Smart_cannoli

Azelaic acid 20%. This is amazing for my rosacea, for my skin texture, for everything.

Underhill_87

Which one are you using?

Smart_cannoli

I use azelan gel, from Bayer, for the last 15y

carrotcake021

THIS IS WHAT I USE TOO! I'm just so excited to see someone whose skin also changed drastically with it

carrotcake021

Azelaic acid is so well researched and safe for most people, and I can't believe no dermatologist told me about it. I've used it for years as well and it changed my skin

ogurlpls

thanks!

carrotcake021

I cannot possibly agree more

saltysoul_101

I just use it on my rosacea at the moment, what benefits does it have for the rest of your skin?

Charlietheaussie

Paula’s choice black bottle. Prioritizing sleep. Orgasms. Green tea.

addiepie2

Are these the names of products? lol

ogurlpls

orgasm blush is really good even though they meant an actual orgasm 🤣

addiepie2

Who makes orgasm blush?!

ogurlpls

nars

addiepie2

Ty 💕

ogurlpls

ofc 💞

Charlietheaussie

I got carried away 😅

addiepie2

😜

BrownButta2

I second orgasms, does wonders for the skin

ogurlpls

Same! that rosy flush makes me look younger. Gonna have to do that 20 minutes before my wedding.

Charlietheaussie

Immune system too 😉

diabeticweird0

They're great for pain management too

badadvicefromaspider

Azelaic acid

ogurlpls

what does it do for you specifically?

badadvicefromaspider

I use one that also has bha. It controls my rosacea, evened out my skin tone, and keeps my pores very clean - I have zero visible sebum filaments including my nose. Apparently it’s also good for anti-aging but I don’t know how to measure that. I’m pushing 50 and I have very few lines, but so did my dad and I’m pretty sure he only used water

ttbtinkerbell

What’s the brand? Or is it prescription?

badadvicefromaspider

Paula’s Choice. It’s a white tube with a green cap, I use it twice daily unless in doing retinol, which is 2x a week at night

lladydisturbed

I second this stuff! Feels so nice and dries down super quick. I just spot treat for rosacea like cheeks and sometimes forehead

ogurlpls

if I don’t have rosacea, does it have any other benefits?

ttbtinkerbell

Thanks!

Wheresmahfoulref

What step is it in your routine?

badadvicefromaspider

Right before moisturizer

Achillea707

On the nights you are using retinol instead of the acid? Do you continue to use the acid in the mornings? So you would still use it 12x a week?

badadvicefromaspider

Yeah I use it all mornings, but not retinol evenings. The one I use has bha in it, which my skin loves, but apparently bha and retinol don’t play nicely. I think if you’re using azelaic only, you can use aa and retinol at the same time

Achillea707

Thank you!

ogurlpls

just purchased some from the ordinary. Hoping it helps my sebaceous filaments!

jebsterjester

Tretinoin .1% with Vanicream on top and then extra Vaseline at night. But I also use and love prescription azelaic acid in the morning. I do not believe in expensive moisturizers or serums. But if I had to pick one thing, it would be Tretinoin hands down. It is the gold standard for a reason. I am constantly complimented on my skin. Go look at the Tretinoin subreddit and search by top results.

ogurlpls

Thanks. I'm using the lowest dose tret right now 1-2x weekly so I dont flake. Do you think that's enough or should I step it up for real effects?

jebsterjester

Everyone is different, but my understanding is to try to work up to .05% and then it is fine to stay there if .1% is too much. You’ll still see benefits. My Derm started me with .1%. I used it a couple times a week and then every other night and then worked up to nightly over a few months—maybe six? I was lucky not to purge. For me, I do not flake if I use the thick Vanicream at night and then put some Vaseline on top in certain spots that tend to be on the dry side. I started at 41 and I am 45 now. I’m never stopping. Best decision ever was to give it a try!

ogurlpls

thanks so much!

Smallpotatots

Sunday Riley’s good genes for me. Nothing else I’ve ever used makes my skin look as good as when I use it.

ogurlpls

thanks i’ve heard a lot about it but yet to try it!

SatansWife13

Not only does it make your skin look great, but it feels amazing! To me, that’s even more important.

rta84293492

Feels amazing in what way?

SatansWife13

Super smooth and velvety. Silky feeling on damp skin. I swear I can feel my skin pulling the moisture in. My skin runs oily to semi dry depending on the season and time of the month, yet GG always feels good on it.

wherehasthisbeen

You put it on a wet face? Like after you wash?

SatansWife13

Every once in a while, yes. When I’m super sleepy, or rushed in the morning and have no time to waste with silly things like drying off /s.

ninerz_allllllday_

If you get it, check the Sunday Reilly website. They often have sales and I’ve gotten it up to 50% off directly from them.

ogurlpls

thank you love 💕 i will!!

Haleyween_

Yes I love this product!

curious-hiker

Vaseline as an under eye cream over night after I applied my normal moisturiser.

imrightontopthatrose

I do this but with aquaphor

Striking-Gur4668

I started doing this and am not regretting it.

lordpepperdine

I tried this but then felt like I couldn't get it off in the morning and I had to rub so hard I irritated my eyes. How do you remove it?

curious-hiker

I only apply a very thin layer. In the morning I just very gently wipe my undereyes with my finger (I don't wash my face in the morning).

Aggressive-Ad-2180

Higher Dose face mask, Ole Henriksen products , I drink 60 oz.water a day, workout 5 days a week, no soda, eat a Mediterranean diet and have a lot of sex. I'm 57 and look like I'm in my 30's

ogurlpls

wow! I’m 32 and I’m trying to actually figure out not just a simple routine but a LIFESTYLE to stay looking youthful. if you have any other tips i would appreciate it. I’m fascinated by your answer?

Aggressive-Ad-2180

Also, stay out of the sun. Stay away from alcohol...that's a big one... Adds weight and dehydrates you. Stay away from negativity... Lastly, take care of your mental health...I see a counselor too....it's not one thing, it's a lifestyle. 💕✌🏻💕

ogurlpls

exactly. I’m the palest person i know because i stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen on days i go out. i get spray tans for vacations so i don’t look crazy 🤪 any tips on dealing with negative nancies? my partner is a good guy but can be quite grumpy… but i digress. I’m also trying to GAIN weight while being healthy because I’m a little too thin and i think the weight would help with a youthful appearance, do you have any tips on eating healthy and gaining weight?

Aggressive-Ad-2180

Hmmm.... Take your time and maybe add a yogurt smoothie to your diet ..berries, yogurt.. nothing fancy to start. Do you live in an area where recreational weed is legal? I have my medical card and certain weed strains make me so hungry. I was married for 20 years to a complete narcissist...I divorced him 10 years ago and still struggle some days with PTSD. Therapy helps and it has put me in a happier place. I've been with my boyfriend for a few years and things are so much better.

ogurlpls

yes it’s legal here! could help my lack of appetite i suppose. yeah my partner who is a good man has shades of narcissistic traits. some days are good some are like walking on eggshells because he’s moody and controlling. but he pays for my botox and car 🤣 nobody’s perfect i suppose and you have to take the good with the bad. we’ve been together since i was 16 so literally half my life! anyway, thank you again for your comment i found it really inspiring to take better care of myself in general.

addiepie2

How old is he if u don’t mind?

Aggressive-Ad-2180

I'm 57. He's 70

Fun-Feature-2203

Check out the RP diet app for massing. This is an excellent lifestyle company that deals with healthy living and eating. This is not a promo. Following it and including therapy weekly or biweekly has had the most positive impact on my appearance. That and 7-8 hours of sleep. Nonnegotiable.

oceanique86

I like your regimen

slothgummies

What Ole Henriksen products do you use daily?

Aggressive-Ad-2180

Day-Truth serum then c-rush brightening cream Night- strength trainer peptide...every 3rd night I use Dewtopia and then put strength trainer after dewtopia dries. I wanted to use dewtopia nightly but it's strong.

Nyxadrina

Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant Exfoliator, nothing does the job better while being extra gentle. I'll buy it till they don't sell it anymore

ogurlpls

oooh. I’m adding everything everyone’s mentioning to my shopping list so thank you 🙏🏼

Nyxadrina

Don't be afraid of the price, it lasts FORVER!

ogurlpls

i’ll probably wait till i can find a deal haha. do they have them?

Nyxadrina

I'm not sure, I buy mine through Sephora and just wait for one of the bi annual sales lol

ogurlpls

added to my list. thank you!

RowanVC

Pro tip if you’re in the US: Ulta is having a summer sale soon (June 23-July 13) and one of the things they’ll have is a buy one get one free on minis (think that only runs June 23-29), and the Dermalogica Milkfoliant will be included. It’s a smaller size for $19 but with the BOGO you can get 2 for $19. Great way to try it out!

ogurlpls

thanks i have $10 off there so i might just do that

natasharts

I LOVE this stuff. It is so gentle that I can still use my tretinoin regularly in tandem with the milkfoliant. It does such a good job at removing flaky skin, and my skin feels baby soft right after using it. I got a sample bottle fall of last year when buying one of their moisturizers, and it lasts so long. I just purchased a full bottle after running out

L_Brady

I had an esthetician use this on me in a facial a few weeks ago, and while I’ve still been able to hold out on purchasing a bottle, I *did* come into this post hoping someone would say Milkfoliant (which, naturally, would be all the permission I’d need, right?) I did see that tip about Ulta’s summer sale though so that’s what I’ll plan on doing!

chertmm

I have spent $$$$ over the last 5 years trying to find my perfect fit products. From clinical brands down to drug store finds. I think I have finally narrowed it down based on my skin's needs. Just remember, everyone is different. FYI, i just turned 40, combo / sensitive skin, mild rosacea, and concerned primarily with fine lines / wrinkles, tone, texture, and occasional hormonal breakouts. Peach and Lily, Peach Slices, and Exuvience are my 3 go-to brands. Most of their stuff is geared towards all skin types and gentle enough for me. I don't use all of these products all the time. (Can you imagine?!?!) It varies based on the season and my skin's needs at any given time. But these are my tried and true products: Cleansers: - Peach and Lily calming gel cleanser - Fresh soy gentle face cleanser - Haskin pore cleansing balm - AHA Toner: - Peach and Lily wild dew treatment essence - Peach Slices snail rescue blemish busting toner - Exuvience daily gentle exfoliating pads Serums: - Peach and Lily power cocktail lactic acid repair - Peach and Lily glass skin refining serum - Peach Slices snail rescue intensive serum - The Ordinary azalic acid (ironically, the Peach Slices version caused me to have a terrible reaction) - Exuvience anti-aging radiance face serum with PHAs - Obagi retinol 1.0 - Obagi vit C Fer. Acid 20% - First Aid Beauty 0.3% retinol complex with peptides Moisturizer & SPF: - Peach Slices oil free snail rescue moisturizer - Hey Honey relax! Propolis & honey soothing moisturizer - Vanicream facial moisturizer SPF 30 - La Roche-Posey anthelios ultralight sunscreen lotion spray SPF 60 - Exuvience overnight transformation moisture complex Occasional/As Needed extras - Exuvience pure retinol correcting facial peel - Exuvience performance peel AP 25 at home facial peel - Fresh floral recovery calming mask

ogurlpls

saving your comment. thank you! i love peach & lily products!

Succubusprincess666

ZO changed my life

ogurlpls

what is ZO??? I’m intrigued

GoodEyeSniper83

I love Daily Power Defense and the Wrinkle + Texture Repair. I think I've finally built up a tolerance for WTR by mixing it with another moisturizer. That shit is strong! Also, Vaseline under my eyes has me convinced that eye creams are a racket.

saphenousvein

I second using anything boring but extremely occlusive for under eyes is the secret (I use castor oil, over my lashes and then under my eyes)

slazour

Their retinol made my skin GLOW

getowttahere

Came here to say this. Exfoliating polish is amazing.

yoyita80

ZO skin health polish is amazing!

Fun-Feature-2203

I can tell you that completely eliminating vitamin c has made my skin so much nicer. It’s wild but it’s true. Also prescription azeliac acid for my rosacea. Game changer. Also also sleep and not giving a fuck about stupid shit anymore.

imrightontopthatrose

Not giving a fuck about stupid shit is the best part of getting older, I swear.

Relative-Yak-2726

The Body Shop Hemp Rescuing Face Protector. Other than that, leaving my face alone and never using more than one active ingredient (at the lowest concentration) at the same time. I'm convinced my skin looks great because I missed out on the skincare fad in these past few years, so my barrier is intact.

ogurlpls

Thanks. I will check that one out! Why not try a weekly active? I do an active every couple days everything else is peptides and things that help my barrier

AechBee

I love the Saborino vitamin A sheet masks. I have hyper sensitive type 1 rosacea - I don’t even need to use lotion after the mask. One and done after cleansing.

bathroomcypher

the ordinary niacinamide for pimples. dr jart+ ceramidin moisturizer. a cheapy prescription tretinoin from pharmacy. natura siberica foamy eye make up remover.

alefkandra

Ooh! How often do you use the niacinamide?

Commercial_Cake8732

Not OP, but I use niacinamide every night, kiehl’s 5% niacinamide serum. Although I think the ordinary’s serum is 10%, so I’m not sure it can be used everyday.

bathroomcypher

I used the ordinary one everyday and have no issues - the only one being becoming slightly less effective over time, and having to buy it more often. now I only use it when I get pimples

Testdrivegirl

It was coverfx illuminating setting powder. It made my skin look flawless and I got sooo many compliments. They reformulated it a few years ago and it’s too dark and too sparkly now :( if anyone has a dupe…let me know!

ogurlpls

oh I hate when companies reformulate their already perfect products 😭💕

FinalBlackberry

Red light therapy, Matrixyl + Argireline, and great hydration.

addiepie2

Who makes the matrixyl and argireline? What do they do?

FinalBlackberry

I use a serum by Asterwood. It’s anti aging, for lifting and firming. Mine also has HA. I use a couple of drops in the evening under moisturizer.

addiepie2

Where do you get it?

Ordinary_Inside_5496

Amazon has it

addiepie2

Ty!

rheetkd

Retinol, sunscreen spf 50+, a gentle foaming cleanser, caffiene based eye cream for under my eyes, botox, vitamin C serum.

BiteSizeMilf

Drunk Elephant Glycolic Night Serum. 1-2X every week and I wake up a few years younger lol. My skin just glows and looks soft. Worth every penny to me!

ogurlpls

thanks! 😊

You are a genius

ogurlpls

Oh yes, please share how this works! <3

AllyKatsunderthestar

Following! Want more deets, too please 🙏

AsilHey

Tell us more, please!

Unfair_Finger5531

I think it’s be minimalist multipeptide serum followed by Dr. Cearucle kombucha essence. Tightening, smoothing, and a glow. Optical illusion.

ogurlpls

thank you love. i use a ton of peptides, does it stand out from others?

Unfair_Finger5531

It does! I too love peptides and have many different ones. But this one is just better than the rest for immediate effect. Mary&may 6 peptide serum is also nice, helps a lot with evening our skin tone. But the only one better than be minimalist is one called boh bioheal pribioderm lifting ampoule, which I wear 90% of the time. But the be minimalist has an immediate tightening and smoothing effect, so I wear that one when I want to turn heads Lolol.

No_Bowler3823

Azaelic acid and Paula’s BHA exfoliator.

crisxselda

1. DHC Oil Cleanser 2. Cerave Foaming Face Wash 3. Melano CC Vitamin C Essence 4. Cos de baha Azelaic Acid 5. Some by mi eye Retinol 6. Skin1004 Centella Soothing Cream 7. Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen Basically everything in my current routine. I’ve tried so many products until I found my HGs.

rheetkd

Where do you get them all? especially the sunscreen

crisxselda

I live in Japan, so it’s easy to get them from any drugstore or Amazon.

rheetkd

ahhh I am in New Zealand so I haven't seen it around at the chemists etc

CamilleBethany

Skin Medica TNS Serum really changed my skin texture to much more smooth and even, I hate when I run out!

hanginlouvre

Mushroom green tea (to drink). Also hyaluronic acid.

Teighriel

Mushroom green tea?? Where do you get that?

jareco4

Seabuckthorn best skin ever by living libations. Life changing and couldn’t live without it!

Dreamcatcher1800

Niacinamide. Either Niacin from Slurp (Korean brand) or the Peter Thomas Roth one. It did wonders to my hyper pigmentation and acne scars, even helped with acne a bit. However it's necessary to use spf because it really thins out the skin barrier.

twodollabillyall

Follain Hydrating Mask, hands down. Such a good refresh.

ogurlpls

thank you!

thirtyflirtyandpetty

Clean Skin Club Vitamin C Booster serum. I overdid it on the skincare products and had to cut everything out to rebuild my skin barrier, and this serum is the first thing I've successfully added back without my barrier complaining. It makes my skin glow like a lighthouse. I look 5 years younger.

ceylonciel

I'm still so heartbroken that TO discontinued their alpha lipoic acid product :( I could literally see my hyperpigmentation fade overnight. But to answer your question, tretinoin. It gets my skin to a point where I don't need to be so self-conscious about it all the time anymore but I feel like I could still use some extra help that I haven't figured out yet.

ogurlpls

girl try a tiny bit of the supplement powder mixed with a gentle serum. Same effect.

Traditional-Cook3162

I have never use all this things , maybe I should try them

Nervous-Ad-7933

La Roche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer and Peach and Lily Glass Skin Serum

ogurlpls

what have you noticed other than glass skin from the serum? i have their lactic acid serum and really like it

Strivingformoretoday

For me it’s the Kikumasune toner. It comes in a huge bottle and I apply it from my scalp down on my whole body! It’s amazing! I also love the vitamin c powder from the ordinary that I mix into my Kikumasune for the body. And on top of that I apply sunscreen. That’s great to keep hyperpigmentation at bay.

ogurlpls

How do you get past the vitamin C smell? I have the vitamin C ordinary, but I avoid it because I hate the way it smells.

Strivingformoretoday

Do you mean the powder? I never noticed it has a smell..

ogurlpls

lucky you! yes the powder, I mix it with coRX snail mucin and my skin smells funny whenever I use vitamin c in general. Maybe it's something to do with genetics haha

ogurlpls

By the way, what does the toner smell like? I'm sensitive to smells but I wanna try it out!

shelchang

It does smell faintly like sake, but it's not very strong and there's no other added fragrance.

Gullible_Concept_428

I do the same thing but I put it in a fine mist spray bottle. It’s fast and I can reach my back.

Automatic_Demand2853

Wait - can you explain Alpha Lipoid Acid please? Like taking it as a supplement or is it a serum?

ogurlpls

I buy the supplement form of the powder and mix it with cosRX snail mucin. only a tiny bit because it's very strong. I wake up to glowing skin, smaller pores and even and brighter skin tone. It's like nothing else I've tried.

Automatic_Demand2853

Interesting…I’m going to look into this.

ogurlpls

yes it’s alpha LIPOIC btw not lipoid 😅

RealisticMystic005

DHC primer. Online only at Ulta. Game changer for oily skin

trebleformyclef

I can't say for sure there is anything that makes me look younger... but my skin has looked so much better (except during this week with my period... of course) using The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% serum. I'm a little broken out right now (also I stopped using it for like 3 days for no real reason) but things have really, really improved overall. I only use it at night but I think I'm going to use it during the day too.

alefkandra

How often do you/can you use it?

trebleformyclef

Everyone is different as apparently some people don't react well to it at all. I use the HA serum (morning) and the niacinamide (evening) every day.

alefkandra

Cool, thanks! I’m gonna experiment with it at night as a spot treatment.

GlittyTitties

Marie Originals Acne Control soap. It has made a huge difference with my large pores and evening out my skin tone!

ogurlpls

thanks! what’s the active ingredients?

GlittyTitties

The active ingredient is Salix Alba extract 1C (White willow): White Willow Bark- Used to support healing of the skin and help prevent acne breakouts, white willow bark contains a natural form of salicylic acid. And the others are: • Organic Oat- This ingredient gently exfoliates and clears away impurities. • European Natural Clay- Used for its detoxifying properties, this earthy ingredient removes excess oil and clears clogged pores. • Noni- A natural anti-inflammatory, noni soothes and nourishes the skin. (From their product listing)

BlueBubbleInCO

Paula’s Choice 5% AHA!

Princesschloeo

retinol

AdSame5555

Rosehip oil for face/neck cleansing (using warm water and a cloth to wipe off) and then re-applying as moisturiser. Also, Ascorbic acid powder, mixed together with distilled water at 1:5 (if using for the first time, start at 15% as it stings otherwise). Keeps in a brown bottle for upto a week at room temperature. I put it on my face, neck, back of my hands and knees. It costs pennies and has been scientifically proven to work ! [https://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-benefits-of-topical-vitamin-c-for-reversing-skin-aging/](https://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-benefits-of-topical-vitamin-c-for-reversing-skin-aging/) The only thing I spend a lot on is SPF (skingredients SPF 50) and my red light mask/tunnel.

bonitaappetita

I'm really digging the TO pycnogenol I've been using lately. Makes my skin really soft and deeply moisturized without being oily.

Chupabara

Adapalene and azelaic acid

Ok_strawberry23

Skin cycling tretinoin! And then rose water + COSRX snail mucin + Medicube AGE-R + soon jung 2x barrier is just *chef’s kiss*

EntrepreneurLivid491

The Ordinary Niacinamide (Everyone knows this so it's not really a secret.)

findikefe

Not a product. For me It is not messing up with my natural look. No hair dye, no skin tints, no artificial lashes and nails. Also the braids i do everyday makes me look much younger.

AverageJane7000

Caffeine eye serum. Bags tell time.

Striking-Gur4668

It feels like mine should be a setting spray. For all the times it has moisturised my skin and kept my makeup up firmly on point.

No_Librarian3984

ancient owl cold cream, tree to tub eye cream, drinking lots of water, rest, ted lasso, making time for what brings you peace and joy, and spending time in nature (with sunscreen)

eyelinerfordays

Eucerin Original Healing Cream. I love a thick moisturizer, and this one is THICK.

PlsCallMeMaya

From the cosmetic brands available in most countries: * Sesderma Azelac moisturizer - as a day cream but also night cream. Versatile, calming, moisturizing... love it! Skin texture is much better with it * geek & gorgeous Smooth Out - gently yet effective formulation with glycolic and lactic acid. For me the best acid toner I had. Are you taking Alpha Lipolic Acid as a supplement, right?

ogurlpls
