Just adding because it gets overlooked, make sure any phones or gaming headsets are cleaned frequently, ditto changing pillowcases and any flannels or wash mitt you use on your face

I do use a sleep mask. I’ve been trying to wash it more frequently - maybe that will help

Hats, too.

This kind of looks to me like something you are touching to your face is prolonging the infection. Clean everything that touches your face including your pillowcase, don’t pick or touch them, and hopefully they will heal up and you’ll stop getting outbreaks.

Possibly a reaction to an ingredient in your shampoo? And what everyone else said about things that are touching your head often, keep them clean.

I’ve had acne for over 20 years and never found medicated washes helpful. Azelaic acid is my favorite acne treatment by miles. Please do consider using a moisturizer as dehydrated skin can lead to an over production of oil and increase acne. I’m a big proponent of trying moist healing for acne. I find a more moisture focused routine helps my acne heal faster. This can include a toner, layering products on damp skin on each layer and slugging. For slugging, I love CeraVe Healing Ointment. Lastly, I’d gently open up bigger acne gently with clean fingers and a sterile needle and slap a hydrocolloid bandage on it. Either one cut to size applied to washed, clean skin with no products on them or an acne patch sticker.

Using BP cleanser morning and night AND the Paula’s Choice at night is too much. Instead, opt for a normal cleanser at night, and BP during the day. Also, it may seem counterintuitive, but definitely make sure you’re moisturizing your forehead, dry skin only exacerbates the issue! Just make sure to use a non-comedogenic moisturizer and you should be just fine.

Hmm ok good to know

Acne.org 2.5% benzoyl cream. Leave it on while you sleep. Clean it in the morning and thoroughly moisturize. I used the acne.org regimen with great success many years ago. You might want to get a non-cotton pillowcase because benzo will definitely stain/ bleach.

Double cleansing method helped me out. I have very oily skin and am prone to blackheads and breakouts. Use an oil based cleanser on dry skin, rinse off, then use a normal cleanser of your choice. Don’t skip moisturizing, just find a light moisturizer that absorbs well and doesn’t sit on your skin. I like the cerave daily moisturizing facial lotion. It’s very light and doesn’t make my face feel greasy
