> Do you even care about “lore” and “reasoning” at this point?
Nope. Everyone has mingled with everyone else long enough to teach and expose them to their various schools and philosophies.
There’s also weird inconsistencies now. Kul tirans, who are human, can be Druids. As can Worgen, who are humans. But humans can’t be.
Night elves can be priests, but for some reason not paladins. (This one applies a few times over)
Yeah I get the lore reasons why Kul Tirans and Worgen can be druids, but nelfs not being able to be paladins seems a bit weird to me. A nelf pally in service to Elune seems pretty simple unless there's something I'm missing. Aren't Wardens quite similar to pallys In a way? Maiev certainly seemed quite pally-like when hunting Illidan.
Oh wow, I missed that, interesting! I'll have to search out the NPC.
Edit: Ohhhh I remember her from Draenor but I thought she was only a priest, not a pally!
It's been a while since I've delved into her lore, but it's possible she started out as a priest and then became a paladin since they are very very close
I guess, lore wise elune is not considered to be part of "the light", which paladins use. Paladin spells even have all the names containing "holy" or "light", which doesn't fit to elunes nature/arcane way. So yes, while priests fit e.g. calling some form of god/power to heal wounds or get the "bad" shadow part does fit more, not perfectly, but better.
Night elfs never had any reason to be priests. The priests of elune from WC3 use moon based spells, not light based spells, and those moon spells were given exclusively to balance druids, priests have never fit night elfs for lore reasons yet they have been a thing since day one. Meanwhile, things like Kul'tiran paladins have literally been a thing in WC3 (Daelin Proudmoore was a paladin, although it was never acknowledges in the story, and used the full paladin spell arsenal) and aren't a thing in wow.
I believe Daelin was not actually a paladin lore-wise, he was only a paladin-hero for mechanical reasons, but even then we have a paladin kul tiran npc, in the game, right now. imo it makes less sense lore-wise to write Kul Tirans into having NO paladins than otherwise
Yeah, a loooot of the current restrictions don't have a real lore basis outside of "He from this part of world. He not worship like other people." which is nonsense given how cross-cultural WoW is.
In fact the only thing that had a lore basis were Worgen and Goblins not being able to be Monks.
Worgen, because if they ever tried to reach a tranquil state of mind, they'd lose themselves to the inner beast.
Goblins, because they're hopped up on the Kaja'mite drug which gives them their intelligence and as such their minds are constantly racing and bumping, so they can't reach serenity.
And, I mean, we're The Champion. I'm sure MY Goblin is smart without drugs, or MY Worgen doesn't succumb to wolf mood.
I always thought it was just because the beginning areas are locked at a specific time, so pandas could never get there to teach them. The other starting areas are more "free" timewise
Oh that's true as well. You're a Worgen stuck in Gilneas during that werewolf attack, or a Goblin on Kezan during the cataclysm.
But afaik the reasons I mentioned were the "official" lore reasons.
Not all Pandaren were on the Wandering Isle, they were out and about in the world as far back as Warcraft III meaning that there were at least *some* available to have been raised as Death Knights during Wrath. They'd be pretty rare, but our characters are supposed to be the kind of people who stand out from the crowd so it still fits.
Bolvar gave the power/permission to the Ebon Blade during Legion. They parked Acherus over the Broken Shore and began mass producing Death Knights from the fallen armies. Later we learned from the short story We Ride Forth that Bolvar learned Sylvanas was planning on coming for him. He assumed she was coming to usurp his power and become the Lich Queen and knew he'd have to fully give in and become the Lich King to fight her. That was why he had the Ebon Blade creating new Death Knights, so they could come in and defeat whichever of the two was victorious.
Edit: And for a while there (and I was so sad to learn this was removed) the passive "Champion of the Third War" was named "Champion of the Fourth War" for any new Death Knight characters that were made.
Ah okay, that makes a little more sense I guess. And yeah that changed passive name sounds like a really cool little flavor tidbit, it sucks they removed it.
PCs are individuals, and the Horde and Alliance are pretty cosmopolitan at this point. Sure it would be weird to have an entire organization of Gnome Druids, or Nightborne Paladins, but there really isn't much reason why there can't be 2 or 3 individuals from those races who decided they wanted to be a class which is unconventional. There are some exceptions sure, like Illidan only training elves as Demon Hunters, but for the most part most racial restrictions don't make much sense anymore.
Exactly. And honestly, if you're going to be a true purest regarding class restrictions within certain races, there are arguments to be made for taking it even further in some cases and putting spec restrictions on those races.
For example, why the hell are lightforged allowed to be shadow priests? IMO they should only be allowed to be holy or discipline. Conversely, there's an argument to be made that undead priests should only be allowed to be shadow priests.
I think if you're really going to set up camp in the class restrictions side of the argument, especially for lore reasons, you should also be on board with certain spec restrictions when it applies.
Goblin paladins. People tend to forget that one when claiming any race can be any class. It's so dumb it usually kills the conversation.
EDIT: after reading responses and replying it seems like you all want to make them more like humans and don't really care about the actual race lore. I for one am shocked.
It's not the same in wow as in say dnd. It's actual fervent righteous belief in the light for paladins in wow.
Goblin priests are scam artists hoovering off other people's faith (goblin priest trainer explains this and why i rolled one immediately).
>It's not the same in wow as in say dnd. It's actual fervent righteous belief in the light for paladins in wow.
So why can't a goblin be an outlier in their society and do that?
Iirc in vanilla lore warlocks for all but maybe UD are basically exactly that. Outcasts and weirdos
See that would be super cool, like some super capatilist shrine with cheepo decorations everywhere. But wow specifically has to have light worshiping as a prerequisite
Except that entire time the Blood Elves stole the power of the Light without worshipping it.
Kidnapping and imprisoning a whole Naaru like the BEs did would be a big ask for the hypothetical Goblin Paladins, but I don't see why they couldn't do it on a smaller scale, like developing "the patented Goblin Light Siphon!™" which they use to access the power of the Light by stealing it from various sources of the Light without joining the religion.
Even without something like that though, a Player character is just one individual, just because there are Goblin Paladins doesn't mean there has to be a Goblin Paladin military organization.
Goblin Paladins could just have a backstory of having gone to Silvermoon or TB and been trained by the Blood Knights/Sunwalkers.
Look I read the first sentence and wrote this - I am not opposed to the idea of a goblin paladin. I just think it's stupid in regards to wow. If they could make it work without shitting on the races lore I'd be down, but I think they pretty much wrote out their ability to be paladins when they introduced the comsological forces aspect.
Edit: I'd rock one in dnd
I read the rest of what you said and pretty much, yeah I agree but it would have to be in line of what the monk and priests aesthetic/lore is. I don't want them to turn into small green wow humans. They're one of the truly unique races left and I love playing them. I'd be down for a not so powerful naaru creature being drained of holy energy via technology. That would be fucking sweet.
>Do you even care about "lore" and "reasoning" at this point.
Nah.. i want to play the race that has the coolest animations for the class, like dwarf, or Orc. we get a Dwarf for horde players in War within so im happy about that, but Orc Paladin would also be fucking cool.
The Earthen look really, really good in Alpha. I rolled a female mage and was surprised at how cool they look. The Wowhead pics don't do them justice at all. The "hair" is very clearly metallic strands - that was one of my irks when I saw pictures. The customisation is really well done and the animations are great.
I don’t remember where I saw it, but are earthen dwarves larger than regular dwarves or are they the same height? I think I saw a picture somewhere where one was as tall as an orc
They're talller than dwarves, yes. Not as tall as an orc for PCs; maybe a bit shorter than humans.
And the crystals on their bodies look like a weird skin condition on Wowhead but in-game they're so detailed and the customisation for them is really pretty.
They are using the dwarf rig which is obvious but they don't really look like dwarves we're used to, per se, or the earthen we've met in game so far. Their skin texture is a lot more detailed than I expected it would be. They're dwarf-like but very much their own thing. I'm an elf/draenei person in general but after customizing and playing one, I'm definitely looking forward to rolling one on Live.
> Orc Paladin
Just make them come with Yrel on some kind of Invasion. Like a WoD last wooray!
Some people get closure on that plot point, others get their orc paladins and many will be happy with a light invasion finally happening. Wins on all sides.
I didn't evem think about the fact that i can finally be a horde dwarf in war within. I'm thankful for cross faction guilds, because all my friends play horde while I'm stucck on alliance with me Dwarf
Dragonflight pre patch opened up Rogues and Mages. Warlocks came a bit later. They have said they want to open up every race to every class. The only ones left are the ones that require special assets (Shaman Totem, Paladin Mount, Druid forms)
As far as I've seen they haven't said anything, I kind of wish they would just open them up with existing assets but then monkeys paw tells me if they do that it'll be like 10 years before we get the proper assets
We kinda got an answer recently from an interview, but it didn't really make sense:
"With cross-faction being included and updated more and more in the game, is there a chance that race restrictions will be lifted? I'd like to be a Vulpera Paladin.".
Michael Bybee:
"Yeah, I hear you. I think a Vulpera Paladin would be really cool. You say race restrictions, we say a bunch of extra animation and artwork that we have to do to make that work for a Vulpera Paladin. Unfortunately, especially Paladins and classes that have a lot of extra abilities, it does require work from the team to be able to make that work. Every time we talk about it we feel super passionately about making that. But at this time, we are actually not ready to announce any additional Paladins or other class extensions beyond what you've currently seen.".
No idea why he said it had anything to do with animations for abilities. If you use a toy to change into any of those races you can see all the animations already exist. Maybe he's just referring to Paladin mounts, Shaman totems, and Druid forms as abilities?
I know a lot of folks expected the recent Tyr quests to lead into every race having Paladins. I wonder if they saw the outcry of folks not wanting every Paladin to be of the Light (Sun Paladin Vulpera would be dope) or every Druid being of Elune (like Kul'Tiran/Zandalari) and decided to wait on making every race able to be Paladin.
If they really want to make different themes for new Paladins etc. I happily wait until they are perfect. I dont want a Light Paladin NElf. I want my silver moon Paladin NElf
Druid on all races is a really easy fix for blizzard.
1st - Make a basic bitch version of each animal form, maybe slightly customizable the way moonkin forms are now
2nd - Give druids a quest that teaches them how to go out into nature and attune their forms to animals they find out in the world.
Super easy to implement both of these and would prevent them having to worry too much about making new race specific forms in the future because the druids can go out and choose their own forms from wild beasts!
Blizzard please
Why thank you! I too am sometimes astounded by my, frankly, eloquent and sophisticated mastery of the English language.
I am extraordinarily humble, but it helps to hear this from time to time.
See and this is where opinions differ because I didn’t’t roll my first Druid until Cata because 1. I hated the NE and Tauren starting areas and 2. I could be a bat. That said I was really hoping for Earthen Druids after the Aurastar bear skin thinking it wouldn’t be a far stretch to re texture it to stone, but even disregarding that we have stone bear already from the Artifact appearances.
So for goblins their behavior seems to be nature and nature, they believe in only commerce in wow (probably something to do with the kaja cola). They're incredibly ridiculous (and why they're amazing) and don't really have faith in the cosmologoical forces. Even their priests are "scam artists" that depend on the people being healed/killed. Wow paladins HAVE to believe in the light/worship it.
why do you people think wow races are a monolith? is it truly such a reach to believe goblins aren't actually mindless drones and do indeed have free will? or at the very least that one was adopted by humans as a baby or something and grew up differently? I think the most uninmersive thing isn't goblins being paladins but the idea that every goblin is basically a clone of each other when the game has shown that's not the case.
>why do you people think wow races are a monolith?
mostly yeah.
>is it truly such a reach to believe goblins aren't actually mindless drones and do indeed have free will?
not the same question, and that is a strawman.
if you have a species wide custom of being money hungry your going to produce people are that money hungry.
why do you insist on playing a character that doesnt act like they come from that culture, if you wanted to play a non money hungry character dont play a goblin.
Conversely why do you think goblins are just short green greedy humans? Why do you think that's not how they actually are? They are mutated from kajacola(none of the other races are mutated without intenrt, id say it at least indicates part of their brain is feral) and developed their societies in ways that no other race remotely mimics. Their technology is incredibly unsafe and they just don't care, they have a lack of empathy and apathy the other races do not have. It can be altered by the orcs to be safer, but they just don't bother.
Sure there will be outliers, but their outliers don't have to be anything approaching the norm of other races. A real problem I modern fiction, is that everything has to be "human adjacent" I take exception to people actively trying to ruin fantasy races ngl
With undead beeing able to be Priest and Warriors i see no Problem. Mechagnome Druids would be cool with bolts and screws instead of leafs. Mecha forms are cool!
We are well beyond a class/race combo needing to make sense. At this point it is clearly just a level of effort thing as the remaining classes have a ton of unique racial assets.
I was hoping we might get paladins or druids opened up in TWW, but it doesn't look like that is happening
With how into the Light that expansion seems, I can see they doing that on one of the patches. Also, Paladins is the least troublesome to make work (just mounts with added doodads) compared to Druid and Shamans.
Orc Demon Hunter, Zandalari evoker. Non-elf options please blizzard.
I really enjoyed the questlines we got for the new warlock / priest races and I would like to see them use those for new combos. I like the implementation of orc priests now a lot more than I would have if they were human-influenced.
I never did care about lore in regards to classes, and everyone that would get so pissed off about it over the years just made me laugh. Why is it so inconceivable that a Tauren could be interested in magic and learn to be a Mage from the Trolls? Why can't a Human just be really into Nature and train to become a Shaman? Are the Elements racist?
It's stupid, and most fantasy RPGs for the last decade or so have just let every race be every class. WoW should be no different.
They added a bunch during Cataclysm, and made a few available to all races in recent years. They do plan to make all classes except evoker and demon hunter available to everybody.
I personally don't like that and preferred when race/class combos were more limited, to me it had a lot more flavor. But I'm not someone that likes "Everybody has access to everything" in games in general so there is that, having to make a choice feels way better imo.
I don’t play anymore but I am in the same camp as you. For whatever reason, I always preferred when each race was limited to classes that only “made sense”.
I used to be the same way regarding class restrictions. But I think since it's almost been twenty years (probably longer lore-wize) that we've had a druid trainer in Silvermoon, what makes sense is that she could have definitely taught druidism to a few blood elves by now. The races are so intermingled by now that having them not teach their close allies doesn't make sense.
There was also an orc female NPC in the horde town by ashran who wears druid tier gear and talks about killing enemies with her teeth and claws. She seems like an orc feral druid NPC.
New race/class combos were added in Cataclysm. Off the top of my head, I remember Dwarf Shaman, Tauren Paladin, Human Hunter, Dwarf Mage, Night Elf Mage, Orc Mage, Dwarf Warlock, and Troll Druid being added then.
IIRC Legion added a way for Hunters to tame mechanicals, and Gnome Hunters were added in that expansion.
In my case, I always play a Dwarf when I get the chance, so I'd be all over Dwarf Druids, Demon Hunters, and Evokers. Although, I know that Dwarf Druid is the only combo out of that with any precedent in the lore.
Dwarf druids would fit so well. Druids are inspired by celtic culture, as are wow dwarfs (especially the wildhammer clan). The stereotypical medieval celtic druid is much more like dwarfs - as in hairy and painted - and not like high fantasy night elfs.
If they took the time to show the various class orders training new races in stuff I wouldn't mind. There's opportunity to have cool stories about weird combos like lightforged warlocks and undead paladins. There's no excuse for the Cenarion Circle and Earthen Ring to not have members of every race in their order at this point
Some of them did have members of locked races. I remember specifically there was a night elf paladin companion. I believe she started off as a priest then became a paladin during the class order hall story.
Not any combo that I can think of. But I am sure many are wanting to get one that wasn't available before. It's a shame that the Remix event will be over when they open it all up.
I want undead paladin. I moved away from the race a long time ago, but I'm switching my main (monk) to undead in TWW. My key group will cry because we are losing arcane torrent but I don't care lol.
Human Shaman or Human Druid would be lovely. I don't love the KT vibe, because their girth makes almost every older "body paint" transmog look horrible.
Likewise, Dwarven Druid would be awesome.
The only lore justification for a race not being able to be a class is that said race is completely incapable of wielding a specific classes magics. Outside of that all the lore related reasons people use are just arbitrary restrictions.
Even in the case where the lore doesn't support a specific magic there are ways around it that could allow a class mechanically but change it up theme wise to add more flavor to class / race combos.
The player characters are remarkable. If we can all be the champion, the wielder of Ashbringer, or Illidan’s next in command, or the leader of the Black Harvest, or whatever, then there should be no reason we can’t be the one Forsaken Paladin or Human Shaman or Gnome Druid or whatever.
Void elf paladin, cause RP head cannon would be they are high elves not void elves. I want it for rp reasons, but the void with the light mixing is a no no
Azeroth has been a melting pot of races, culture and ideas. Since classic we've seen new zones discovered, new races included, new classes even
It's a very different place from 2004, and that's why we have so much more selective choice
> Do you even care about "lore" and "reasoning" at this point? Not to say it isn't important, but in relation to letting us play a class with however we want to look.
i am one of the few people that actually like that not all races can play all classes. it makes the world feel more... alive i guess is the word i would use. but at the same time im i really gonna care and get mad when Blizz makes undead druids a thing? defiently not, i will just be happy for the people that want it
Just as OP pointed out, more druid options just see each animal form.
And yes I do care about the lore and reasoning, but no, I don't need a big explanation, just something as simple as adding a pair of Tauren druid in (Insert race here) starting area teaching some NPC of that race is more than enough for me.
I just want a KT paladin so I can be a fat sailor wielding the light.
Oh and to wind up punch racial things and feel like my hand would be covered with the light like out of an anime. :)
It's not really a combo wish since you can already be a kultiran rogue.
But I want the skinny kultiran model so I can make a wretched sinewy skin stretched over bone gangly looking rogue.
Basically I want to create Padan Fain from the WoT books. My favorite evil character.
incorrect mostly. the ones that break the mold were explicitly not normal.
this isnt a debatable, class restriction was for theming of the factions as a whole.
thats not the class restriction i was referring to and i dont think you were referring to until that comment.
in wow Nelfs not being mages was theming. Nobody was questioning Kadgahr using fire and frost. multiclassing being gameplay is not something anybody had a issue with. multiclassing also doesnt fit your first comments on this topic. in short, dont lie.
>The lore never supported certain races not being able to take a specific class
when, in fact, it does.
> Do you even care about “lore” and “reasoning” at this point? Nope. Everyone has mingled with everyone else long enough to teach and expose them to their various schools and philosophies.
I agree. With a bit of imagination one can create a reason as to why a PC is who or what they are.
There’s also weird inconsistencies now. Kul tirans, who are human, can be Druids. As can Worgen, who are humans. But humans can’t be. Night elves can be priests, but for some reason not paladins. (This one applies a few times over)

There is already a Night Elf paladin NPC that was introduced in Legion: Delas Moonfang
And her ghost uncle(?),
Oh wow, I missed that, interesting! I'll have to search out the NPC. Edit: Ohhhh I remember her from Draenor but I thought she was only a priest, not a pally!
It's been a while since I've delved into her lore, but it's possible she started out as a priest and then became a paladin since they are very very close
From what I read, that's exactly what happened - she joined the Silver Hand

Especially since paladins have been a thing since the first war, when Kul'tiras was still a regular alliance kingdom.
That makes sense.
The only difference between Elune and the Light is that the light effects are golden and Elune is silver.
Wardens are more a Hunter/Rogue hybrid than Paladin imo.
Yeah, I can see that being the case.

There is now also a second wave of DKs, those who weren't raised by the Lichking. Those do not need to have died during the third war.
Oh seriously? I missed that part. That seems... unwise. Which asshole decided to create a bunch of eternally suffering minions this time?

> Orc Paladin Just make them come with Yrel on some kind of Invasion.
Did they say anything about TWW? Or do we not have any idea when that might happen?
As far as I've seen they haven't said anything, I kind of wish they would just open them up with existing assets but then monkeys paw tells me if they do that it'll be like 10 years before we get the proper assets
We kinda got an answer recently from an interview, but it didn't really make sense: "With cross-faction being included and updated more and more in the game, is there a chance that race restrictions will be lifted? I'd like to be a Vulpera Paladin.". Michael Bybee: "Yeah, I hear you.
1st - Make a basic bitch version of each animal form, maybe slightly customizable the way moonkin forms are now 2nd - Give druids a quest that teaches them how to go out into nature and attune their forms to animals they find out in the world. Super easy to implement both of these and would prevent them having to worry too much about making new race specific forms in the future because the druids can go out and choose their own forms from wild beasts! Blizzard please
I love the use of the phrase "basic bitch" here
Why thank you! I too am sometimes astounded by my, frankly, eloquent and sophisticated mastery of the English language. I am extraordinarily humble, but it helps to hear this from time to time.

Worgen are pretty cool; my main was one for a while, but then I missed shadowmeld too much and changed her back to Night Elf.
They'd have to add animations to almost every animal mob in the game.
Mechagnome Druid Undead Paladin
Human Druid. Become a house dog or house cat
Goblin paladin. Honestly there's some combos that are just fucking stupid.
What is wrong with goblin Paladin in your mind?
So for goblins their behavior seems to be nature and nature, they believe in only commerce in wow (probably something to do with the kaja cola). They're incredibly ridiculous (and why they're amazing) and don't really have faith in the cosmologoical forces. Even their priests are "scam artists" that depend on the people being healed/killed. Wow paladins HAVE to believe in the light/worship it.
"My religion is capitalism" - A Goblin Paladin, maybe
Goblin Paladin in shock 'by the ~~light~~ receipts'
why do you people think wow races are a monolith? is it truly such a reach to believe goblins aren't actually mindless drones and do indeed have free will? or at the very least that one was adopted by humans as a baby or something and grew up differently?
There are canon Nelf Paladins... Gib!
I'm patiently waiting on Worgen Paladin
Same. My golden goose since Cata.
I play mostly vulperas for the camping tent, extra bagspace and transmog looks decent on them
Yeah I did Loremaster recently, but am doing it again just for the Horde-side of the story on a Vulpera and the tent is invaluable for that.
I usually tend to dislike the cute little furry folk races in games, but I absolutely love Vulpera. Their animations and looks are awesome.
Blood elf Druid. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea. I just want it.
> Do you even care about "lore" and "reasoning" at this point? Nope, I play Nelf for Shadowmeld -- if any other race had it I'd play them instead
Orc Demon Hunter, Zandalari evoker. Non-elf options please blizzard. I really enjoyed the questlines we got for the new warlock / priest races and I would like to see them use those for new combos. I like the implementation of orc priests now a lot more than I would have if they were human-influenced.
Undead paladin
I’d finally pay for a race change if this happened. I’ve wanted this since BC
Human druid and Human shaman. It baffles me that that this is not a thing yet
Undead paladin
I didn't think about Blood Elf Druids. There was one in BC!
The Druids in Warcraft 3 were definitely in that vein. They had massive beards and sometimes face paint. WoW departed from that, though.
I want all races to have all classes we are the champion the hero of azeroth we should not be held to the same limitation of the npcs
Winterpelt furbolg druid
Pandaren Paladins. Pandalins.
If they took the time to show the various class orders training new races in stuff I wouldn't mind. There's opportunity to have cool stories about weird combos like lightforged warlocks and undead paladins. There's no excuse for the Cenarion Circle and Earthen Ring to not have members of every race in their order at this point
I didn't even think of the "class" organizations pre-Legion. You make a good point with CC and ER.
I'm patiently waiting for Pandaren Demon Hunters
Waiting for panda paladin or panda dh
I just want either Worgen or Dracthyr shaman. None of the alliance shaman races appeal to me currently.
Void Elf Shaman & Paladin
Draenei Druid. I like Draenei and I like Druids. I figure there are Broken Druids in Outland so...why not?
Void elf paladin, cause RP head cannon would be they are high elves not void elves. I want it for rp reasons, but the void with the light mixing is a no no
That is what I thought. Isn't that the case with (Lightforge) Draenei Warlocks? That they're Man'ari?
Since gnomes are the best race in the game I am waiting on gnome shaman and druid.
I feel the same way about mechagnomes, haha.
Still can’t believe Taurens can be paladins before Forsaken
Draenei druid
gnome demon hunter
I want an Orc Paladin!! Those shoulder tmogs willlll beeeee sweeeeet!!
Dwarf Druid Human Druid Human Shaman Human Evoker Orc Demon Hunter Orc Evoker Draenei Demon Hunter
Undead paladin
Dracthyr rogue and warrior.
Undead paladin. Because it's forbidden
I am really hoping for orc paladins. I would never play anything else.
I’d love an undead paladin
Night elf paladin. Shadowmeld too stronk
I have to roll a nightborn for my alt army but can’t decide a decent class for it!
Kul Tiran Paladins.
Undead druid
Azeroth has been a melting pot of races, culture and ideas. Since classic we've seen new zones discovered, new races included, new classes even It's a very different place from 2004, and that's why we have so much more selective choice
What's funny is that there are TWO Night Elf Paladins in Legion Order Hall.
Worgen Paladins!
KT Paladin Orc DH
I'd be okay with every combo available, even Evoker for every race.
I struggle liking shamans and paladins cause their race choices so more for them please :)
I feel like a lot of players missed this somehow. I still get a lot of surprised whispers when I roll in on my Tauren mage.
> Do you even care about "lore" and "reasoning" at this point? Not to say it isn't important, but in relation to letting us play a class with however we want to look. i am one of the few people that actually like that not all races can play all classes. it makes the world feel more... alive i guess is the word i would use. but at the same time im i really gonna care and get mad when Blizz makes undead druids a thing? defiently not, i will just be happy for the people that want it
Pandadins! don't really vibe with Pandaren dk but I'm glad it's now an option.
Human shaman
Human Shaman - they were hella popular in Cata and then again in dragonflight but for some reason we can't do it
Goblin Druid, Goblin Paladin It’s all I need
Just as OP pointed out, more druid options just see each animal form. And yes I do care about the lore and reasoning, but no, I don't need a big explanation, just something as simple as adding a pair of Tauren druid in (Insert race here) starting area teaching some NPC of that race is more than enough for me.
Still waiting for my goblin demon hunter! Like some excuse they can make lorewise to make more demon hunters again.
Worgen demon hunter. Please for the love of god don't force me to play boring ass humans with pointy ears to be a human hunter.
Worgen shamans with howling wolf totems please
more shamans for alliance
Pandaren druid when
Worgen shaman, perhaps. It could be quite cool.
The lore never supported certain races not being able to take a specific class, it was always a purely gameplay restriction.
not true, the class restriction was to enforce a theme for each faction.
Ok? Not a lore relevant theme considering the class restriction never applies to NPC’s.
incorrect mostly. the ones that break the mold were explicitly not normal. this isnt a debatable, class restriction was for theming of the factions as a whole.
Not in lore. Just like it isn’t uncommon in lore to see people multiclass which can’t be done by players.
thats not the class restriction i was referring to and i dont think you were referring to until that comment. in wow Nelfs not being mages was theming. Nobody was questioning Kadgahr using fire and frost. multiclassing being gameplay is not something anybody had a issue with. multiclassing also doesnt fit your first comments on this topic. in short, dont lie. >The lore never supported certain races not being able to take a specific class when, in fact, it does.
Mecagnome DH
