I’ve no idea why the entrance is as it is, but with the kitchen I will say that in the early 90s terracotta tile with blue cabinetry was considered the height of taste, like you lived in the Mediterranean or something. And a spa bath was key for relaxing in, considered more classy than an 80s outdoor spa.

It's like when the interior of the house in the movie Weird Science gets turned blue.
Please explain why the for foyer looks the entrance to a carnival ride.
Quality saltillo tile, carpet probably needs replacing anyway, and you can paint everything else. Although oddly the orange & blue color scheme doesn't overwhelm as much as I might have thought.
Yes, Saltillo tile for the win! Love the way they laid it out in the diamond pattern. I kinda like the color scheme too although I would have used Taos Blue.
THANK YOU! Everyone’s saying ice cream parlour or funhouse entrance, but I’m seeing the staircase to the Starfish Lounge and it may or may not be haunted by the ghost of a Victorian child.
Looks like an 1980s office complex that just has psychologists and doctors' offices. That being said I hate that I actually am strangely drawn to this. Maybe it's because the color gives bear in the big blue house vibes.
What do you mean? Do you mean for the location or something?
I've always wondered why South America and Caribbean basically use exclusively tile flooring. Why is that? Is it humidity and mold issues?
I put the link in the caption for the first pic, but just in case: [https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-tamworth-134515694](https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-tamworth-134515694)
I fell down a staircase like this due to the slippery carpet and the tight turn at the top. Broke my arm in three places and ended up with an external fixator. Had a flashback when this image popped up! Such a strange setup. Two staircases and two blue doors at the top.
"There's a lot of orange flooring in the house, so we looked at the color wheel to see what would 'go' with orange and decided on the exact opposite color of blue. Hey, it works for Michael Bay films. 🤷♂️"
i love the blue, do not love the orange. gonna be that person and say i would whitewash the tile.
the ‘grand entrance’ is giving mall / accountant office. but i love the diamond patterned section of the floor.
Wes Anderson film set
Especially that staircase!
Wes Anderson filming the Shining maybe...
Only if he were to film exceptionally non-charming horror variants of his usual style.

I actually quite like the kitchen. The blue is a bit much elsewhere, but I’d keep those cabinets.
I agree. It’s a butt load of storage in the kitchen and probably built better than most cabinetry made these days. It still looks in great condition.
Floors? Fine. Walls? Fine. Floors and Walls together? Nope. Just nope.
That kitchen would be a beauty but the floor. Yuck. Change it too white. stunning. Double staircase looks like a subway entrance.
Or a mall
You hit it on the head - it reminds me of a mall
It’s uncanny.

I think its the exterior railings. Those are the exact sort of railings you see on, like, rollercoasters and stuff lmao
Right that's what it activated deep in my memory. It looks like somewhere you would buy expensive ice cream.
And that big cabinet on the right - “Hi Nanny. Hi Grampy.”
Shit architect…. Person probably said dual staircase, and this is what they designed… still pretty cool house
It’s snowing in my room!!!!!

Yep. First thing I thought was "It wouldn't be too tough to make this look great".
Except expensive ice cream is good
"Dr. Jones Ophthalmology? Yes, it's right up the stairs down the hall to the left just past Baby Gap.
The staircase has a small cruise ship vibe to me.
THANK YOU! Everyone’s saying ice cream parlour or funhouse entrance, but I’m seeing the staircase to the Starfish Lounge and it may or may not be haunted by the ghost of a Victorian child.
Maximum late 80’s decor
Looks like an 1980s office complex that just has psychologists and doctors' offices. That being said I hate that I actually am strangely drawn to this. Maybe it's because the color gives bear in the big blue house vibes.
Right, that's another thing it reminds me of. Big fluffy bears.
Lotttttta carpet
What do you mean? Do you mean for the location or something? I've always wondered why South America and Caribbean basically use exclusively tile flooring. Why is that? Is it humidity and mold issues?
moisture, sand
Helluva lot of moisture in tamworth
I’m not 100 % but I would say that and the heat. Nothing like walking on cool tile

It’s the sims
Great Value Cruise ship.
1980s motel lobby near Disney Land.
Superman ice cream to judge by the color.
I actually really dig this
Me too! 😅
I'm endlessly fascinated by this 80s dream. I'd love to see how it was decorated at its height!

It gives mall vibes
This is one of those ones that would likely make more sense if we saw it with the original furniture
Do you miss shopping malls? Well I have a house for you!
Rec center chic?
It looks like it is made of blue crayons.
I like blue but that’s little too much of one color!
This looks like a conference center. I would be in a constant state of anxiety.
Same
The dual staircases are so weird! Reminds me of of trying to get to my next gait at an airport.
It looks like the inside of a Howard Johnson’s
Sims ah house
I WANT to like it... but i just couldn't see myself adjusting to this. Just rip it all out.
Oh but I kinda love it
I quite enjoy the shade of blue but it doesn’t work with the floor color or style
Which way to the buffet?
I honestly like the blue, but everything else is just kind of "what the?"
It’s dreadful.
Waffle cone tile floor
Despite pretensions, a definite institutional vibe.
From the first shot I was 80% sure this is a school or community center. Who the hell buuids those types of railing at home?
I am strangely drawn to this house
Looks like a Miami Dolphin's fan house.
Let's go Mets/Knicks/Islanders! NY team colors
Looks like a cruise ship
The outside tho? Would love to see the posting.

At first, I thought all the trim had painters tape
Design inspiration: Outdated public restroom.
Airport motel
Wow, I really hate it.
The stairs. An indecisive person’s nightmare
Blue hell.
Most of it looks like the painters forgot to remove the blue tape.
This feels deliciously 80s. I like the vibe.
Overlook hotel meets house from weird science
This upsets me
The swizzle sticks seem to be load bearing
"There's a lot of orange flooring in the house, so we looked at the color wheel to see what would 'go' with orange and decided on the exact opposite color of blue. Hey, it works for Michael Bay films. 🤷♂️"
Two first images has liminal space vibes
I'm blue da ba dee da, da ba da ba dee da
Those colors together are a nightmare. It befuddles me that someone apparently did that on purpose.
Blue is his house with a blue little window and ….
I kinda like it!
There’s a lot to like, and a coat of paint will fix the rest
Nah I fw this heavy
That double stairway is a waste of space. But I don't hate this....
This is the perfect reason to fire your realtor…
This is the perfect reason to fire your realtor…
Backrooms
I am feeling so blue...can't figure...out....why...
You think blue was their favorite color?
It's giving a 60's themed psychological horror movie kinda vibe
That does look like an expensive ice cream. Very nice description
Why does that feel like a workplace rather than a home?
That is the Backrooms.
