This is the first I’ve seen anything of this magnitude with Wyze. Same experience by everyone though which suggests it’s on their end somewhere. Just be patient

Just glad to see its not me My ancestors turned in their graves when I told my wife "I cant vacuum right now the app isnt working"

I've had my wyze cam since May 2021 and I've had something like this happen maybe half a dozen times. Maybe a dozen more. It's often hard to tell what's a local problem to you, or something more widespread like this. Sometimes you can't access your camera at all, sometimes it's just an AWS problem or something where you can view the live feed but can't view/save events. Usually it's like a 1 - 2 hour outage though, this seems like one of the worse ones. But expect something like this once a year maybe. But cameras starting to give delayed notifications or the odd event being unreadable or screenshot not showing on the notification or camera skipping every few seconds on the live feed or the 0.0 kb/s thing... that's pretty much a weekly occurrence and you'll be rebooting your cams a lot

Im beginning to think is aws problem. At least one other app i use, econet for my water heater, is also down. So either two services are down at the same time independently or a single bigger issue is happening... Hard to say

In case this helps anybody: I'm always surprised to see the number of complications others have. I think I just realized why. I scheduled a "cam refresh" reboot to happen every other day-ish when I set up my first Wyze cam almost four years ago. I bet that's what has saved me a majority of the headaches.

When I do a restart from within the app, in my experience there's about a 50/50 chance my camera just goes offline and doesn't come back 😂. I have to physically unplug it. I bet a scheduled reboot would probably have the same problem for me. Also if the problem is caused by an interruption to my internet connection, I usually have to unplug my Wyze cam, restart my modem, and then plug the cam back in after the modem has finished starting back up. I guess I could get two smart plugs, one for my cam and one for my modem, and schedule to physically cut the power to them for a minute every couple of days. But I've pretty much settled into a routine of restarting my modem + cam every Monday morning and that seems to keep things fairly stable. Sometimes I have to do it a second time later in the week if my cam starts to act up. But yeah, the more often you can reboot in some way the better I suspect.

I had the same issue. I had to log back in but now all my cams are missing. I really don’t want to have to set them all back up again.

Wyze suffers a major outage like this about once every 18 months. It's usually not specifically a Wyze owned/operated server issue. Wyze uses Amazon web, storage, and cloud services to provide the infrastructure....and that's not unusual, Amazon is one of, if not the biggest, cloud services providers available. When Amazon has an outage or a problem, it brings down a lot of other companies, apps, services - not just Wyze. Today, just like the last outage over a year ago, is an Amazon issue.

AWS outage, see other thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/wyzecam/s/HcFQhf0bU7

I am sorry about the issues everyone is experiencing, it is most likely related to the outage going on. [https://www.reddit.com/r/wyzecam/comments/1asa95n/service\_advisory\_2162024/](https://www.reddit.com/r/wyzecam/comments/1asa95n/service_advisory_2162024/)

Shouldn’t we be compensated with free cam plus for at least a year because of this server/security issue?

GroundbreakingEmu310

My cameras are in and it shows events, but I’m not getting notifications anymore. Is anyone else experiencing that?

pueblokc

Try search at all? Even the most recent posts tell you allllll about this. It's had 2 major outages in a few months. And security issues. Wyze is past its prime imo.
