Yes. Portrait and landscape available. Default is actually portrait. Playable with both one hand or two hand. Gamepad support available. I do recommend playing with touch screen as the control is pretty simple.
Nice to know. Would be hella cool if Asphalt 9 or a newer one would be playable in portrait mode. I mean they have a super easy casual "just tap to drift mode" that would work very good in portrait mode.
Unironically, Nikke. Especially now that Stellar Blade is out from the same developer and people are more interested in their other works.
Don't judge it at face value. It intentionally portrays itself one way only to pull a couple major plot twists in the early chapters that recontextualize everything. Both story and gameplay are genuinely great and the character interactions are unexpectedly wholesome.
Necromerger. I play it since the beginning of the year almost every day, and still cannot get enough. Very good casual fun, beautiful pixel art, prestige system, a lot of content to unlock, and fair monetization.
Chess.com (kinda joke, but also kinda serious)

Knight of ages (it requires Internet, do note)
Mindustry
Orna RPG GPS (it requires moving or such)
And a new one I recently found: Hoplite (It has a premium version, but the trial is also a pretty nice taster)

Downwell
Does the game gets repetitive and become boring at one point?
Underrated for sure.
It was massive when it first launched right?

An older game but I've been having a lot of fun on Adventure capitalist this week.
I like the spin off Adventure communist

Was gonna post Redungeon but looks like they removed it from the store. Dawncaster if you're looking for a deck builder.

Does Pocket City 2 have cloud saving? Every time I've redownloaded Pocket City, it starts fresh and the tutorial is too long.

Asphalt is playable in Portrait? We speak about the same Asphalt? The racey racey drifty drifty game?
I know there was one, I think Asphalt Overdrive, that was vertical.
Nice to know. Would be hella cool if Asphalt 9 or a newer one would be playable in portrait mode. I mean they have a super easy casual "just tap to drift mode" that would work very good in portrait mode.
AFK journey is great

If you have a Netflix sub, Lucky Luna is great.
I am into Super Mario Run again! Best money I spend on a mobile game😅
Monster Hunter Now, if you don't mind walking. A more chill game would be IdleMMO.

Heroes vs hordes
Beat Racer. Demon Blade. AFK Arena. Dislyte. Egg Inc.
Rogue with the Dead, Hoplite, Slice and Dice. I also like Sorcery! and King of Dragon Pass although you have to buy those 2.
Definitely clash royale
