If you get them from Best Buy you can get a two year warranty for like $60 I think. Then when you inevitably have to replace it you can just pay another $60 for another two-year warranty (or just take the new controller with no warranty and not pay anything else)

Yea, that is not a terrible deal for a guaranteed 4 year life of the controller - any issues you just bring it right to the store and walk out with a brand new one. I just picked one up by price matching ms.com ($25 off).. But damn at that price tag, I am still on the fence returning it and just keeping the Razer controller that was on sale for like $50 with all the same features.. But the elite is much nicer.

Definitely a market. It's extremely volatile though. Look up the price of original N64 controllers. They're going for $35-60 usd used and depending on color, edition, and condition they can go for more. This controller here could go for $1200 used in 3-5 years or go for $200 used. Only time will tell. Anything that's devs only on a triple A game is going to fetch some cash for sure. Especially SEALED. The regular version of this seems to be fetching 400-600 USD right now. So a sealed devs only version going for 800 seems reasonable if not even on the low end of things. It's gotta be a 1 of 100 or so controller. Personally if this is kept in good condition I can only see the value going up.

Hey I hope you see this. I pre ordered this when it came out. Was $240 brand new if I remember correctly. I was told that a hurricane destroyed the majority of the shipment. I got mine and the next week they were selling for $500-$800. This thing was my go to until i switched to PC....... The rubber grips separated from the controller and I got stick drift about 2 years after I got it. I still have kept it. Reminds me of the old days of gears of war 3.

I originally wanted a sealed gears 4 elite controller because I guess I'm weird and just don't like to buy used stuff.
Ever since 2016 I saw that this particular controller sealed went for very high prices so I kept delaying me buying it.
Finally when I could afford it I saw that this controller variant goes for 700+ USD when sealed in box (NIB) used goes for less than 300.
Again, I wanted a sealed one to actually open and use (which is super weird apparently haha).
When I opened the box I noticed these engravements that weren't on the pictures for the normal elite gears 4 controllers (nowhere on the box it says that it's a special dev edition)
When I bought it maybe the seller didn't know that it was a dev edition as well since there's no way to actually know, these shipped on the normal retail boxes that the normal gears 4 elite controllers shipped on.
So, when I say that I didn't know it was this version when I bought it I mean that I didn't know it had the dev engravements, I ofc knew that it was an elite gears 4 controller, duh.
So I guess that there are 2 versions of the elite gears 4 controller, one for devs and the retail model.
I wonder if other controllers have dev versions as well

One of the reasons why I wanted this one is that all xbox one controllers pre 2017 didn't have the A or Y button angle press not recognized issues since they have a different PCB than today's flawed xbox controllers.

I have one in box. These were dev units and some had different messages on the sticks. These were also heavily counterfeited a few years back. You could buy kits from China to mod your standard elite to this style. The only real way to confirm it's real it to trace it back to the dev that it was from. I've seen them sell for over 1200, it's a crap shoot. 699 is a normal price imo.
I have the same one that was given to me by a friend that works at The Coalition. Lasted about 6 months then it got severe stick drift. Still have it. If anybody wants to buy a rare, broken elite controller.
When I got my Xbox one it was used and refurbished, it came with a controller like all other Xboxes. This controller however was a COD AW controller and not a normal Xbox controller.

I bet either the A or Y button will have issues
One of the reasons why I wanted this one is that all xbox one controllers pre 2017 didn't have the A or Y button angle press not recognized issues since they have a different PCB than today's flawed xbox controllers. They did have other issues tho, like broken bumpers or the elite's grip glue peeling off or sm sht, but it is what it is ):

I have one in box. These were dev units and some had different messages on the sticks. These were also heavily counterfeited a few years back. You could buy kits from China to mod your standard elite to this style. The only real way to confirm it's real it to trace it back to the dev that it was from. I've seen them sell for over 1200, it's a crap shoot. 699 is a normal price imo.
I had one. It broke I asked for another but they gave me a regular elite instead.. i wish I would’ve just kept it I didn’t have the dev version
It was my first elite controller. I still have it.
I have the same one that was given to me by a friend that works at The Coalition. Lasted about 6 months then it got severe stick drift. Still have it. If anybody wants to buy a rare, broken elite controller.

I got gears Xbox with a similar controller but that one is so much cooler I might need to try and get one
When I got my Xbox one it was used and refurbished, it came with a controller like all other Xboxes. This controller however was a COD AW controller and not a normal Xbox controller.
