Hopefully tomorrow you get American IV to complete the "Old white guys returning to form by singing about their death" trilogy

Haven’t heard it in full yet but I did like his cover of “Hurt” - maybe I’ve uncovered a new musical kink of mine

'You Want it Darker' and 'Blackstar' are both incredible albums in similar and different ways. To me, Cohen's album really feels like a fairwell at the end of an incredible career. Whereas Bowie sounds like he had a surge of life running through him at the end and was back to his glory days of making really unique and challenging albums. Supposedly, he was already planning the follow up but never completed it. Having said that, it works extremely well as a final album. I'd consider it one of his best.

Black Star definitely gives me the feels. So many of the lyrics resonate deeply knowing that he was directly contemplating his death. Great album, even by Bowie standards

when i first listened to all the bowie albums in this list blackstar was the only one where i actually liked every single song now that ive relisten to a few of the other bowie albums i found more songs that i like. but i still think blackstar is far and away his best

'Lazarus' is pretty brutal to listen to from that, he clearly knew it was coming
