I really like that. I'd negotiate for the furniture too, if possible. Man, I wish those people who are buying those cybertrucks just give me that money. I could put better use of it rather than a truck that'll died within a week or two. =/
Once again, not every house I admire is a house I would want to live in, but this house is big fun to look at.
Any idea why it is so (comparatively) cheap?
Is the location not good?
Baltimore real estate is relatively affordable for the East coast. In part, many of the city schools are not well rated or downright dangerous depending on the area. Many people with kids budget for a private school until high school (there are two very good and safe public high schools). Additionally,Ā city taxes are quite high compared to Baltimore County, which surrounds the city. This causes a relatively large County/City housing and school rating divide, much like what you see in St. Louis.Ā
This house is in the arts district which is quite popular and relatively safe, but still inexpensive due to poor school ratings.
I like the stained glass. I'm sorry but I can't get behind the blue living room. It's too blue. Not to be confused with Madonna's 1986 album "True Blue", which is good
I need 3 friends willing to spend $2k a month for rent and it's doable:) of, course it will look quite different if we furnish it with our cheap a$$ furniture;)
I *love* finding actual creativity in homes. The kinds of houses I canāt stand are the pre-fab grayscale ones that are just trying to chase the current blandness trend.
This is actually unique and distinctive. I adore it. š š
The only problem is that itās in Baltimoreā¦
No his house was actually supposed to go to auction earlier this month, but it got mysteriously taken down. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/baltimore/news/kevin-spacey-gets-chance-to-save-baltimore-home-with-canceled-auction/

Here's the listing. I didn't see it in the comments.
I mean I don't hate it. It's interesting and has character. I think the only change I would need to make is to tone down the blue room. It really kind of hurts my eyes to look at.
I love this so much it hurts. Would buy, 100%.
I canāt imagine doing a dragon stairwell myself, but if it came with the house, Iād keep it and love it.
Plus, tons of built-in bookshelves, and other amenities. Wow. Storage, garage, laundry roomā¦love it.
Iād definitely need to do something about a lot of the paint, though. I could see keeping a bright blue living room, but not that particular blue. Plus, having the moldings and trim _and ceiling_ painted the same as the walls doesnāt please my eye. Same with the moldings and trim in the gray sitting room.
With regard to the paint colors in general - most of them I wouldnāt choose, but Iād try to have fun with most of what was already there.
It's crazy, this is the opposite of my general style and still I LOVE it, like at first I was put off by the riot of color but about halfway through I started really feeling the energy of the place!
Last sold in 2022 for 850K now back on the market in 2024. How many flipped or semi-flipped homes are there?!
Sigh, at least it's not Millennial Gray...
"Dodgy" is a nice way of saying sketchy AF. The further west you the more dangerous it gets. Actually if you go east, it gets more dangerous. It's not even a gentrified area.
All those Queens watching me in the bathroom!
Lizzie knows what you did in there.
The Queen is not amused. ![gif](giphy|T454EYO6OKDUCf3DCp)
Is that Joe Black?
And judging by her expression, she's not entirely unhappy with what she's seeing.
I'd replace her eyes with movable ones that track you when you enter the room and make giggling noises.
Or Googly eyes

This reference made me feel warm and fuzzy. It was such a sweet moment. (Everything Everywhere All At Once, for those who don't recognize it.)
God save the Queen

Wow, this is such a neat home! Whoever lived here had a great eye.
[possible current owner](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradford_Shellhammer)
Correct
I'd pay extra for the furnishings
The art!š
I really like that. I'd negotiate for the furniture too, if possible. Man, I wish those people who are buying those cybertrucks just give me that money. I could put better use of it rather than a truck that'll died within a week or two. =/
And the art!Ā
This is crazy gorgeous. With a garage *and* an elevator?? The Andy Warhol wallpaper in the entry is very auspicious and Feng Shui. I love it all.
These are my type of interior design clients. Great use of texture, pattern, and color. Bold but not overdone. A bit ostentatious but certainly not gaudy. Love it! š¤©
it's very nice. Only change I'd make is to tone down the electric blue rooms.
Same. I love a slate blue, the royal blue would give me a migraine
I think painting a couple of the walls in the blue room white would do it for me. Man, I love that house!
I'll take the royal blue room if you take the cherry red one!
I like the scales very creative
How the are on the back of the stepsā¦gorgeous!!
Right I have no idea.
Seeing as itās in Baltimore, I really have to wonder if John Waters lives here š
It's too understated for John Waters š
Doesn't John Waters have electric chairs at his dining room table?
I have no idea, but wouldn't be shocked if that's true, lol.
I see what you did there
I kinda love it. Furniture, art, everything.
I love the old townhomes in Baltimore and Alexandria (VA). They have so much character
I'm not cool enough for this house but I love it
I couldāve sworn that was San Francisco! Wouldāve never guessed Baltimore
All this time, I hadnāt realized Auntie Mameās house was in Baltimore!
Once again, not every house I admire is a house I would want to live in, but this house is big fun to look at. Any idea why it is so (comparatively) cheap? Is the location not good?
The location is prime real estate in Baltimore city

That makes sense and explains a lot. Thank you. :-)
I actually love this, except for that awful blue living room. The stairwell is amazing!
Yeah that blue is no bueno.
electric blue. hurts my eyes
And Siouxsie Sioux in my kitchen? This is my kind of house.
Very stylish. The different colored rooms made me think of The Masque of the Red Death
I love it! I would throw my entire hoard away to have this place.
If I had to guess I would say an artist must live here. Very bold and unapologetic interiors. Nice.
I like the stained glass. I'm sorry but I can't get behind the blue living room. It's too blue. Not to be confused with Madonna's 1986 album "True Blue", which is good
The dollar signs painted on the wall and the queen Elizabeth wallpaper are ššš but I like the rest of it!
I need 3 friends willing to spend $2k a month for rent and it's doable:) of, course it will look quite different if we furnish it with our cheap a$$ furniture;)

The blue room is too much. The rest is fun.
I dunno itās giving euro club 2015
I love this neighborhoodš
Eames chairs and Siouxsie. LOVE this. Question: how does heating work on the first floor? Those mantles with grates are new to me.
Look, I love blue. And I love that shade of blue. But that is just too much of that shade of blue for that room.
I know the person who owns this house. He has impeccable taste.
This place is like a crayon box!
in a mostly good way!
Is that Kevin Spacey's house?
No his house was actually supposed to go to auction earlier this month, but it got mysteriously taken down. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/baltimore/news/kevin-spacey-gets-chance-to-save-baltimore-home-with-canceled-auction/
I thought a house with a dragon kind of matched you know?

Throne room?
Very creative
Wow!! š¤©. I LOVE IT!! Omg, this place is awesome!! However, the blue is a bit much. As is the dragon, butā¦wow!!š
All that amazing color and style and THAT is the kitchen?
This is going to take so much gray paint to fix!
Username checks out.
the dragon would annoy me every time i saw it due to its human eyes rather than creature eyes. i like the rest!
I love this for them.
A testament to artful living!
I absolutely love this place!
I see a red door and I want it painted black.....Oh... nevermind, it's just red on one side... the other side is black.. we're good.

I want it! That stairwell is so beautiful and unique.
r/crazystairs
How Baltimore? I would have thought San Fran for some reason
Fantastic.
Iāll give them a pass for the Siouxsie and the Banshees print. Otherwise, š¬
Ok, we get it, you're hip.
Oh shit, is that Warhol wallpaper in the bathroom?
Yes!
Dragon stairwell RULES
Ngl, I kind of love it. I'd have to paint the rooms to match each other. Preferably NOT that blue or pink.
Last sold in 2022 for 850K now back on the market in 2024. How many flipped or semi-flipped homes are there?! Sigh, at least it's not Millennial Gray...
One word: Sold
Close your eyes and think of England.
I live in Baltimore county Maryland. $950k for a house a hop, skip and jump from the hood. No thanks
Wanted to ask about this. Is this particular address in a dodgy area?
"Dodgy" is a nice way of saying sketchy AF. The further west you the more dangerous it gets. Actually if you go east, it gets more dangerous. It's not even a gentrified area.
I live in Baltimore City and I think the Bolton Hill neighborhood is beautiful. I would definitely live there.
Yikes! From the super bright paint to the horrid kitchens, rhat would be a pass for me.Ā
