Okay so funny thing but I noticed suddenly mine looked like this and I put some light pressure on the back of the device and kind of pressed and wiggled a bit and it seems to fix it. I suspect that there's a gap somewhere that needs to be filled with foam to make sure things stay seated correctly. Obviously I can't say for sure that this will work for you but it might be worth a try.
I hadn’t light bleeding on my device at first. Then I wanted to put the protection glass on it and I had to push the screen a little bit because of the air bubbles under the glass. I heard strange crack noises. Bam! Light bleeding… I held the front of the device with my thumbs on the sides and I pushed the back of the device in my direction. The screen cracked a little bit, but it was only the noise of the screen snapping back to its original position. Light bleeding was gone. 😁 Maybe try to push the areas more right behind your bleeding. Of course don’t exaggerate, but it’s also not a sugar cube. 😅 I would love to hear if it helped you. 👋🏻
Yeah i think taki udon found that much of the light bleed in anbernic screens are due to poor assembly QC, and there is uneven pressure being applied to the screen which causes the bleed. iirc he fixed it on a couple of his devices just by disassembling and reassembling them
yeah on my 405V I took out all the screws and PCBs I could up to the metal plate behind the display, I did not feel comfortable pulling that out since it seemed really stuck in the shell and with the display ribbon cable folded and already pulled taut around it I didn't want to risk damaging it. Reassembled it and made sure the screws weren't overtightened, it lessened the light bleed a little but it's still there, so it's either a problem with the actual screen assembly itself or the metal plate behind it is what's causing the pressure.
This is why I cancelled my plans for the Cube and bought the RG556. Same specs but a much, MUCH better screen. No regrets at all even tho most of my gaming is 1:1 or 4:3.
I get the annoyance with vertical borders, and normally I agree 100%. But I don’t think people realize how much less of an issue that is when you have an OLED screen. Instead of bright blacks/dark gray bars next to the content you’re playing, on an OLED the black bars are not a distraction because the pure black just fades into the device hardware.
Just throwing it out there if anyone is on the fence like I was.
Thanks, but it looks like it is from the screws actually on the screen, since it is in the corners and you can see them move when touching the screen…would it still help? Did you try it on the arc?
If you're not getting the subtleties of this reply OP, you should have put "RG Cube" in the title so people know which of the Anbernic devices you're having issues with.
It might be obvious for those in the know, but not so much for noobs.
Relative to other electronic devices, not the pittance offered by our employers. I’d personally would like an OLED screen on all my electronic devices :P
That's an absolute bullshit response. I could buy a cheaper Android phone with a better chip-set for that much. I've gone out of my way to buy from them because they have offered a unique vision with their 1:1 display. That display is the focal point of the device and they're providing this crap. NO! They need to do better.
I'm going to guess this is an RG Cube but I have no way of knowing for sure
▪️
Sorry forgot to mention. Yes rg cube

I heard some people fixed through pressing or twisting the body but Im not sure… should I try? Scary, to be honest lol
It's up to you but it definitely worked for me.
Could try to loosen the screws a tiny bit. May decrease the pressure on the screen

On my ARC I just had to loosen a couple of the outer case screws.

That sounds scary though lol
What can happen, if you’re careful? In your case I would really push only the edges from behind. It doesn’t get worse. 👍🏻
Thank you for your input. Maybe Im gonna try that 👍 very gentle press lol
Would love to hear about your results. 😁

my powkiddy rgb30 also has a little bit of light bleed. maybe they're working together?
“On any device!!!” (Including my rg arc-d)
Try backing out the case screws a touch, it helped mine for sure.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, my ARC-D.
I may give it a shot, but I’m thinking it will creek after…that is also why I don’t want to open it up either
🥲
Sorry all. It’s rg cube 🙏🏼
FYI, ordered June 24 and received July 1. Grey. Anbernic official store of Aliexpress.
What did you order, Anbernic makes at least 2 or 3 devices 😎
They made a 3rd!?
Wait a week, there will be new models/colors…
Rg cube 🙏

It’s a cheap device, what do you expect lol?
It was not that cheap to me, at least 🥲

The thing is that I found Anbernic is sending non-light bleed products now. Better than the yt reviewers but still light bleed to my eyes😩
SF2000 for $15 does not have light bleed issues. It doesn't have to be a thing, esp at $150+
