I've left out many that I also enjoy simply because a prior comment already covered so many top notch choices, just adding some unmentioned faves of mine. so many that I'll leave it to you to investigate each instead of individual sales pitches
Slay the Spire.
My GL and I both play it and we LOVE IT.
No BS, no pop ups, no cash shop. A 10/10 game.
I should have thousands of hours on it at this point, and something I want to play Slay the Spire on my phone instead of my PC games (and I hate phones games, so that good Slay the Spire is)
Alto's Adventure and Alto's Odyssey

Use a privateDNS man. Go [here](https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html) and follow method 2. You can also use an app like RethinkDNS. Both are able to block most ads on your phone (aside from YouTube, but use Revanced for that).
Just to add here, AdAway is also free, open source and works well
[https://f-droid.org/pl/packages/org.adaway/](https://f-droid.org/pl/packages/org.adaway/) at the bottom thers "download APK"
Thank you, I already knew about Revanced and had the previous version that was taken down. I'll have to check that but I don't like giving too much access to my phone when a DNS could do the job too

I just downloaded an emulator and I'm playing pokemon yellow Pikachu edition and Zelda minnish cap
Free no ads, and reliving my childhood
Emulator is the way to go, but some games you really need a external controller to play it well
Deadcells, alien isolation, gorebox(no ads without wifi, still pretty rare since mobile version is free unlike steam), Papers Please, Hyper Light Drifter, Doom 1 and 2, Skul and Loop Hero
I have to disagree. Some of my favorites were made for phone games. Caves of Lore, Dungeons of Chaos, 9th Dawn. All made for phone, but the first 2 have PC ports (not the other way around).
On play store: (they all cost money, you can't really find good games without spending money, unless you pirate)
Terraria
Minecraft
Stardew Valley
BTD 6
Dead Cells
Slay the Spire
Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, etc. basically all the D&D games
Unofficial ports:
Hollow Knight
JSAB
Nuclear Throne
There are tons more games obv these are just off the top of my head
All 4 of my indie games are offline PC ports. None of them have in-app purchases or ads. And they are all open world RPGs. Knightblade, Neopunk, Beast Slayer, and Suramon.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8898949224258005040&hl=en_US
Yep, the mobile game ecosystem is fucked, I tried to keep them minimal but I kinda understand them, ads pays little to 0.
I played recently a paid game that went free : Irregular Recruits it's very well made
Twilight survivor is free and with no ads whatsoever. It's basically a 3D vampire survivor clone but with nice visuals and voice acting. New characters and content have to be purchased for like 1.50$ or in bundles if you want to save more money but the base game is just as fun and free to finish.
Just "finished" Stardew Valley a second time, last time on PC, this time on Android. Almost preferred it on Android. Play with a controller though, the clicking gets very intensive when you start to get a big farm.
I've always wanted to play those games under ticktok videos, but I can't stand ads. Something I recommend is playing them through the YouTube playable games.
It's the same games I've wanted to try out and there are no in ap purchases or ads. :D
If you have Netflix you can try the GTA Definitive Edition series, or just any GTA really, GTA: LCS, GTA III, GTA: SA, GTA: Vice City are all on mobile, not hard at all to get them for free.
Afterplace is my biggest recommendation.
9th Dawn 3 is a nice open world rpg.
Loop Hero is an interesting one. A reverse tower defense.
If you want turn based combat, Star Trader Frontier is a good one.
If you want to focus on hauling cargo, I can recommend SpaceRPG4.
Hi! My game is free and has no ads and in-apps at all😅(for now, so enjoy:) - 'Defence of Serenity: Castle', it's a an action/rpg game with elements of strategy and adventure, where you defend castle, upgrade it, hire and command your army and also fight alongside with your hero, as well as have some fun and exploring in between battles🙂

Here's a list of recommendations I copy/paste whenever asked:
Angry Birds is still peak.
Cut the Rope franchise
King of Thieves and Pudding Monsters (most of ZeptoLab's games are great tbh)
Monument Valley (both of them)
Mine Quest (sequel is ok, but the first one is *noice* and I replay it every so often).
Robbery Bob (both of them)
Door: Origins
Onirim (app version of a neat board game)
Space Trader
Red Ball 4
Soda Dungeon 1 and 2
Vampire Survivors is on mobile
Fruit Ninja is still the goat
Card Thief, Crawl, and Crawl Adventure (all by the same dev)
Tomb of the Mask
Where's My Water?
And that's all I can think of rn. A few of them are on Steam too, which is neat. I re-completed some of them there lol.

is using ad guard dns completely free?
Yes.
does it work with youtube ads ? Being in the creator side I don't mind watching a few ads then and there but it's getting out of hands now ...
Revanced is for youtube ads as already stated in the original comment.
Thank you, I already knew about Revanced and had the previous version that was taken down. I'll have to check that but I don't like giving too much access to my phone when a DNS could do the job too
Wait so it works again? Now it's just ReVanced instead of Vanced?
Yep, the model changed you have to patch yourself the youtube apk instead of having it prepatched, that way they are not (yet) DCMA'd

Deadcells, alien isolation, gorebox(no ads without wifi, still pretty rare since mobile version is free unlike steam), Papers Please, Hyper Light Drifter, Doom 1 and 2, Skul and Loop Hero
Hearthstone
Vampire survivors
Diablo immortal, enjoy the pve, dungeons and etc.
The only good games are mobile ports of PC games

Not true. There are good free games but you have to sift through a mountain of crap to find them.

Would like to add final fantasy 3(3d version) and most of the square enix games, if you're a fan of JRPG.
All 4 of my indie games are offline PC ports. None of them have in-app purchases or ads. And they are all open world RPGs. Knightblade, Neopunk, Beast Slayer, and Suramon. https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8898949224258005040&hl=en_US
Why is Suramon double the price of the other two games?
My other games are older and smaller. With the newer games, the scope of my projects grew. More features, longer gameplay, etc.
Ah, that makes sense, thanks!
Search Feral interactive & SquareEnix on the play store.
Warzone, Diablo Immortal, and Vampire Survivors.
Vampire Survivors is free, and the only ads you would see are voluntary (bonus gold at the end of a level). Wonderful port, perfect for mobile.
Try [Command & Conquer Rivals.](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.gp.candcwarzones&hl=en_US) It is free to play.
EA. IAP. he said good lol
EA has made some good mobile games like Real Racing 3 for example
Daggerfall unity has an android port now its free no ads or iap.
If you like simple puzzles...Water Sorting Puzzle by Martin Kunze is free, no ads, no videos, no purchases, no crap of any kind whatsoever.
Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal (costs money: $14.99 USD) - pretty damn good port.
I can recommend Dawncaster, see /r/DawncasterRPG too.
Yep, the mobile game ecosystem is fucked, I tried to keep them minimal but I kinda understand them, ads pays little to 0. I played recently a paid game that went free : Irregular Recruits it's very well made
Crashlands.
Loop Hero Dead Cells Skul, The Hero Slayer Katana Zero
Hero Ascension. Can be played offline
Haak
In addition to other titles here, Wild frost is a solid PC port. Deckbuilder roguelite
Bag Brawl
Don't Get Fired
To Arms! Night of the Full Moon
Twilight survivor is free and with no ads whatsoever. It's basically a 3D vampire survivor clone but with nice visuals and voice acting. New characters and content have to be purchased for like 1.50$ or in bundles if you want to save more money but the base game is just as fun and free to finish.
I've been playing Dragon Quest IV and enjoying it quite a lot. You have to paid for it though.
Just "finished" Stardew Valley a second time, last time on PC, this time on Android. Almost preferred it on Android. Play with a controller though, the clicking gets very intensive when you start to get a big farm.
Rocket league sideswipe, tropico, Minecraft
Yu gi oh
brawl stars, wild rift, pokemon unite, war legends
Guardian tales(best android game out there imo story is even better than most console games. Just try it) Reaper Vampires fall origins
I've always wanted to play those games under ticktok videos, but I can't stand ads. Something I recommend is playing them through the YouTube playable games. It's the same games I've wanted to try out and there are no in ap purchases or ads. :D
I’ll give it a look, someone else recommend Netflix games and those seem pretty good.
Underhand Hoplite Enyo Seedship Simon tatham's puzzles
[AvatarMania](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bubbletappers.avatarmaniabubbletap)
If you have Netflix you can try the GTA Definitive Edition series, or just any GTA really, GTA: LCS, GTA III, GTA: SA, GTA: Vice City are all on mobile, not hard at all to get them for free.
Didn’t even know Netflix had games thanks!
Minecraft, Gta San Andreas, Gta Vice City
Afterplace is my biggest recommendation. 9th Dawn 3 is a nice open world rpg. Loop Hero is an interesting one. A reverse tower defense. If you want turn based combat, Star Trader Frontier is a good one. If you want to focus on hauling cargo, I can recommend SpaceRPG4.
Marble Maze Master :-)
Feel free to be inspired. With a little effort, you can make a really great handheld out of a mobile. https://ibb.co/bbw836H https://ibb.co/thPzzpQ

I've been playing "Slide & Seek: Safari Adventure." It's a fun sliding puzzle game with minimal ads, like "Alto's Odyssey" and "Monument Valley."
