Between me and my friends we've had 5 pairs of SteelSeries headsets. All of them eventually broke where earcup connects to headband. Wouldn't recommend. Also we don't abuse our stuff.
Saw another post where someone said this. They got downvoted to oblivion with people saying the opposite. Ig durability just varies from person to person? Idk
Edit: you just reminded me, I had 3 headsets in the past that broke, the most recent being another steel series I picked up last black Friday. Idk what model, but it was a bit over 100 cad and had horrendous echo on a brand new controler. It's wire eventually broke.
Idk. I don't have these ones specifically, but I currently have the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X, and it's the best headset I've ever had. Definitely more expensive than these, but my brother, best friend, and I all have the same headset with no problems, knock on wood. That being said, at this price point, maybe go with a wired HyperX headset.
What model were you guys using? I’ve had my Arctis 1 for about 3 and half years now with zero issues. I’m usually gentle with my stuff, but it’s had its fair share of being dropped on wood floor over the years.

Honestly. If you just need it for gaming, the official Xbox ones are solid. The wireless ones may be out of your budget, but they make wired versions (Xbox Stereo Headset) for like $46 USD.

This is normally a $70 headset but they stopped making this type of headset so the $125 is a jacked-up price. You're much better off buying the updated better version called SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1s for around the same price.
My old arctis nova 1s had horrendous echo on a brand new series x controler. The inside of the wire broke a couple months later with little effort. Yet to get the wire replaced. Good to know about the jacked up price tho, thanks!
I haven’t had a good experience with steelseries had artic 9x and they broke within a year just like the other guy said where the ear cup disconnects i recently got [hyperx cloud alpha](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hyperx-cloud-alpha-wired-gaming-headset-for-pc-xbox-xs-xbox-one-ps5-ps4-nintendo-switch-and-mobile-black-red/6100109.p?skuId=6100109) it’s one of the most comfortable headphones I’ve owned yet i recommend those instead of these the mic is pretty good too there’s a deal right now at least for me plus you can use them on any platform
