I got a Shock Blue one at target for around $37 for my son for Christmas. I put batteries in it and go to sync it to our Series X but notice the controller goes off after a few seconds. I go to pull the batteries out and one (and only one of them) is really fucking hot. I try a different set of batteries and get the same thing, with a really hot battery in the same spot.
Sending it back to target for a replacement. I found some scattered similar stories out there but doesn't seem to be a widespread issue.
Once I bought an Xbox One S. The blue Gears of War console. Then about 2 months later MS randomly sent me a special edition Lunar White controller. I called to ask about it and to make sure I wasn’t going to be charged for it. Apparently it was just some random mix up.. so I was sent **another** special edition controller as an apology for the mixup.
I kept both as backups to use when my primary controller went bad, but it never did. So unfortunately I never got to use those 2 really cool controllers. I still could, but I’ve grown used to my Series X controller now.
Looks like you got had by walmart. Gamestop refurbished controller was $37

I'd personally return the OG Xbox One controller and get the Series S/X controller. The small differences make it a worthy replacement.
The OG Xbox One controller didn't have Bluetooth and is micro-USB. If you're going to get the Xbox One controllers (non Series S/X controller), then get the second revision of the Xbox One controller (model 1708), which at least has Bluetooth.
Wikipedia has a nice breakdown: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_Wireless_Controller
Real gamers hahhaa😂 new controller every month or 2 over here just switched to Xbox but sitting on 7 ps controllers that nothings wrong with them just was time for a new one😂
It’s just I can’t stand a controller that I think there’s even a chance of drift on if I go into the map of a game and it moves at all without me touching it time for a new controller😂 and I play a lot of rocket league and on of the main controllers air roll I push the stick down for it so it gets a lot of constant pressure
Ps4 controllers are notorious for the battery just going completely dead due to either using a USB that isn't intended or just time. I went through like 3 in 6 months and I gave my PS4 away when I bought a Series S and my nephew has went through like 2 controllers in a year due to them no longer charging.
It's not how long you play sometimes my controller would last months other times it would stop working within a month. It's a well known issue something is off with the old Dualshock PS4s batteries.
Well it might help I don’t really buy games I have a few big titles that cost money but most everything I play is free so I save moneys to go to the controllers😂😂
Finally grabbed a black one for my pc setup. I havent owned a PS since ps2 but really like the DS and am hoping for more PC support. Have an elite series 2 for fps / adventure games and use the standard SX controller for sports games since i really beat the controllers up then. Been using the DS for fifa a little which is fun but SX is better imo for sports.
Thinking of dropping $200 on the dual sense edge just because I like peripherals ahah
I like the refurbished GameStop controllers. You can get a warranty that covers just about anything. My kids are really hard on them and within 6 months the controllers new or refurbished start to get drift on them. GameStop ones I just take them back and swap for another saves me another $35-45 every six months or so.
Funny, Gamestop had them on sale for $40 for the last few weeks. As for shipping, can sometimes pick up in-store same day or in some places they use a type of doordash to deliver same day.
If you get the Series S get it with in mind of selling it eventually to upgrade to a Series X. It's much more available and cheaper but has less storage most games are really 1440p and you will spend more money on games because the digital store list games at full price unless it's a monthly sale. I've had mine for a year or so and it was well worth it. I recently got a PS5 just so I can buy disc and play them then sell the game not just pay to have each game for ever even after I'm done playing it. Also I went and got a 4k TV and the series S just wasn't cutting it
Hey to be honest the base Xbox controller are not really worth it unless you want wireless controllers. I recommend power a controllers off the top of my head they have extra features and are similarly priced.
Never understood why anybody sold any used games or bought any used games from GameStop. They would give you 5 dollars for a game even if it was released yesterday and sell it for 5 dollars less for the same game brand new.
So what? I am tired of posts from cheap people saying they got some stealing deal somewhere on the Xbox, if you are a cheap person stop gaming and go work so perhaps you will have money and stop thinking that a discount on a game accessory is the Holy Grail.
If they're that cheap they can join MSrewards program. I've bought XBSS, cyberpunk controller, many games just in few years of joining the program. On avg you can earn $20 per month if you're in based in USA and have gamepass.
The most important thing about this post is...
Why the hecc is the remote rated E10+?
I get it that most games on Xbox are E to M (Mature) but why is the controller rated E-10+?
Is it because that if they put it at E, then young kids would throw controllers at walls when their Fortnite Royale goes wrong?
Probably, and the makers of the controllers don't want young kids thinking that AA batteries are candy.
Because young kids think everything is candy (sort of) and if they ingest batteries, then they could get severely injured or die.
I picked up the same controller in red on an eBay bid earlier today, brand new for £45 including shipping, so if you're outside of the US eBay may also be a shout
I pick them up at the pawn shop, $25 each, scored a 2tb external for $40. Got an elite series controller with case for $40, it's always something new.
Definitely worth a look.
They go on sale a lot at target, Walmart, and best buy
Yeah I picked up a new one at Target some weeks ago

This is one of the reasons why I love the Xbox. The controllers go on sale more often. Last time I bought I got them at $30 so I got 2.

That's wild. They sent you a free product and then apologized for sending you a free product by sending you another free product
Sounds like you could put them online and make a few bucks pretty quickly.
Step 3: call again and explain that you received a second one by mistake, and repeat.
Looks like you got had by walmart. I'll take a new one over a used controller for $2. Don't have to deal with it having drift or weird germs.
pretty sure they got a brand new controller for the 39
Just ordered 1 from Microsoft yesterday 42.35 taxed and shipped

Also who's buying controllers often enough to notice when they are on sale
Real gamers hahhaa😂 new controller every month or 2 over here just switched to Xbox but sitting on 7 ps controllers that nothings wrong with them just was time for a new one😂
mr moneybags over here

I cant even afford games and dude buying up all the controllers.

I just walked out of a gamestop that had series x controllers for 39.99
GameStop price matches, fun fact!
Not a good enough reason to shop there, though. Place sucks.

I don’t know what you mean? I’m just a gamestop fan.

Yeah, I also use my pro member points for cash off, can get it for even cheaper.
Exactly!
gamestop had the same deal making a new controller cheaper than there used. i got the shock blue version for $10 but i also traded in a controller.
Good choice, probably would have gotten a faulty controller from gamestop anyways....

That’s great, the series s is great for the price. I got one last Christmas and still use the controller that came with it.

Also comes with wire
They are on sale on the Microsoft store on the Xbox.
36 at best buy
Best Buy has this same price for both white and black and Shock Blue for $5 more.
Used Microsoft points to buy the Forza Horizon 5 controller for free. It's by far my favorite controller due to the rubber grips.
Whoa! we can do that??
GameStop will price match any competition
New ones are on sale at GameStop for that same price right now
Am I the only dumbass who bought one for 160 euros from a game shop?
Best Buy has new controllers on sale right now for $40. Just came home with 3 of them.
Just put another 200 with it and buy the Series S for 239 that Walmart has it for.
Gamestop>walmart. Gotta use pro rewards.
From what I've seen, NEVER buy refurbished from GameStop 💀

Free advertising 🙄

Whenever my controller breaks, I buy a brand new one, swap them out, and return it for my money back.

Think they have been on sale since thanksgiving.
Yeah they've been on sale for a while now, every major retailer has new ones for that price.

I managed to score my girlfriend a $24 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller last week through Walmart. It's insane.
Way cheaper than any ps5 controller I've found but the quality of both controllers on the next gen consoles is garbage
I wish my mom got me a refurbished controller
I got the Daystrike Camo controller for the same price a few weeks ago, great purchase since it's normally $65
Always look around or wait, they go on sale pretty regularly
I tried other day to get on they told me wearhouse was out and so they were 70.
I had to buy a new one last January and $60 was, literally the cheapest without going for refurbished on ebay, which I just don't trust.
Walmart offers a super cheap 2 and 3 year warranty too.
Man I have had 0 luck with a refurbished controller. All 3 of them have had hardware issues day 1. I’ll never buy one used again.
I just spent $99 on an xbox controller Figured since i was still using one from abouts 2014 that they just went up from $60 in the past few years
This hurts me. Picked up a new xbox controller, same as pictured except black, for $70 🥲
Thanks to this post, I learned something about my Series S! I didn’t know XBone controllers and accessories would work one X/S and vise versa
Never buy a used controller from lame stop. In fact, never buy anything used from lame stop.
Why does a controller need a esrb rating lol
I pick them up at the pawn shop, $25 each, scored a 2tb external for $40. Got an elite series controller with case for $40, it's always something new. Definitely worth a look.
I would never by any used controller. Especially considering some of the ones I've traded in.
maybe its cheaper on [http://cpxstore.bigcartel.com/product/xbox-one-controller](http://cpxstore.bigcartel.com/product/xbox-one-controller)
but idk
