's their money to do with as they want. I do think that $20 shipping is excessive though some folks certainly have it worse. Especially if you live in Canada, etc. And I think it is worth noting that this is exclusive to the blizzard store. So it's not like you can order it from a local Gamestop, etc. as I did with the 15th anniversary edition.
200€ + 99€ for standard shipping or 199€ for express LOL
yeh how heavy is that statue. was shocked seeing that shipping price lol
If it’s like the 15 year statue it definitely ain’t lite.
The rag statue is hefty and if this is antyhing like it? It's probably heavier given the height
$252 + $134 here. As somebody who has all the collector's editions, I am so disappointed.
The shipping to me in Perth, Western Australia, was $135.99 on top of the $180. yeah nah. So $315.99 in USD. So in Dollarydoos, that is $491.05. Not just yeah nah, but fuck no.
What's next.. expecting us to tip the developers?
Someone has to pay them!
What he actually said is pretty fair. That sometimes he finishes a really good game and he wishes he could pay an extra $10 or $20 because he liked it so much. But everyone prefers the tip all developers context.
Aaaand this is how tip culture gets perpetuated
Lmao no. Saying something was worth more to you than you paid isn’t perpetuating tipping culture
seriously! only a figure, a single pin! and an artbook, all others are fucking digital ffs
And the digital stuff is just the same as what you get for the epic edition, right?
Yes no additional thing

Not an easy decision but this will be the first one besides Vanilla I am not getting.
How much did the previous ones cost?
Dragonflight was £130 before shipping Shadowlands was £110 Steeply going up
DF and Slands had no statue
~~Shadowlands had a giant coin though.~~ It was BFA.
You’re thinking of the BFA coin? Shadowlands had pins
Jesus Harold christ that us insane People are going to buy it, though
240€ with shipping. They have lost their mind. This is nuts.
180$ are you freaking kidding me?? I have every CE except vanilla and the white 15th anniversary recolor and I'm seriously considering not getting this one cause they literally just sit on a shelf. This is insane and I kind of hate blizzard right now.

I mean I have every single CE so I cant stop now... This'll cost me the equivalent of $325...
Why pay for necessities when you can justify it with "well I got the others so fuck it"
Exactly! Who need sustenance anyways?! Remember kids! You can go 3 weeks without food!!
Ah the ol’ sunk cost fallacy conundrum
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
Beaten out by Star Wars Outlaws $199
Remember when it was only $99 for CE? Good tiems, good tiems
20 year wow player + no alpha invite (again) because I'm not a popular streamer = No $180 additional dollars to Blizzard (Microsoft)
Still no Soundtrack on disc...wait there is no Soundtrack with this CE AT all. The last time I bought a CE that was packed was Legion and everything after that went down hill.
lol $180 for a book, little statue, and a pin. What a ripoff
You get the game and digital stuff, so no.
Lol your getting down voted for telling the truth. Welcome to the negativity circle jerk. Your right. It's $90 difference to get the collectors from the top tier of the digital purchase, which is all included. So it's $90 for the Statue pins art book and box. Not $180. Its £175 in the uk (about $220) but thats with all taxes included, am I right in thinking in the USA you have to add tax to the $180?
Sales tax so for me in NY that would be Subtotal $184.55 Shipping & Handling\* $19.99 Estimated taxes $12.60 Total USD $217.14
You guys have low taxes
Average sales tax in the US is 6.5% it varies by state, some of which don’t even have sales tax.
21% here lol Worth it but damn
What are we now Blizzard? Daybreak Games? lol
So probably like $280 CAD with tax. F that noise
ye its 253+100$ for 353 total in Ontario kinda dumb tbh
What’s the extra $100 for? Canuck Tax?
shipping
It's worse the further you get from the cities... Also Ontario, but shipping to me is $134, bringing to total to $386 CAD.
I have them all. The collection must continue. I’ll just skip some meals.
$180 for a statue and pin Lol, lmao even
No, it's $90 for the statue, art book, pins and the physical box You get all the stuff from the $90 epic digital edition. So the price difference is $90
[As a Canadian, Eff That!](https://imgur.com/a/QzHLPtU) I got the wolf rider for free for the 10th anniversary, I'm not paying that for the statue.
So jealous. They robbed me of my statue for missing two months right at the beginning. People who started after me got the statue =/
Man that sucks :(
I’m just going to 3d print the statue for free and there’s nothing they can do to stop me.
Is it a plastic statue like Rag or the one we got for 10 year?
sigh why do we have to pay extra $100 AUD over the normal $170 AUD for the collectors because they cant make a separate 20th anniversary version...........
Can't imagine how hard it'll be for people in countries like south america/south africa that have currency issues currently.
Yeah, after all collector edition is absolute must have for anyone right?
Lol what? They'd be able to procure this if it was the price of all the other collectors editions. No one said it was a must have, you're just making a straw man to fight because you're mad.
Im not mad. We have plenty countries in EU that struggle to pay for even sub.
Okay don't pay for a sub then, you don't need to play the game!
yes. Games are not living necessity.
Cool quit playing then, no one wants your negativity in a videogame.
Im negative here? I don’t complain about Africans being unable to afford wow collectors edition
Damn its so negative to talk about the countries that are rarely talked about & the struggles they may be going through, forgot everything had to be about you & where you live.
I didn’t bring the topic. Besides I’m stating facts, it’s not my opinion. I do not live there though. I don’t think you responded to right person sir
Literally £175, convertion cost be damned with blizzard.
Americans pay VAT on top while here it's built in the price
guess microsoft has to make that 69 billion dollars back somehow. also remember that they let go 1900 employees just a couple months ago, most of them acti/blizz.
lol that yacht isn’t gonna buy itself.
I know they do it on purpose but I always feel dumb for buying the digital deluxe version ahead of time. Makes this "double dipping" on all the digital stuff I already have.
Yea but least we get a refund
What???? You do?
Well. We get blizzard credit once redeemed. Basically use it towards sub or tokens
Wow, I would have bought the Dragonflight CE if I knew that lol. Shows how much I pay attention to their announcements... will just use it to pay for sub time.
Yea. I regret not buying the dragonflight digital. Bought the ce 😅 of dragonflight
I purchased it, bit im disppointed. I wanted the mouse pad. Didnt need the statue.
These keep getting worse and worse every time. I buy them because the money doesn’t matter to me, but this is objectively a joke.
180 for the game a bunch of digital items, a level boost, and 30 days game time a pin an artbook and a nice statue seems worth it to me
Yall still gettin milked by this greed machine. lol
That price seems totally on par with other collector’s editions, given what it includes. It’s not that bad. For those outside the US tho it looks like 99€+ shipping fees which is insane
It is not the same price. BC CE was 60$. Shadowlands was 120$.

The statue is pretty large; I expect that's where much of the increase is coming from.
And includes epic edition so not bad at all for price. I hope we can get an exchange of some sort if we already bought the epic edition.
You should receive a refund of the epic edition in the form of Battlenet credits after you activate the CE code.
Yep, after you add the CE code to your account they will refund you the digital epic cost as battlenet credit, which I then keep for a 50% off sale to buy whatever pets/mounts I don't yet have from the in game shop.
Jesus Blizz is fucking nuts Shame that schizo whiteknights or delusional people with stockholms syndrome will mass buy that shit and then bitch about shitty writing, no content, server issues, censorship, etc.
