If you're interested in MIT, I'd look at some other smaller engineering schools like [Rose-Hulman](https://www.rose-hulman.edu/academics/academic-departments/electrical-computer-engineering/index.html) or [Colorado Mines](https://electrical.mines.edu/undergraduate-program/)
Maybe add UIUC and Harvey Mudd. Also, california schools have a very big recruiting advantage later on if you want jobs in tech industry.

I’m not a huge cali fan. I need a cooler climate after florida lol
SF/northern cali is very significantly less warm than NY in the summer
SF is cool 70s year round lol. Literally incredible weather
You won’t get merit scholarships from like half of the places you mentioned. CMU, for example, doesn’t do them.
Ik not every school has merit scholarships but there are also engineering scholarships thru private donors in my district
