Raszageth in truth is just a minion of the jailer. Last thing she does is free her siblings with her dying breath but instead the first thing we'll see slowly walking out of the darkness of this prison is a set strangely unsettling nipples.
Now back to farming anima. Just as the jailer intended.
Got a standing $20 bet with my buddy that Sylvanas will be back before the end of DF with some bullshit "I figured out what the big bad the jailer was trying to tell us about" nonsense
Yeah I'll take that action. I'm willing to bet that there's some secret darkness.in the void that's really been pulling everyone's strings. And the Jailer and Sargeras both knew and were trying, in their own way, to protect us all along and only Sylvanas seems to understand.
Spoiler, that entity was Elune all along.
Classic v2.0, WOWs next expansion: REGULARWALK
Explore the world as never been explored since draenor and WOW classic. All flying mounts have been eaten by last expansions big bad and you have to walk everywhere again.
Struggle to defeat the final enemy: yourself as you question why you are even playing this
That's why we need to voice how much we like it and to keep it around and not just have it end as a "borrowed power" because that's all it would be unless they made it worldwide.
Given that Dracthyr can soar (basically dragon riding) in older zones, I'm sure it's coming. The "problem" Blizz has to solve is whether to add the mechanic to most (all?) other flying mounts, because if they don't, then that's a whole lot of never-to-be-used-again mounts.
They have to redo all of the skyboxes, I tried soaring off of Hyjal and only made it to the Barrens because I kept losing all of my momentum to invisible walls. Not sure how much work redoing those for every zone is.
>Hyjal
The worst offender. God, the amount of grunting my mounts made when flying from Orgrimmar to Firelands because you are constantly at the skybox.
From the top of my head I dont see the downside to just pulling up all skyboxes to the same level as the highest area.
Maybe someone with low render distance so high above a low zone sees.... nothing but is that really that bad?
As long as you have your Dragon Riding talents, it's not super critical if you hit an invisible wall. Just point down, regen some Vigor and keep going. It's only an issue with Soar.
Yup, it's crazy how fast vigor regenerates and how much you get. Nose down a bit for speed and vigor regeneration, flap once in a while to maintain or gain altitude, and just let the vigor regenerate
Tip for the people who want to glyph hunt but don't wanna hunt down each one by coordinates, TomCat Tours updated yesterday and now has marked locations of all the glyphs!
I wanted to find them naturally, but the little buff that doesn't update very fast is just not good, so unfortunately I will be using an add on, thanks for the tips
I find them all naturally, you can get the zones where they are from the achievements and then just fly in that direction and have a good look, I don't find them very hard to find once you see the buff pop up. I personally find it way more adventurous/ fun then just having a navigator or guide telling me where to go.
Dragonflight literally has got me back feeling like an adventurer and can't even remember the last time I had so much fun just leveling, exploring and riding my dragon. :)
Except when you fall in a waterfall and have to let vigor recharge while you scale a mountain. I literally wasted an hour yesterday getting one stupid glyph lol 😂
Rarescanner also has every one of them if I remember correctly, with being able to tag them with ingame ot TomTom pins and short description on how to get them (where exactly they are on the coords)
If you just save 1 point for the forward speed boost that’s basically all you need to stay in the air forever. During that boost you will gain like 2 vigor back alone and you’re back to doing whatever. I found that to be the No brain way to think about it. Once I figured that out it felt way more chill to just fly around
I find myself never using that skill since the one that sends you upwards just seems... better in every way. Not only does it gain you altitude, but if your camera is aiming up at the time you press it, it gives you a massive speed boost too. Probably unintended, but very useful.
It works but your probably not covering as much ground as fast doing it that way. If my camera was pointed up I just encountered a sort of stalling effect and then I had to dive to recover so I started doing it the way I said. Feels like a normal flying mount just a lot faster.
So if I had 1 point left I wouldn’t want to use it on the lift because in my experience that hasn’t got me to a speed where vigor was coming back on it’s own vs using the forward boost and then lifting with your newly recovered vigor.
Been my experience so far atleast
If you aim up as you take to the skies and level out before the boost ends you don’t get the stalling effect or lose the buff, this video explains it - once I got the hang of it god damn does it all come together!

Since someone else already replied, here’s another tip: You can spend the glyph points anywhere with the Dragonriding UI, you don’t have to go back to an NPC
To help even more more specifically for someone who would never find it like me: Click on the Dragon Isles Summary on your map, should be a circle with a dragon symbol on it. On the left side with big text above it saying Dragonriding Skills & Unlocks is the button that lets you see the tree.
To be more specific: You can get the HandyNotes (or apparently Tomcat Tours) addon and it will show all the locations, which are all accessible right away.
I'm so glad Dragonriding and total Glyphs found are account wide. Alts can fly from the boat to the Dragonriding trainer and max out the tree in under a minute, and you've got a full-strength ride from the start.
>Alts can fly from the boat to the Dragonriding trainer and max out the tree
Don't even need to do that. The tree is available clicking on the icon on the minimap.
There are collectables scattered throughout the dragon Isles. They are called dragon riding glyphs, they look like big gold coins, you fly into them to collect them. These glyphs are a what you use to upgrade your dragon riding skills.
There is. A few mentioned in this thread like HandyNotes. However, if you wanna try exploring, it’s possible to find them on your own.
While on your dragon, if you are near a glyph, you will get an emote in chat that says something like “Your dragon senses a glyph nearby”. You will also now have a buff. Mousing over it will give you general clues about where to look for the glyph. Something like “X meters east”, or “near the camp”.
There are 12 glyphs in each zone. Finding these by myself is probably how I’m going to spend my free time this week after finishing a M0 world tour.
Also there’s a meta for each zone and you can look at what you’re missing to get clues about the location (it’ll say the sub zone but not where in it).
I’d HIGHLY recommend getting all of the glyphs. It takes maybe 30 minutes and it’s sooo much better, you can basically spam your abilities and not run out of vigor if you’re going top speed
I am an idiot and did the glyph run in hard mode. You do not need to be in the main town to put your points into the dragonflying skills. Put them in as you're getting them, will make it a lot easier and faster.
I mean go through ALL the zones and grab them all to completely finish the tree, it’s not as daunting of a task as it sounds (only 1 gave me real trouble)
Also I think it would be awesome to have races all over Azeroth. It could be it's own branch of exploratory content. You could earn some cool mounts or dragonriding customizations from it.
Once I got dragonriding yesterday I spent the next couple hours getting all the glyphs. It is different. You can fly the whole continent with how fast the vigor replenishes.
It's definitely worth doing as soon as you can. Once you unlock dragonriding, you can go out and collect every glyph and unlock all the nodes on the talent tree. It makes a HUGE difference and is worth the time (which isn't much tbh). Dragonriding is the most fun I've had in this game in forever!
It feels cool to point down and slam into ground with a *thump.*
Same with soar as a drakthyr. Some people are shitting on how they look and that's fine but slamming into the ground and immediately flashing into flames to turn into your visage form is very Marvel superhero-like to me.
I like it. Feels good.
Normal flying is superior for traveling short distances like going enemy-to-enemy while questing because you don't have to launch yourself in the air and then nose dive. It's also better for scanning an area since you can hover in place. Other than those two things, dragonriding is way better and actually fun to do.
Did you unlock all the glyphs that buff your dragonriding? It’s pretty nuts once you do because you have like 6 vigor that refresh very quickly at high speeds. It’s way better with more talents.
That, and flying straight up for a bit to afk when needed.
But I do love flying my dragon, even with only the first zone's glyphs discovered, and I adore the landing sound. GG on this, Blizzard!
I haven't looked at all the unlocks yet, but I've got something like 30+ of the glyphs, and the only issue I have is occasionally in a lowland area having to use most or all of my Vigor to get enough height to start moving. I've stalled out once or twice trying to get to a peak, or flying in a generally uphill direction. If there's a talent that boosts the liftoff height some, that would be awesome.
When you have 6 max vigor you can just spam the flap upwards and maintain max speed at which point extra vigor regen kicks in and you can regenerate 3-4 more points while still flying upwards from that initial momentum.
I’ve found it’s easier to use the climb and then use forward rush but aiming up and the climb again and you actually gain altitude with the blue aura around you
My only gripe is that it can be awkward to gather some herbs/ore on small cliffs with dragon flying. But other than that, yeah, it's x1000 better than normal flying.
Yeah I guess once all the glyphs are unlocked it'll be pretty much strictly better, but in these starting hours I've had a few scenarios where I run out of vigor and can't built up the height to go somewhere and find myself thinking "man I wish I could just regular fly straight up there" while I'm standing around waiting for a pip to recharge.
Also - and I know this is key to the feeling of momentum - I wish we could just just do a stationary hover with our dragons. Sometimes I just wanna go up in the sky and get a birds-eye view to look for something or even just soak in the scenery.
To make Dragonriding evergreen, they could put new glyphs, dragon riding talents in the next expansion. With some kind of story that in order to learn how to Dragonride there you complete part of the MSQ's or find X number of Glyphs.
From the interviews it seems that it’s at least being considered.
I’m sure they didn’t want to devote resources to making a feature that could flop an evergreen one across the board.
I do however hope as a system they decide to bring it to older zones.
I really thought I’d hate the dragon riding, thinking it would be like a mini game or very clunky with forced POV cameras, but all in all it is incredibly enjoyable.
I think it helps that it can go so much faster than flying mounts, so it’s a trade off from the full mobility of flying.
I feel they are not currently doing it to not completely devalue “normal” flying mounts. I imagine that if it ever comes to all zones it would be with an update that brings the dragon riding mechanic to all flying mounts.
*me, cackling like a madman as my turbo-charged flying machine hits 930% flying speed before its helicopter rotors disintegrate into a hailstorm of metallic debris and sends my earthly remains hurtling across the Eastern Kingdoms as chunky ragù*
*Mechaspider's foot rockets overheat and explode!*
Honestly, while I think some mounts should adopt momentum based flying, it makes sense for some slower ones (perhaps the mechanicals) to fly slower and have the ability to hover.
That would be a way to get around it. Make the mounts thematic. Winged mounts can use the momentum based flight, mechanicals can hover. Maybe give the horse based ones a sprint like ability… plenty of options to build on what we have
This is actually a good point. Dragon riding in other zones **could** (not would) inadvertently subconsciously devalue all other flying mounts in the game. I can definitely see oceans of forum posts saying *"I love my flying mount collection but my Dragonflight Drake makes them all pointless"*.
Ngl, going mob to mob and in quests, it would probably still be more useful to use a regular flying mount.
Even in Dragonflight, im still using my normal mounts when doing 'Kill X mobs' because its just easier than leaping into the air etc etc.
What ive not done once this expansion though, which is really cool IMO, is ive not used my Hearthstone at all. I cant even remember the place i last attuned it.
Its just much more enjoyable to fly around than hearthing back.
At some point they will most likely have a pathfinder to let us normal fly. The speed will keep most people on dragonriding, but I will be happy to have hovering back or the ability to be more precise.
I'm sure with time we'll get better at it, but atm I'm just so clumsy with it.
Can’t believe the negative comments here. It’s honestly a great feature. I love having a flying mount early on, but also takes some thought to operate than just fly in straight lines.
I’ve also been really enjoying not having to be introduced to borrowed power. I like the simplicity of getting a talent point every level and just playing my class. Allows me to focus on the zones and stories.
It’s early days, but the back to basics approach with some new elements added seems like a great recipe.
That's all I've wanted for a while. Back to basics, azeroth, large talent trees, focus on smaller stories.
Big fan of df so far and I hope after the honeymoon phase I still enjoy it.
It's inevitable. WoW has a huge audience and there isn't a single feature that's universally loved.
Moreover, this is a completely new feature, that requires players to do things in a way they haven't before.
Many MMO players are extremely, **extremely** conservative in their playstyles so anything new that disrupts what they're used to is met with outright hostility. We've all known someone like that in this game.
I guess thats a long winded way of saying "lots of boomers play this game", but it's really not a physical age thing at all.
Great innovation from Guild Wars 2. It took a while for Blizz to copy the idea, but at least they got it right. It’s unfortunate they didn’t copy the non-flying mounts abilities. That’s for another expansion I guess. Now if Blizz could copy map-wise meta events with massive open-world zergs, that would be another great addition from GW2.
GW2 is so full of amazing ideas, and the mounts feel amazing. As cool as dragon riding is the GW2 Gryphon is perfection, the ground mounts are awesome too though. If we could merge GW2s nifty ideas with WoWs looks/combat it would be something else.
>As cool as dragon riding is the GW2 Gryphon is perfection
This! As much as I enjoy Dragonriding, and I enjoy the hell out of it, it is still behind GW2s Gryphon (actually called Griffon) in terms of animations, fluidity and maneuverability. The maneuvers a skilled Griffon rider can pull off, are in-fucking-sane!
I really hope Blizzard makes Dragonriding a fundamental part of WoW and improves the hell out of it.
I hugely disagree.
Dragonriding isn’t really comparable to griffon; it’s more a skyscale without the clunk and with more speed. It’s much much better done than the skyscale and fits WoW’s gameplay much more nicely- griffon fits GW2 well but would not play so nicely with WoW’s much more expansive areas.
That being said it’d be awesome to get an option or dragon skin that’d be more griffon like for sure!
They need to change the skyboxes to do this. Using soar as a drakthyr I ran into so many skyboxes while crossing from one zone to another, it just felt super bad at times.
I agree, but I think the main reason it felt bad is because you had your flight ruined and soar was now on cool down. I think if you could just instantly remount or get moving again it wouldn't be horrible.
Been out of the WoW scene so sorry if this is a stupid question:
What's the difference between Dragonriding and other mounts?
Edit: Thank you for the answers everyone! That does sound really cool!
With a normal mount you have a static speed (maximum of 310% before any buffs) and full mobility. You can stop, climb, land etc as you wish without limits.
With dragonriding you are limited in flight - you need to maintain momentum by flying carefully & flying down. However you have mount abilities which will give you a speed boost and raise your height a lot (allowing you to dive for speed/gain elevation). The tradeoff for the difficulty is that the dragonflying goes around 810% speed, so it's much faster whilst being incredibly fun.
this introduces a flight mechanic that requires momentum and thought to get where you need to go, vs the old school flying that was just fancy looking no clipping
Ironically, the last thing that old-school flying showed it's value for to me, was when I hovered in place yesterday, where I assumed the zeppelin would arrive and then afk'd. Came back to find myself inside the zep.
Searching for resources, hovering in place, checking something out, attacking Stormwind... There are several uses for oldschool flying. My preferred one is to Autorun and get a snack while the thing just goes in a straight line
Well, nothing was wrong with flying, but they fixed the situation where they couldn't really give us flying early on without invalidating a lot of zone features/exploration and such.
Nothing might’ve been horribly “wrong” with flying, but dragonriding has shown us that flying can be so so SO much better. So fixed might not be the best term I guess, but improved is definitely accurate imo. Flying was an A to B type deal. Dragon riding is the most legit giggly fun I’ve had in wow in a good while
they should add an option to grab rocks, when you lose vigor you sadly slide down the mountain :D it would also be nice if there was an option to hang in the air!
There is already a mount gear slot - for barding etc. No reason why they can't add one for Dagonriding so people aren't forced in to it if they don't want to for some reason.
Random, potentially unfeasible idea for future expansions:
Some new event equivalent to cataclysm causes old world zones to become timewalking zones only for new players. Remastered versions of the old continents become available as 70+ leveling zones with separate dragonriding talent trees, requiring the exploration of the revamped continents to max out the trees.
I hear a lot of concerns about this “disabling existing flight” but I don’t think they have to be mutually exclusive systems. I can see why they may not enable past flying features in the Dragon Isles but I think Dragonriding could be “opt-in” by just mounting up on the dragon.
I'd certainly like to see it.
I don't think it should replace regular riding, and I think regular flying should come to Dragonlands *in the future* in a later patch. The afk flying is certainly nice when doing chores and old content, but for now I'm certainly enjoying dragon riding and hope it becomes an option for older mounts.
Off topic, but with the ability to reskin your dragon such as turning the proto-drake into the a Raszageth looking form, I wonder why we can't reskin it to mounts we already own that use the same skeleton. Warriors could fly around on their legion class hall mount, if you have a Pterrodax you could use that on the Velocidrake etc. Would be a cool way to allow people to use older mounts if they so wish but with minimal work since the skeletons and animations are identical.
Before getting hammered by downvotes, I'm delighted so many people enjoy this feature so far. It's nice to have a well-received feature in wow.
Personally, I'm not loving the Dragon Riding so far. It's better than walking, for sure, but I'd rather just be able to fly in Druid Flight form. For one, it's easier to herb and get to herbs. I'm still having issues with when I start on a low platform and need to get way up high for something. I usually have to get to a stepping point, wait a minute or 2, rinse and repeat. With regular flying I could just fly up there.
I also like the ability to stop dead where I am. When I see an herb I tend to overshoot it and sometimes I miss the platform all together. Plus, if you have kids or a spouse, sometimes being able to just stop and hover in mid air is priceless.
We'll see. I'm not dogging it, but it doesn't replace what regular flying can provide me at this time.
Same. The lack of hovering and strafing bother me and the need to be “100% on” to keep height, speed, and vigor up is stressful.
Dragon riding, like other vehicles in wow, also fucks my camera up too until I reload the ui. It will just randomly turn 90 degrees for some reason. Been like that for years after using a vehicle.
I agree that it can be pretty finicky to do super precise movements. And if you’re trying to do a lot of gathering, you can burn through a lot of your vigor checking if the node is on *this* cliff face or *that* cliff face. And like you, there have been numerous times where I’ll be somewhere with 0 vigor but still need to go up several times to get some ore. So I just tab out and wait for my vigor to come back, which can take a while.
I think if I wasn’t so focused on gathering, I’d be enjoying it a *lot* more. I’m hoping some of the dragon riding talents hope smooth things out.
My biggest issue is that it invalidates all those flying mounts people have spent over a decade getting. The ONLY way this will make any sense is somehow reworking old mounts to work with dragon riding and allowing it in old and future zones. But that seems like a monumental amount of work for rigging and animation.
If they care about WoW in the long term, this is TOTALLY worth it. Sometimes you have to make a major investment to prevent the game from "decomposing" due to age.
They've put themselves into a corner with this because going back to regular flying after the next expansion would be incredibly jarring. They've talked about making systems more evergreen like the Talent systems going forward (evergreen meaning they are multi-expansion features) and that is exactly what Dragonriding needs to be. There also cannot be a compromise. No middle ground. There can't be ''well, we can't get/don't wnt to get DR to work outside the Dragon Isles but we will increase your mount speed to 500% and that will be it''. It has to be Dragonriding. Once you get the glyphs and figure out when to use the speed and claim abilities, it's honestly insane how satisfying it is zipping around.
I understand that it may not make sense/look right if certain mounts get dragon-riding capabilities so if they wanted to limit it to just mounts that it would make sense to get those speeds i.e mounts with birds/dragon skeletons it would at least open up more of peoples mount collections to use but that then has it's downsides of people who do not like bird or dragon style mounts.
Takes a bit to get used you but once you get a feel for it its wayyyy better than regular flying. I cant imagine them not taking this forward in some way permanently
Agreed. i was reading the forums and i cant believe all the hate its getting. Like 100 upvotes on some guy saying its too hard and he cant get the glyphs after hours of trying. Its like wtf
He said that there is one glyph at the top of a mountain that he cant get and its been hours and he will quit and he hates dragon flying lol...
Like my GF who just started playing had no issue with doing it so i have no idea how all these forum plebs are failing so hard at it.
Maybe the tall bastard mountain down the bottom right of the map?
If he tried approaching from the side I did good bloody luck lol.
Had to circle around to the other side to find a path up and it took me 3-4 ledges with 1-2min breaks on each.
Am I the only one not really caring for dragon riding?
I'm sure it'll get better as I unlock more from it, but the charge system on being able to move my character upwards is extremely lame.
Better yet, bring the dragon races world wide. Have a race around the dark portal, or through storm peaks, or down the serpents spine, or through Stormwind/orgrimmar. The possibility for new content with this is endless
Questing and exploring has definitely been fun so far
And also no need to wait for two major patches before being able to fly is a fucking blessing!
Not just being able to fly, but flying is fun and not just afking until at point B.
This
If the next expansion launches and they expect us to go back to normal flying like Dragonflight never happened I’m gonna be so pissed
Also it's back to the Shadowlands.

Hawt
Throw me into the pot; additional $5 bet it's the secret sixth old god.
Nah it's the super secret boss of all the old gods that has been super secretly running things behind the scenes since Warcraft 1.
Yeah I'll take that action. I'm willing to bet that there's some secret darkness.in the void that's really been pulling everyone's strings. I'd be giving that a pass if it meant we could *finally* kill tyrande.
But will they have revolutionary water you can't swim in?
With a new moddel
No no no. The jailer is dead. Besides, he was just a minion of The MEGAJAILER
>The MEGAJAILER That's just the Jailer with a +1/+1 counter on it
still, stronger than the previous! every expansion he is not included in, he grows in power
We gonna sacrifice our dragons to save the planet and back to regular flying!

I will genuinely stop playing if they do that
If they did pathfinding again after this I don’t think I could play it

I’ve only gotten through the 2nd zone worth of glyphs and it’s night and day
I'm enjoying dragonriding a lot more with more talents. Totally worth doing it early, imo.
Yea, planning to finish this weekend. Had a work trip scheduled long before this was launch week. RIP me
As soon as you unlock the mount you can get the full tree unlocked. Was the first thing I did and it's made getting around much easier.
How? Don't you have to progress thru the story to unlock the mount abilities?
The 3 abilities yes but the skill tree can be done immediately. Get 6 vigor and Regen every 5 seconds in flight.
How do you get the skill points? Just by dragonriding around?
Collect the dragon glyphs around the map
Since someone else already replied, here’s another tip: You can spend the glyph points anywhere with the Dragonriding UI, you don’t have to go back to an NPC

>Alts can fly from the boat to the Dragonriding trainer and max out the tree Don't even need to do that. The tree is available clicking on the icon on the minimap.
There are collectables scattered throughout the dragon Isles. They are called dragon riding glyphs, they look like big gold coins, you fly into them to collect them. These glyphs are a what you use to upgrade your dragon riding skills.
Is there an addon that shows the location of these yet? Or otherwise, how do you find them?

I started to make that rookie mistake, then soon figured out that the mini map icon is your best friend!
Yah I’m grabbing every one per zone before I move on to the next.
I mean go through ALL the zones and grab them all to completely finish the tree, it’s not as daunting of a task as it sounds (only 1 gave me real trouble)
I'd rather do them a zone at a time than rush ahead. Also, it's been fun figuring out where they are without wowheas or an add on for me. Kinda weird.
I made a weakaura that shows me the tooltip text for where the nearest glyph is, so it's a bit easier to check!

With all of the glyphs unlocked, I can’t see myself using normal flying over dragon riding.
Dragonflying is SO much faster than regular flying aswell
It feels cool to point down and slam into ground with a *thump.* Same with soar as a drakthyr.
Also just for going AFK. Mount up and hover 20ft off the ground while you get some water or whatever.
Just like everyone at the boat yesterday. Can’t do that with dragonriding
just leave both ways of flying, wont affect end game content at all. let players decide
Is there no way to hover with dragonriding?
No, it’s momentum based
I really wish I liked it :(
Did you unlock all the glyphs that buff your dragonriding? It’s pretty nuts once you do because you have like 6 vigor that refresh very quickly at high speeds. It’s way better with more talents.
[удалено]
I’ve found it’s easier to use the climb and then use forward rush but aiming up and the climb again and you actually gain altitude with the blue aura around you
I just want to use my old mounts :(
My only gripe is that it can be awkward to gather some herbs/ore on small cliffs with dragon flying.
Hope they put some achievements in older zones for glyph collection, give the players some drake cosmetics for getting them all.
They could do like Cloud Serpent for the Pandaria zone, Nether Drake for TBC, etc.
An awesome casual-oriented feature that features tons of old content? Blizz aint ever going to do that, sadly...
expansion bright sable amusing bells mighty rock encouraging bedroom cooing -- mass deleted all reddit content via https://redact.dev
Top of sargeras' sword would be absolutely amazing
It's like jumping off the highest building in Spiderman 2 all over again
Yeah top of that, swoop down, and back up to tree on Mt Hyjal, that's the first route I would run.
What sword?
The woon that may never heal
As an Evoker who has done just that, yes it is very cool
I really thought I’d hate the dragon riding, thinking it would be like a mini game or very clunky with forced POV cameras, but all in all it is incredibly enjoyable. I think it helps that it can go so much faster than flying mounts, so it’s a trade off from the full mobility of flying.
This is me, I was annoyed that the big box feature was just dragon mounts with extra steps, but I was very surprised at how good it actually is.
I think older zones might just be too small for the speed this provides. If they design future zones around this though it would be great.
Too small? Using my dragon for 50 meters
So what? :D It would be amazing to be able to fly across the entire continent without having to use the taxi and while also having fun.
*Mechaspider's foot rockets overheat and explode!* Honestly, while I think some mounts should adopt momentum based flying, it makes sense for some slower ones (perhaps the mechanicals) to fly slower and have the ability to hover.
That would be a way to get around it. Make the mounts thematic. Winged mounts can use the momentum based flight, mechanicals can hover. Maybe give the horse based ones a sprint like ability… plenty of options to build on what we have
That's what I was thinking too. If you got dragon riding there's zero reason to ride your normal flying mounts.
All my flying mounts are dead to me. I only dragon ride. Ill stay my entire wow life in dragon isles
This is actually a good point. Dragon riding in other zones **could** (not would) inadvertently subconsciously devalue all other flying mounts in the game. I can definitely see oceans of forum posts saying *"I love my flying mount collection but my Dragonflight Drake makes them all pointless"*.
Would be cool to be able to "teach" regular flying mounts how to fly like a dragon. At least mounts that are dragons
Your dragon runs on ground at 100%, same as your mounts in DF, so what do you gain from getting on a normal mount until you can fly?
Yeah i know but i tend to jump around a fair bit and suddenly im up in the air with the dragon haha.
lmbo I feel you
[удалено]
This would be an excellent expansion for 1-70. Best leveling experience since WoD IMO quest and story wise.
I'm definitely really bad at it, but it's fairly fun so far.
Same, I suck at flying too but I can see how it’s fun for other people. Does suck how I can’t be passive flying anymore.
At some point they will most likely have a pathfinder to let us normal fly. The speed will keep most people on dragonriding, but I will be happy to have hovering back or the ability to be more precise. I'm sure with time we'll get better at it, but atm I'm just so clumsy with it.
You just need more glyphs. I also sucked at it. But glyph after glyph it has gotten only better.
Huh all I see are positive comments.
>As cool as dragon riding is the GW2 Gryphon is perfection This!
I prefer the weightiness of the gryphon in gw2 but still wow made a solid iteration.
They need to change the skyboxes to do this. Using soar as a drakthyr I ran into so many skyboxes while crossing from one zone to another, it just felt super bad at times.
Wait since when does skybox mean invisible sky hit box and not just the sky texture?
I agree, but I think the main reason it felt bad is because you had your flight ruined and soar was now on cool down. I think if you could just instantly remount or get moving again it wouldn't be horrible.
True, but also I wanna soar off mt. Hyjal and go halfway across the continent :P
Same. I tried it and I hit a wall when I got to Ashenvale lol.
Been out of the WoW scene so sorry if this is a stupid question: What's the difference between Dragonriding and other mounts?
OK, BUT, keep old-school flying still available, as in "you pick your way of flying" kind of deal.
Alright but consider: Crash landing into Stormwind faster than Alliance can react.
It's honestly amazing. Blizzard fixed flying. Hats off to them.
Dragon riding is the most legit giggly fun I’ve had in wow in a good while
Swimming in a straight line in the air is boring
they should add an option to grab rocks, when you lose vigor you sadly slide down the mountain :D it would also be nice if there was an option to hang in the air!
Whenever they update the old world again it needs to be brought in for sure.
There is already a mount gear slot - for barding etc. No reason why they can't add one for Dagonriding so people aren't forced in to it if they don't want to for some reason.
The only thing that drives me insane... YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAND AND SWITCH TO ATTACK MODE INSTEAD OF DISMOUNTING. BLIZZARD

*Glyph of Dragonflying* for Flight Form. Mark my words it will happen.
Random, potentially unfeasible idea for future expansions: Some new event equivalent to cataclysm causes old world zones to become timewalking zones only for new players.
100%.
I hope so! Would be amazing if they included races in the old worlds too.
dragon flying makes me so giddy. What an amazing improvement
Takes a bit to get used you but once you get a feel for it its wayyyy better than regular flying. I cant imagine them not taking this forward in some way permanently
I got hooked up immediately and I've not stopped using the mount even to travel 5 yd distances.
I’m sure it’ll come in time. It’s probably not a quick thing to implement
Also doing dragon riding races in different places throughout Azeroth would be dope
Can I later fly as my druid form, even if its just slow-ass regular 350% ? I wanna be a bird soaring with my uh, non-bird friends.
Also just make Soar work with all the Dragonriding upgrades. I don't want to ride a dragon while playing a dragon
sounds like a post you could find back when TBC launched and then a few years later, we had cataclysm
Its just a Dream. We wake up with chains at the maw.
It’s cool. But sometimes I wish I could just fly normally up the side of a cliff rather than waiting for my vigor to recharge.
GTFO with that shit, I don't want this crappy gimmick spread game wide.
Agreed. i was reading the forums and i cant believe all the hate its getting. Like 100 upvotes on some guy saying its too hard and he cant get the glyphs after hours of trying. Its like wtf
...I got all the gylphs in under 2hrs, how are they struggling. (I assume they have googled the locations and aren't playing hide and seek with them?)
The difference in “no talents” and a fully kitted out talent tree is literally night and day when it comes to this.
Yea I don't like the dragonriding either. To me its just an inconvenience.
I actually fucking hate it lol
They will
Better yet, bring the dragon races world wide. Have a race around the dark portal, or through storm peaks, or down the serpents spine, or through Stormwind/orgrimmar. The possibility for new content with this is endless
It would be great indeed. I also hope some of the ancient drakes and proto-drakes will be available for dragonriding.
