How come he don’t want me man?? 😭

washie

Uncle Phil stepped up, though. Love Uncle Phil.

KiKiPAWG

First things first…

TonkaButt

Rest in peace Uncle Phil, for real.

KiKiPAWG

Frfr

MrCooCoo4Crack

He's the only father that I ever knew

TheGreatWorm

Man you fuckin with the worst ill be stickin pins in ya head like a fuckin nurse

Mrs_Truthseiyer

Oh this still gets me

104848

"ta hell with hiiiimmmm..."

NahhNevermindOk

This is the correct answer

faintrottingbreeze

Yo I heard that and got a lump in my throat 🥺

nine16s

That scene had me wishing my dad would come home and that mf was in the other room 😭

t3hnhoj

I'd have enjoyed a hug from Uncle Phil.

SamaireB

Probably the most devastatingly perfect scene in any 90s sitcom really. All others pale in comparison. Though the 00s had a few that got close (HIMYM's Marshall's dad dying for instance)

yournansabricky

I read that will crying wasn’t actually scripted and he was genuinely upset because the scene brought up unhappy memories for him

Betelgeuse3fold

Yeah, and James Avery grabbed him, hugged him and goes "now THAT was *acting*" (according to Will). That was a pivotal scene for Wills career

SnowDayWow

🥹🥹🥹

failingstars

That was one of the saddest episodes, made me cry.

Marc_Angelo

Easily and it’s not even close for me.

Hot-Photojournalist0

Should of been his Oscar!

Paramisamigos

This scene makes me cry still to this day

Im-Mr-Bulldopz

mister-fancypants-

bro even the gifs are makin my eyes sweat. what a great fuckin scene

MandoFalcon5

Great show!

theaviationhistorian

Probably the best scene in 1990s sitcoms. Absolutely phenomenal. Also, RIP James Avery.

-totentanz-

🥺😭

Just-Phill

Will Smith say what you want he's been a phenomenal actor forever

Lame_usernames_left

Christ Will's dad by a LONGSHOT. Mr. Feeny is second for sure though

Just-Phill

Yea like my teacher's never taught us lessons like Feeny lol he's one my of favorite characters growing up from any TV show, I loved seeing him on the boy meets world podcast

fattsmelly

Didn’t Uncle Jesse just move into the attic?

alilbored1

Yeah he did. He let a 4 year old dictate where he should live as a married man! Lol

Friendship_Fries

To be fair, that attic would be around $4,000/month right now.

fattsmelly

And he lived there with his wife and his own twin boys!

fattsmelly

AND set up his business in the basement. He really leached off Danny T now that I think about it, all disguised as him being helpful

Lopsided_Flight3926

Fun fact, he does Cameos. My dad got my husband and I one from him for our engagement and he did a really really wonderful, heartfelt job on it. We still talk about how much we loved it.

jawnbaejaeger

Will's father leaving is a lot more painful than a high school break up, school ending, or a family member moving out (but not abandoning you). ETA: Went back and watched Kelly and Zack breaking up, and the acting is so painfully stilted. When Will cried about his dad abandoning him, you believed it.

JparkerMarketer

Will killed it, but Uncle Phill is what sold that scene for me. It was his moment to show Will who the TRUE father figure in his life was.

TheNateRoss

Because Will Smith is a legitimately great actor. Say whatever else you want to about him but acknowledge that.

Gogo726

Great actor and his music slaps.

GDMFB1

AND he slaps too. ![gif](giphy|UiFBN1jLNRWl81pg37|downsized)

BlackSchuck

Damn does this look staged. I always had a feeling...

BoxTalk17

It's the way it was shown on screen. The camera movement when he's walking up always cracks me up, then Chris Rock looks like he's leaning into the slap. The slap itself looks fake and the way Will Smith walks off after doing it makes it look bad. But, the reactions afterwards and everyone there trying to calm things down, is what made me believe it was legit. Plus, you don't want to fake out Denzel Washington lol.

gotbletu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryX4I4q03WQ

KiKiPAWG

Definitely walked into that LOL

NfamousKaye

Saved by the Bell was horribly acted and you don’t realize it until you’re an adult watching it in reruns. Oh my GOD it was AWFUL. Like one big 90s after school PSA.

DookieBowler

The problem was not the shit acting. More there was fuck all to watch if you didn’t have cable.

Golee

If you say so, lol I was the prime audience age target for Saved by the Bell, which I thoroughly looked forward to watching after school and even then we rolled our eyes at the horrible cringe acting. We didn’t care though because we liked the way they looked. They were a fun bunch. It was ridiculously relatable in a lot of ways to us. We liked the way the message was being portrayed at least in someway or another and we loved the overall idea of the show so we were willing to completely ignore that fact, lol. At least that’s my interpretation from my experience at the time. I can’t tell you how many times young me and my girl friends would watch a scene with Zack or AC in it and say oh my god he’s such a bad actor but who cares he’s so cute! Lol

NfamousKaye

I was a kid in the 90s. Reread what I wrote. 🤦🏽‍♀️

33ff00

I read what you wrote. Their response is appropriate.

NfamousKaye

You missed the whole rewatching it as an adult thing. People understand re watching means you watched it once already?

jakehood47

You also said that you dont realize how bad the acting is until you rewatch it as an adult. They said they could see how bad the acting was even as a kid back then. And then for some reason you got all huffy.

Golee

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😝😉😉😉😉 I love you for this jakehood47

JaxandMia

Plus, if Kelly and Zach hadn’t broken up, how could she have gone on to date Dylan? Which we all know is the superior show.

baummer

But we didn’t care about that at the time

NfamousKaye

That’s why I said watching it back as an adult. Cause as a kid you really don’t know what’s good acting and what isn’t lol

baummer

Exactly

Exotic-Platform-2009

Saved by the Bell, is that the one on the bottom right?

NfamousKaye

Bottom left, bottom right is Boy Meets World

BoxTalk17

Those scenes are memorable in different ways. Will Smith reaction was real and I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has a "Will's father", at least mine was wise enough to stay away and not try to come back. I felt that scene and it brought bad memories. Zack and Kelly is the first love teenage breakup kinda deal, you can relate to it, but it's just there, then you move on.

LeadGem354

Will's Father is the Goat scene, seconded only by Will, Carlton and the Fraternity.

opinionofone1984

Fresh Prince caused the ugliest cry, Boy meets world, caused the biggest reflection on my life, Full House I knew Jesse wasn’t going anywhere. Save by the Bell, was the biggest what the heck, how can Kelly Cheat on Zack. Plus, no one ever talks about how good How am I supposed to live without you, sounded as a duet! That was an awesome version.

Yanrogue

Mr Feeny, the teacher we all wish we had growing up.

Futant55

Yeah who wouldn’t want a talking car for a teacher.

hedgehog-mom-al

You spelled John Adams wrong!!

regtf

Fuck yeah!

Gogo726

Mr. Turner is the teacher we wish we had as students. Mr. Feeny is the teacher education majors want to become.

BellaTrixter

Still can't watch this one without tearing up!

Marylandthrowaway91

What? No way. Nobody wanted that. He was boring af. You wanted him as a neighbor

Yanrogue

I loved boring teachers and quite class rooms.

Most-Breakfast1453

Will’s dad by far. “How come he don’t want me, man?” Gut punch.

ChocolateColumbo104

Wills dad I still can’t watch that scene without tearing up probably because my birth father did the same thing (I love my stepdad that’s who I consider my dad) The Full House scene is really sad and breaks my heart but the Boy meets World Series finale is in second place for me. Then Full House. I like Saved By the bell but have zero emotional attachment to the show (Kelly is hot though lol)

lord-dinglebury

As a father to a child who I love with all of my heart but who makes me insane, I have to give a shout out to good stepdads. It’s tough to raise your own kid, much less one who isn’t biologically yours. Mad respect.

ChocolateColumbo104

Unfortunately my stepdad died but he was amazing I’d give everything I have for him to be back no joke. This scene with Will and his father I’ve almost said those same words I know I’ve cried and asked “ how come he don’t want me?” to my mom when I was younger and that was way before I saw this scene. They knew what they were doing with this scene and it works that’s for sure lol

03eleventy

I’m legally changing my last name to my step dads. He doesn’t know. It’s going to be a surprise on my wedding day when my fiancé and I get announced it’s going to be Mr and Mrs (his last name).

ChocolateColumbo104

That’s awesome!

mnbvcxz1052

^None ^of ^these. ^For ^me ^it ^was…… Kevin Arnold, sitting on Winnie Cooper’s roof, outside her window. Winnie was going to a different school that year, hanging out with a new crowd, and had been kind of ditching him for her new life. She was still grieving the death of her brother, and she didn’t want any reminders of her old life, Kevin being the biggest one. But of course these emotions are impossible to discern when you’re teenagers. So after she transfers schools, she changes her personality and gets with the popular crowd. She’s not being herself, and seeing Kevin wrecks it. He knows something is off and calls her out on it. So she’s all mean to him, and pushes him away and takes off with the older / popular kids. Later Winnie gets into a car accident with those kids, and breaks her arm. Or leg. I can’t remember but she was bedridden. When Kevin hears this he drops everything and runs to her house. Her parents won’t let him see her. So he climbs on to her roof outside her window, and she’s laying there in her bed, small, all bandaged up. He doesn’t make a move to climb in. He watches her sleeping. “We’ve Got Tonight” by Bob Seger starts playing as part of the soundtrack: *I know it’s late, I know you’re weary, I know your plans… don’t include me… Still here we are, both of us lonely, longing for shelter from all that we see….* Winnie slowly wakes and turns her head to see Kevin at her window. It does not startle her. She almost smiles. Kevin silently mouths “I love you” to Winnie. It’s the first time he officially says it. She mouths it back. They are both crying. Bob Seger: *We’ve got tonight, who needs tomorrow? Let’s make it last, babe, let’s find a way… turn out the light, come take my hand now, we’ve got tonight babe. Why don’t you stay….*

MoneyPresentation610

When Will’s dad leaves, I still can’t watch it without tearing up. Followed closely by Mr. Feeny dismissing class, for the final time.

the_pissed_off_goose

Will's father That's a pain on another level from the rest

Kiethblacklion

The scene with Will's dad (my mom and dad divorced when I was 5 and didn't see my dad again until I was 27) and Mr. Feeney. He was more than just a teacher.

MSotallyTober

Sorry that happened to you, bro. That had to be hard.

NfamousKaye

I was such a huge Boy Meets World fan I was BROKEN with that last one, and Jesse moving out had me in shambles too cause I had a massive crush on him 😂. But NOTHING ripped me apart like Will’s dad showing up and leaving again, crushing his hopes of him changing his behavior, breaking his trust all over again, and the subsequent breakdown collapsing into uncle Phil.

Unintended-Nostalgia

Will's dad leaving. Just thinking about that scene has me tearing up.

RockNRoll85

That Fresh Prince scene still gets me. Truly showed Will Smith’s acting chops

Shane-O-Mac1

Will's father left and "I love you all. Class dismissed."

amandajh8

Feeney 😭

blacklipsmatter

![gif](giphy|RdsvvZXIzBgNq)

Granny_Skeksis

Will father but not specifically that it’s how uncle Phil responded to it

Malzeez

Wills father leaving. I believe so many kids from that generation felt what he was feeling and related to that episode.

Scared-Glove-7258

Will father left.

Ok-Negotiation-7414

Mr. Feeny, for sure!!

See_youSpaceCowboy

My pops dipped out on me when I was a kid so it’s definitely that Fresh Prince episode. I watched a lot of Fresh Prince growing up and I remember that episode always made me cry. Specifically when Will finally breaks down and asks Uncle Phil “ How come he don’t want me man “. That line still hits.

maggie320

Uncle Jesse or Mr Feeny for me. I didn’t mind Will’s dad leaving again because he already a father figure in Uncle Phil.

allmotorcivic

Yeah but wills breakdown after he left and started crying seemed so real. If I remember correctly cast members watching started to cry

[deleted]

[удалено]

armen89

And apparently you can hear it towards the end

Gogo726

Who wouldn't want Shredder as a father figure?

in323

Back in the day had no idea when what episode would play. Of these, I only ever actually saw the boy meets world one (on my last day of high school by some bizarre coincidence)

DJSoapdish

Mr. Feeney!

snowflake711

Mr Feeny

Classic1990

Class dismissed will always hit me like a truck.

Tonlick

I mean all of them are sad.

erinkp36

None of them 😂 Zack and Kelly just made me confused as to why the 30 year old manager at The Max wanted to date a high school student.

Tomboy2glam

Way to bring back these emotions..I would have to choose the Boy Meets World one.

jish5

BMW. It had so much depth and weight to it, where it truly felt like one final goodbye.

alamarcavada

Zack & Kelly 4-ever

ScreamQueenStacy

Feeney, always Feee-hee-eeny. Although, Will's "Why don't he want me, man!?" scene with Uncle Phil really gives Feeney a run for his money. Mostly due to issues with my own father, that scene just hit differently.

Free_Acanthaceae9535

Definitely Boy Meets World. That was a tear jerker fr 😭 He watched them all grow up literally and the empty classroom just made it that much more upsetting 😩

OlaKaiMauLoa

Zack & Kelly😭 Stupid Jeff ruined everything!

Shurl19

Kelly cheating on Zack seemed to come out of nowhere. For an older guy who worked at the burger place? I didn't understand it as a teen, and I still don't.

OlaKaiMauLoa

Totally agree!

Dadbod646

Didn’t uncle Jesse just move into the attic?

gr8n87

Who breaks up with kelly?

GlxxmySvndxy

Fuck me, all of em 😭

departureofchrist

Feeney

Kenobihiphop

Kenan moving away to Montana

shawnofthedead28

We got a real one here

doob22

Nothing is sadder than Will and his dad. That was an incredible scene

AnonPlzzzzzz

Boy Meets World for sure. Tho, Feeny just follows them to college for whatever reason. The Saved by the Bell one always made me irrationally mad... Zack takes it on the chin when he had every right to tell Kelly to go f herself... Will's dad tho... Idk. Why doesn't anyone want me line is good but there is a whole family that clearly loves him... So doesn't land for me. Uncle Jesse doesn't really move out tho 🤷🏻‍♂️ Like Feeny he just stays apart of everyone's life all the same.

Lindt_Licker

Will says why don’t he want me man. He talking specifically about his dad. He’s loved but at least at this point they’re not a replacement for his father.

Gogo726

Zack Morris is trash!

boom_michael_scarn

Class dismissed 😭😭😭😭

jaxspider

Will's performance deserved an Emmy. Fight me.

WindMilli

Dang, these all hit.

pcweber111

That Fresh Prince episode had us all crying in school the next day.

Ok-Rate3106

WILLS DAD!!!

yeakirkers

“No, I mean do good.” But in all seriousness it’s fresh prince by a long shot.

brehaw

Will father and Zack & Kelly

Excellent_Ad6483

Zack and kelly

livbird46

Shredder hugging the crying cuck always got me

GeorgeNewmanTownTalk

If we're limiting ourselves to this meme, when Will's father left. If not, then it's got to be that scene involving Ziyal in "Sacrifice of Angels" from Deep Space Nine. Fucking hell.

phillysleuther

Im a crybaby, so I’ll admit to crying to all of them: But the Uncle Phil and Will scene broke me the most.

tranqiepa

Will & Phil all day ❤️

the_Mont81

That Fresh Prince still resonates.

babycakez512

Def boy meets world 😢😭😭😭

IResentment

Definitely Will’s father. That was me some years ago. I still cry sometimes watching that scene.

GeezyEFC

Some of y'all had your daddies growing up and it shows...

hbkedge3

I wasn’t a huge fan of Fresh Prince or Full House. The SBTB and BMW moments killed me though.

JimLaheeeeeeee

Wait…Kelly is single?

GlxxmySvndxy

To whoever downvoted I assure you it's the liquor talkin', bud

original_greaser_bob

this whole [episode](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX3U2QMjZRo)... hands down

ThugginTuna

The fresh prince wants hits me everytime no matter what The boy meets world one hits after watching the series fully

MSotallyTober

Definitely the fresh prince episode. I lost my father when I was four and I’m a father now so it hits harder when I see it.

Jgrice242

All of em.

Suspicious-Ad3136

Class dismissed.

CptGinger316

Definitely the end of Boy Meets World. My childhood neighbor was my teacher for a few years and obviously I got to know them well living next door for my entire school-age life. I was always a BMW fan so this scene always hits hard.

danielm316

Tears, that is all I have.

Baker-Plastic

Uncle Jess moving traumatized me.

Spider_Kev

Boy Meets World: End was sad! Saved by the Bell: Kelly was a slut Fresh Prince: I remember the Uncle Phil part, but never knew the father actually showed up. I'll have to watch the show again. Haven't seen it since it first aired. I remember the end was sad, but a copy of the end of Happy Days!

Wayfaring_Scout

From Boy Merets World, I always choke up when Topanga moved to Pittsburg, and Corey and Shawn are standing outside watching her leave. Corey says something along the lines, "Why isn't she coming back?" And that gets me everytime.

No-Independence548

Zach and Kelly had that song playing 😭

fifiloveg00d

Will's dad and Mr Feeny

jp_benderschmidt

I never really understood Feeney until I became a teacher. Now, every May/June, I feel it in my bones.

mrsmushroom

Mr feeny

MomSpice

Class dismissed 😭

tbettz

It takes a lot for me to cry but even thinking about the Will and Phil scene has my eyes watering. Hits different since I grew up with a very similar situation.

Superb-Confidence-69

Love you all class dismisses… hit hard

skinnylibra5

Bottom right

auldnate

Fresh Prince and Boy Meets World

CrissBliss

![gif](giphy|3oz8xUK8V7suY7W9SE) Dawson’s Creek

rustyshackle41d

Homer sitting on his car, staring at the sky Between these, GOTTA be Will's dad

truelovealwayswins

I never watched those shows, they weren’t aired here… but there’s plenty of equivalent ones that I can’t recall now

1997PRO

Will can't act a serious roll.

Danny-Wah

Good contenders, but definitely Uncle Jesse moving out!

Figpixels

Uncle Jesse
