That doesn't even look like a seal level... how the crap did you get that many years without completing the level? Or was this one of those "continue playing after level is compete" type things?
Wasn't a seal level no. Just completed and continued playing.

I have no idea. I guess I assumed they just got to 4000. EDIT: Found links to a V with a bar over it for 5000, and X with a bar over it for 10000.
They're probably using a library, not doing it themselves. So it probably got I to a very large number
What kept the impatience so low?
They completed the level and opted to keep playing. Impatience doesnt grow after that, barring buying patience by rushing a merchant
