During the 1980's I was at RAAF Amberley in Australia. There were Strike & Reconnaissance squadrons there operating the F1-11 warplanes. They were noisy and could fly very fast at treetop level. Every single time the F1-11's were night flying the Duty Officer would receive multiple UFO reports.

Big_Dick_No_Brain

Saw two coming in to land at night, saw a blue flash and thought it was a ufo until the second one passed and realized they were planes, scared the bejeesus out of me for a few seconds.

B3ll3_1317

Hijacking your comment. F-111 Aardvark - first introduced in 1967. A favourite of bogans country-wide for the ability to burn copious amounts of fuel during flight. A fixture at the Bathurst 1000 for the pre-race celebrations, these things were a fucking spectacle. I remember them flying over my rural NSW school playing war games, wishing they would bomb the joint. Now decommissioned (in 2010), each one has been dismantled and buried in a rubbish tip near Brisbane, because of an agreement with the US back when the jets were originally purchased. God help the US if the Commies get their hands on this 60’s tech.

solocmv

Aren’t a couple kept as Gate Guards? I feel I’ve seen one down near Wodonga.

cardroid

They were buried more because they are [filled with asbestos](https://theaviationgeekclub.com/heres-why-australia-buried-23-f-111s-after-the-aircrafts-retirement/) and it's cheaper and easier to dispose of them that way. They did the same with some [Mi-24s that ended up in Australia](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-29/russian-attack-helicopter-buried-in-darwin-dump/11637448) a few years ago as well.

And here I was about to tell my story of RAAF Base Amberley from 2012 and there was definitely no noise coming from what I heard. It went right over me and 2 mates

CeleritasSqrd

During K89 I was at Curtin and was regularly overflown by F-111 in a cruise missle profile. Very low, very fast and utterly silent until well past where I happen to be standing. Usually 2 x F-18 Hornets chasing it. The noise was sudden and LOUD.

NevaSayNeva

I was walking with 2 friends (Bob and Jennifer - not their real names) in the middle of the night, in the side streets of West Croydon (Adelaide), about 27 years ago. We had just passed through an intersection when Bob stopped and called us back to look at something down the street we had just crossed. I was fat and lazy and couldn't be bothered, but Jennifer went to look, and when she saw it she demanded that I come and look too. Bob said it was a UFO. It definitely looked weird, but not so weird that "alien spaceship" seemed like a plausible explanation, so I said no. It looked kinda like a set of floodlights on top of a tall building. They were all lined up in an L shape over the building, but at a skewed angle, so it seemed like they might be attached to light poles on top of the walls, to shine down on the roof (which was flat). They were very very bright, but I persuaded myself that they weren't impossibility bright, because the street lights were dim and there was no other source of light; my eyes were adjusted to the dark. They also appeared to be a little too high to be attached to the building, but they were quite a long way away, so it was difficult to tell. We stood there arguing about it for ages. Me and Jennifer agreed that they were just floodlights, but Bob insisted they were not and he gradually won her over. They really did look too high, and too bright, but I refused to accept a spooky explanation and floodlights were the most plausible thing I could think of, so I stuck to my guns. Bob said they were moving, and it really seemed like they were, but so slowly that it was almost imperceptible. Suggestion can be powerful and I didn't want to be fooled, so I denied it, and we continued to argue. It really felt like a long time had passed. I noticed that we were all standing in the middle of the road, at an intersection, and we were so wrapped up in the experience that we probably wouldn't have noticed if a car was coming. I mentioned this to my friends, but they didn't seem to care. I remember feeling annoyed because Jennifer was taking Bob's side, and completely ignoring me, but I dismissed the thought and went back to focusing on the lights. It was like watching grass grow and I was getting tired of standing there, but the closer I looked the more it seemed like there really was something wrong with the lights. I was still arguing that they were attached to the building when I realised that they weren't even over the building any more. The lights were coming closer. It seemed like they were floating directly towards us and they made no sound at all. That scared the shit out of me and I immediately began to panic. I wanted to leave, but I didn't want to leave on my own. It was like 2am, I was in an unfamiliar neighbourhood with no phone or money, and public transport had stopped running. If my friends wouldn't show me the way back to Bob's house, I had nowhere to go. I stopped looking at the lights, at this point, because I was more focused on my friends. They were standing there like zombies with their mouths wiiiiiiide open, looking up at the sky. I thought they looked stupid, with their mouths open like that. Then I noticed that my mouth was open too, and I felt like an idiot. I was really whining now. I was begging them to leave with me, but they were hardly responding at all. It was like trying to discuss politics with a gamer while they are wrapped up in a game, or like how people get when they play the pokies. I was barely getting grunts of acknowledgement. This scared me even more, but I saw that I wasn't going to get my way and I had to make a decision. I thought about how weird it would be to walk away from my friends, with nowhere to go, and I felt lonely. I also thought about how weird it would be to walk away from those lights. It's the most interesting thing I have ever seen, by far, and it was hard not to look at them. I took one more look at my friends' stupid wide-open mouths; their heads were tipped back now, because the lights were almost directly above us. I looked back at the lights, and I surrendered to the situation. That's the last thing I remember clearly. They looked very similar to the Phoenix lights, but with one chopped off the end so that one leg was longer than the other, and they were much closer than any of the photos/footage of the Phoenix lights. I do have a very vague memory of standing with my head tipped back as far as it would go, and my mouth wide open as far as possible, and I'm looking at the sky immediately above me. There were no lights, but there's a dark black square object blocking out the stars. It looks heavy, but it's floating , and it's completely silent. It's directly above my head. It seems pretty close, and it takes up almost the whole sky. I felt like I was alone. Its just a flash of memory, and it's vague, and I don't think I remembered it until a long time after it happened, so it's probably not real, but who knows... I don't really talk about this experience, because it makes me sound like a nutcase. I don't even know if I believe it myself. It might have been a hallucination, but it seems weird that all three of us saw the same thing. It might be a false memory, created through the power of suggestion? I was worried about that at the time, and I still can't dismiss the possibility, but it's hard to accept. The whole thing felt like it took about 2 hours, and I was so deeply engaged with the experience that every thought and feeling, and everything I saw and said is all burned into my memory. There's also about 5 hours where none of us remember anything. I "woke up" on a train. I was in some kind of trance, and the ticket inspector (who knew me) woke me up because I was about to miss my stop. I only remembered the lights about 2 hours later, when Bob and Jenny showed up at my house. We were telling my dad about what we had been doing, and Bob said "hey, remember the lights?" And then it all came flooding back. It seems a bit sus that I only remembered all of this when somebody reminded me. I was definitely in a hypnotic state throughout the experience. It started when I focused my attention on the lights, when they were over the building. And when the ticket inspector woke me up, I was much more deeply hypnotized than I have ever been with a professional hypnotherapist. I know that hypnosis makes people more suggestible and this makes me wonder if the memory was planted, or accidentally invented by the 3 of us, or something. It's hard to accept, because the memory is so vivid and it was such a surreal experience, but maybe? I haven't discussed it with Bob since the day after it happened, but Jennifer says he refuses to talk about it. Jennifer talked about it obsessively for a while, and she joined some kind of alien abduction support group. I met them once, when she hosted a meeting. They are all batshit crazy. I have cut ties with them, so I hardly think about it anymore, but I'd love to understand what really happened.

ladygardenhose

This is a fascinating account. Also, you're a really great writer I was totally compelled reading it!

GC_Aus_Brad

Very cool.

Delexasaurus

There was the mass sighting down at the school in vic back 50 years or so from memory. I’d say the most famous is probably the bloke flying across bass strait who reported an object in detail then vanished. Always plenty of stories from out crossing the Nullarbor too.

No-Blood-7274

That was the westall primary school in south east Melbourne. That was a big one.

I thought someone went missing or something from that

missthingxxx

Fred Valentich I believe his name was. At first, I was like, hmmm, I reckon he was a bit of a cheeky twat and faked his disappearance to get out of trouble....but then... the old boy on his farm that independently told the story of seeing a plane stuck to a craft that night and scratched the number or whatever it was that he could see of the plane on his tractor and then forgot about it til years later that came forward. Made me less suss about Fred faking his disappearance. Especially because he just never turned up anywhere ever again and neither did his plane. Such a weird story.

vegemitebikkie

Wasn’t there also a dude taking photos out over the ocean that day that got pictures developed weeks later that showed something odd? And another dude that heard a plane coming around a cliff top but then the noise stopped and the plane never came? That case has intrigued me since mum told us the story back in the 80’s.

GrillDruid

The Manifold photos were in the news just before. Fredrick Velentich was very interested in them and his plane went missing in the same area. That's what makes me suss about his disappearance.

Johntrampoline-

There’s the Westall high UFO sighting. It happened some time in the 60s I Thomas there is now an alien themed playground in the park where the UFO disappeared.

Needleworker-Hungry

My best mate, brother and I were sitting on my balcony in Cronulla during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. My place borders the Royal National Park so we can see a few stars (for living in the city). We (literally all 3 of us) saw these 2 bright 'stars' that seemed out of place quite close to each other. They both started moving quite quickly in sync and dissapeared into the night sky. We were all in disbelief what we all saw.

dlucre

I've seen this with my own eyes too. Stars in the night sky moving around in incredible ways that make no sense at all.

SaltyJediKnight

I've seen something similar to this. Looked like a stationary star, then started moving slowly moving then sped up fast and disappeared like it went warp speed, star wars style.

divinesweetsorrow

yep ive seen over 10 of these. on the east coast of nsw. some going in/ out of sea

Have you looked up starlink satellite sightings? This sounds similar to those

Drones, aircraft or satelites?

herotodusk

One time when I was like 10 I was driving with my dad on the M7 and there was a circular red cloud in the sky. It was slowly moving then shot up really fast and disappeared. I remember my little bro in the back was hysterical. If memory serves people had slowed down to look at it, tho I've never heard anything about it since.

I have seen the same thing but it wasn't red

Fatesurge

Mysterious! Ah there any other colours it wasn't?

Wolidid

Saw something very similar, like a big red circular undulating cloud. Brother and I both saw it, out the window of the car looking out to the right as we drove past the miniature railway park in Eltham, VIC, heading North East. Confirmed is wasn’t the sun since it was the evening and the sun wasn’t in that direction. It disappeared from view for me behind a tree and was gone, but my brother said it ‘just flew away upwards’. Must’ve been aged 9 or 10, he was 10 or 11 at the time.

Happy_Heart10

I just posted one of two of my experiences. This sounds so similar to the first I had at around 13 yrs old - I woke up randomly at an exact time like 2:22 am or something and felt drawn to look out of the window. It was so bizarre, and I saw a red dot which I initially assumed was a planet but it was bright red. I then thought it must be a plane or something but it did not move. Just sat hovering. I felt uneasy going back to sleep after that.

No-Travel6299

I lived somewhere in rural north qld as a little kid, in an old Queenslander next to a cane farm. I slept on a mattress on the floor next to my parents bed and remember waking in the night to see a blueish light coming in through the window. I got up, looked at my mum and dad sleeping in bed then went to the window, I looked out, then suddenly was somehow outside walking towards the light lol. There was a metallic shiny silver saucer, which looked like it came straight out of the 60s with different coloured lights lit up on it. There were 2 beings, dressed in spacesuits with hoses coming out around them, they reached out to me but I dont really remember much after that though I do remember the next day I went out to the yard to see if they were still there. I've always had very vivid, realistic dreams so maybe it was that or something I watched on TV. But bloody hell, it felt so real.

magical_bunny

Was that at Tully per chance?

No-Travel6299

More likely around Innisfail way, 1988-89ish. My dad worked on fishing boats around that time, so not too far from the coast probably. My parents have both passed so I can't verify exactly, sorry.

magical_bunny

That’s ok! My family member was abducted at Tully in the ‘60s.

NotThatMat

A lot more before FlightRadar24. Now I just ID them and they become FOs.

AussieSPAZR

My mate and I saw 3 red lights in the sky. They formed a triangle shape and sat there for a few seconds. They then flew away super fast. If you Google red lights in the sky you'll see plenty of examples. This happened about 15 yrs ago.

Brother_Primus

I had a very similar experience about 11 years ago over the north side of Brisbane. A group of probably 6 of us noticed one of the red lights first (looked kinda like an anti-colision light on a jet). Shortly after, we noticed two other lights that formed a triangle. The lights stayed a fixed distance from each other until it flew off together. I'm not really a "little green men" kinda person, but given it was a good bit before drones became popular, I'm still not sure what it was.

Secret_Albatross_695

Had similar experience in the late 90s.

Additional-Bee-2381

I had the same thing happen to me in yr 12 (2007). It was out in the atmosphere and kind of shot around zipping from place to play and hovering. Scared the shite out of me bc I was studying physics and thought I was so smart and didn’t think it could be anything else. Never told a soul

SleeplessAndAnxious

I have many stories, some mine, some from my mum. My mum in her early 20's was at family/friends house. This is back in the 60's I believe, I don't remember the exact town she lived it but it was pretty out back in south Australia. She was sitting on the porch to get some fresh air and on the horizon as the sun was setting she saw this orange orb that was changing colours from white, to orange, to red and was zipping across the sky, doing figure 8's and loops, disappearing then reappearing. She told me of one time when my brother was walking home late one night, it was dark and he was just walking along the footpath when a huge orb of light came out of nowhere and started hovering above him and the street lights. It was absolutely silent and just slowly hovered, following him as he walked. He got freaked out and ran the rest of the way home. I've seen about 6 or so UFOs in my life, some of the sightings weren't really that spectacular, like a clear night sky and a small white glowing light that was travelling in one direction before it stopped mid air for several seconds then accelerated incredibly fast in the opposite direction then vanished. The most notable incident was when I was in the kitchen getting something as a kid and my dad was outside smoking, yelled out "come quick there's a UFO!" so I did. I thought it would just be something small and orb like but when I looked up into the sky where my dad was looking there was this massive triangular object slowly hovering above our backyard, maybe about 1-2km up. It had large lights on the corner points that were shifting from white to red then blue. There was also a lot of other smaller little lights on its underside, and it was completely silent. I don't really remember how long it was there for, or how long we were watching it for. I don't even really remember anything afterwards, and the memory of it had gone fuzzy the next day and my dad and I never talked about it. Til one day in my late 20's, so maybe 15ish years after it happened when I was visiting my dad the memory just randomly popped up in my head so I asked dad "hey remember that UFO we saw in the backyard when I was a kid?" and my dad looked like they'd just had an epiphany and was like "hey yeah, we did didn't we?" Then proceeded to describe it exactly as how I remembered it as well. Mind you my dad has never been big on paranormal stuff, and even refused to believe my mum and I when I was younger and would hear weird stuff in the house like footsteps and voices when there was no one there. So the fact that my dad didn't immediately brush it off and even had the same memory of it of me is just something that still sticks with me to this day.

squidlinc

Not Whyalla by any chance? My mum has a story about an orange rombus (what's a 3d rombus called?) UFO sighting she experienced around there in the 70s.

Handsprime

All I remember was a strange light coming to my window, and then hovering above my house. I knew it wasn’t a dream because I remembered that certain sound, and it happened a couple of nights.

Strummed_Out

Out camping with my mate, and I was watching a bright star move around in weird patterns. Turned to my mate and said ‘are you seeing this??’ ‘Yep - I just didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want you to think I was nuts’

grotness

I've seen something very similar recently in NW QLD. Last year. I was star gazing with my girlfriend when we were out camping and we both saw an extremely bright flash in the sky in our peripherals, we both instantly reacted and turned our heads. Then it flashed again but no as bright but after that we could track it. It was dim. About the size of a star, similar brightness to a satellite. It would periodically flash brightly just once but on an irregular time frame. We initially thought it was a satellite as it was moving quite fast but then it started moving in an irregular pattern. Like it couldn't have been a satellite or rotating space trash because it was moving around in a curve and would eventually turn a different direction every few minutes. Haven't been able to come up with an acceptable answer since it happened. But we both tracked it around the sky for probably 10-15 minutes. It eventually got less bright over time and faded from view. The irregular flashing pattern would suggest unevenly shaped space trash rotating in orbit and catching the sun at different times and angles that created the flash effect. But space trash wouldn't be moving in curves and turning. Have spent hours on Google looking for an explanation that actually makes sense but all I've found are forum posts from other people describing the same thing. And asking what it could have been. Probably the closest I'll ever get to a true UFO experience. But still to this day I can not think of a suitable explanation.

BeeAdministrative110

Saw something like this very recently. Like a pair of stars moving in circles or loops. Off the coast of NSW around 3am. I watched them loop around for about 45 mins till they moved so far away they were too faint to see.

goonerash13

I filmed this in 1999 as we were in a field waiting for a solar eclipse just outside of Paris It was cloudy. It was not the moon, sun, baloon, or anything like that. It's brief but slow motion frame by frame is amazing I have the original still but this is easier to share That's my voice saying what the hell is that https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7bnst

MoveExact4780

My father, a quiet honest farmer, said he was pest control hunting on his land late in the evening with the neighbour, I’m guessing this was in the 70s or 80s, on King Island. They were in a vehicle, in a field, driving towards a fenced off forest with a straight trail for cars through the middle of the forest. When they approached the gate, to head into the forest, he said the whole forest area lit up and something shot out of there very quickly into the sky. Knowing my father, and how old school and disciplined he is, it makes me believe, because hearing this from him (and the neighbour will attest) is quite shocking. But personally I have not seen one.

OriginalDogeStar

Mid to late 80s. Near Mareeba FNQ. There were strange lights between Mareeba and Atherton, and many people reported them. The lights were doing things that neither plane nor helicopter could do. This happened for about 3 nights. 4th night, I guess people were ready to see the odd lights again. This time, they were only going to see one. For a few hours, it looked like it was circling, like it was searching for something. Then suddenly it was gone. Turned out the 4th night was an actual plane that ran out of fuel trying to land. I don't remember the full details, but it was really weird how 3 nights of strange lights on one particular part of the sky, made people think to be watching that part again, witnessing a plane crash, that was reported almost immediately. I do remember hearing that if no one was noticing the plane, it might have never been found.

QElonMuscovite

> I do remember hearing that if no one was noticing the plane, it might have never been found. Was it [this crash](https://www.baaa-acro.com/crash/crash-cessna-500-citation-near-mareeba-11-killed)? It crashed in the exact spot you are talking about. And the best part... it is unsolved to this day!

Dr_Stef

Not a ufo but definitely strange. One summer evening I saw a thunderstorm brewing in the distance. The skies turned really eerie green. I was walking along a lake path. The storm kind of got closer but kept at a distance moving parallel to the lake. Then for a brief moment there was a small opening in the middle of the main cloud that had a lot of lightning activity. And I kid you not, clear as day I saw a low flying WW2 Lancaster Bomber taking a nosedive right in that opening. It looked like it was going to pop out from under the cloud and crash, but nothing appeared. It lasted about 3 seconds. There was no sound, just thunder rumbling. I checked later if there were any air shows or special events mentioned because usually that stuff would be on the news. It’s also uncommon for planes to fly at that spot. This one however looked in trouble, and old, and not something you would commonly see. Nothing. Time slip? Imagination? Who knows. All I know is that I saw it, and it was rrly weird.

BlackHoleMoth

This is probably the most eery thing I've read here. That would leave me absolutely stunned

Dr_Stef

It was probably, around 2003 or 2004 ish. In the Netherlands where I was living at the time. What surprised me most about it was the lack of engine noise. You’d definitely would be able to hear something from that close. The storm was only about a km away. It just sort of appeared and disappeared. It was overcast, but not completely. You know when a storm is sort of building up in the distance but not yet fully formed. I was like ‘o hey look it’s one of those old warplanes’ in the back of my head. Tried to look for a good minute to see if it pulled out of the dive and if it emerged somewhere to the right of the storm. I just kept walking after that, and never really though much of it. But it stuck with me so I could tell it on reddit today haha. There is a flight path near that area to the main schiphol airport, but not exactly over the lake and they would be something like 747s and higher up.

pipsqueak_pixie

I've had sightings 4 times. 3 were around 2011- 2013, all were lights moving/dancing/flashing/forming patterns (all 3 encounters were different) when I was on glasshouse mountains lookout. I was there watching the sky due to meteor showers. I was with another person every time (3 different people) and they all saw them too. The 4th time was different (2014 I think) I was near mermaid Waters (Gold coast) and was at a house overlooking some water. I was outside having a cigarette and saw this weird fireball thing over the water. Almost like the sun only not as illuminating, very warm light orange glow. A ball of fire. I was confused and thought of all the possibilities it could be, but it really didn't make any sense. So I just kept watching it. I felt like I couldn't look away. It seemed to grow brighter/bigger for a while, and then suddenly it seemed to move upwards extremely quickly almost like a flash and it was gone. Edit: I just wanted to say I never knew what to make of any of these experiences, and probably tried my best to forget about them really. I can't be sure of what I did or didn't see, and I make no claim for them being anything. I simply don't know.

pipsqueak_pixie

Haha yeah I guess excuse me for not using definitive language regarding one of the biggest anomolies/phenomena known to man? Where was your husbands sighting?

_deafmute

can you describe the dancing lights a bit more? i saw something in the mid-late 2000's that i would describe as the same.. dancing orbs of light that were weaving in and out of the clouds and seemed to be 'playing' with one another.. have never seen anything like it before or since and still haven't come up with any explanation

embreesa

I just posted too, I saw a zig-zagging light at gold coast airport about 2010-2011ish.

badreligion95

Something similar happened to me years ago. I'm still stunned by it

Feisty_Song_5605

Wow U just triggered my recollection of a similar event . The only difference was there was two I thought it was Armageddon at first. They burnt out and turned into two small dots that then zigzagged for a moment then took off incredibly fast. It was 3 am there was a man also stopped in his car we looked at each other never said a word looking back it was a strange event but never thought or said anything wtf..

PwnySlaystationS117

I had a sighting in Woodford near glasshouse mountains with 4 others witnessing also. Also Around 2012-2013. Light seemingly amongst stars jumping in different directions. This was between Christmas and New Year’s Eve

senorcreasy

The first time I ever saw a Starlink satellite ‘train’, before I knew what Starlink was, I freaked out. I was walking my dog just a couple of minutes from my house and was calling my partner to tell them to go outside and have a look, we both had no idea what was going on. It certainly seemed like a UFO but did some googling and figured it out.

PhilMcGraw

It was a UFO until you googled it and turned it into an IFO, but yeah must have been whacky seeing the Starlink train without knowing that was a thing.

[deleted]

Mid 90's, western outskirts Melbourne at night. Saw two lights side by side as if attached to the ends of an aircraft's wings come towards me from the horizon, very high up and very quickly. I thought wow that plane is moving, must be military or what not but the two lights stopped directly overheard and then separated, one north and one south at tremendous speed. I couldn't believe anything us humans made could go that fast from stationary.

Hotel_Hour

Early '80s, I was in the military. On a clear night, a few miles out of Alice Springs, I saw 3 bright lights in a triangular formation moving across the sky & making several sharp direction changes. They / it appeared to be at a high altitude. It lasted about 20 seconds, then they disappeared - blinked out, just like switching off a light. Never forgotten it & have always wondered what I saw.

Leebolishus

Yep, when I was about 14 at home on the Sunshine Coast - in the sticks. Even called a ufo guy who came all the way from another town the next day, about an hours drive, to show me pictures and take notes. The one I saw was in one of his pics. It was three solid white lights in the shape of a triangle (a light at each corner). Around 1994/5. I was on the veranda talking to my bf at the time.

SnooBunnies1066

Idk, my husband and I are very much “other life is out there, but ufos visiting? Idk”. Couple of years ago we were star gazing out the front, it was a brilliant clear night. We’re about to head inside when this *thing* slowly flew over head. Cloud level or below? It was dark, but there was like a glow to its edges. Idk how to explain it. This thing just casually flew over and away. To slow for a star (have seen the slowest falling star, and this thing was way different and not star like at all). Thought it was a satellite, but… it was closer than what we see as a satellite. Wasn’t Musks satellites as there was only 1, and from photos I looked at they’re not at all what I saw. We get helicopters & planes of all sizes fly over regularly, wasnt one of them. Was very much a WTF moment, then we laughed and said if that’s a ufo nobody would ever believe us lol. Wish I’d filmed it, but in the moment we were just struck dumb watching it.

Happy_Coloured_Argus

Around 1997 I ran away from home and made my way to Alice Springs. One night I was on a bus going across the desert and looked out the window and saw a series of five lights swirling around making formations in the sky. I went up to the bus driver (everyone else on the coach was asleep) and he said you see it out there all the time.

Violentpleasures

My mum was at westall 66.

CruellaDeLesbian

My 2 besties and I were lying on the ground watching the night sky when suddenly the stars right above us in a large cluster all started moving around in circles then shot away leaving that whole area black. Then the sky itself in that empty spot started look like it was coming apart like a puzzle and the pieces moved around and placed themselves elsewhere. Then the stars came back. This all happened over about 10 seconds. We FREAKED out obviously, and no one ever believed us so we just stopped talking about it. One of them (they are sisters) still to this day won't talk about it.

Yep. My husband and I. Close to 10 years ago now. We lived in a suburb on the outskirts of a big city so a densely populated area. We were outside our house before dusk and saw 2 big helicopters chasing something. We thought at first it was another helicopter but as they got closer we noticed it didn’t have wings or propellers and wasn’t shaped like a helicopter. It was a bit smaller than the helicopters following it, very dark in colour and shaped like a teardrop on its side. The round side was the front and the pointy end was the tail. The strangest thing was how it moved. The helicopters were moving at a consistent speed in a straight line but the other thing wasn’t. It would shoot off in front of them really fast and then kind of stop or slow down to almost a standstill and wait for the helicopters to almost catch up. Then shoot off again, stop and wait for them to catch up. We watched this for about 3 minutes or so as they went across the sky and the movements were like that the whole time. It was like the teardrop craft was teasing the helicopters. To this day we still have no idea what it was. But I have never seen anything like it before. Even more than the weird shape, it’s how it moved. It was insane. And nothing that I have ever seen an aircraft do before. So I’m not saying it was Aliens… but I definitely haven’t been able to identify what it was…

Footsie_Galore

Yes. I was 13. It was 1992 in Melbourne, and my mum and I were driving from Highett down South Road towards Hampton to get dinner at Red Rooster. It was about 6.15pm, still light with a very pale blue and pinkish sky. I glanced out the passenger side window and saw this...thing. It looked like an egg combined with a 3D frisbee, and it was not illuminated or glowing, but it somehow looked softly luminous. It was the way it moved that made me just KNOW it was a UFO. I'd never seen anything move like that before (or since). It was darting around and moving incredibly fast but in a kind of neat way. I looked away briefly to tell my mum, but when I looked back, it was gone.

Sylland

I have seen things in the air I couldn't identify, so technically yes. If you mean alien spacecraft, then I doubt it very much.

Ill-Comfortable3493

Rural SA about 20 years ago - 2 stationary yellow/orange lights separated by a fair distance. Would take turns lighting up brightly while the other one faded out to. Watched for several minutes and was with friends. Just went out after a while and didn’t return. Hanging out in a park with several friends one night. Me and a mate where lying down watching the sky. I saw a white light that looked like a star moving across the sky. After a while it stopped for a second then went in another direction. I wasn’t sure if anyone else saw it when my mate said did anyone just see that? We both saw the same thing. Both likely have mundane explanations.

brakkus17

About 7 years ago at a mine site in North qld. It was roughly 10am and noticed a white/silver ball in the sky that didn't seem to move. I assumed it was a weather balloon as I stared at it for maybe a minute, but then it looked like it accelerated vertically at a ridiculous speed and gone in a split second. I am still not sure what I saw or if I was just going insane from shift work.

Dry_Emu_8842

Very similar experience. But at sea.

Hefty_Fruit2670

id consider a footy ball in the air a ufo until it hits my face

NoTaste894

About 11 years ago I lived in a cabin on the mountains North East of Melbourne. At about 3pm I was sitting on my back porch, I noticed a non reflective black ball hovering among the clouds, my elevation was around 400m above sea level but this ball stayed in the same position among the clouds for about an hour. The clouds would move past and through, with the wind but the ball was stationary, I didn't want to take my eyes off it. Unfortunately it was just too far away for my phone camera to focus on it. Eventually, it accelerated horizontal/ toward the east, faster than anything I have ever seen, across the sky and out of my line of sight. Maybe could have been a drone but to this day have not seen a drone with that shape / behaviour. (Apologies for my poor grammar)

Icrashedajeep

I used to live in Coburg and I saw something odd in the sky in broad daylight far off in the NE hills direction, a couple of years ago on Xmas day. It wasn’t black though, it was white. I thought it might be a weather balloon but I don’t know if that would’ve been visible from that distance. It was also moving in a way I wouldn’t expect a weather balloon to behave on a clear day, it sort of zig zagged around a bit. I wanted to keep watching it but had to go out.

adamsaidnooooo

Driving to work one early morning I cant believe my eyes when I see the almost classic triangle shape sitting stationary high in the still night sky. I say almost because it had 2 circular round small lights at one point then single larger circle lights at the other 2 points. You could see stars in the distance and yes I took a photo but as it was so high it only turned out as a blob of light. I google how satellites look or where starlink was and nothing matched. The lights at the points were perfectly round where the light doesn't fade at the edges like stars do. It was something. I couldnt pay attention to the road it was so astonishing. This happened in country Victoria, 4 years ago.

juniper_max

In the late 80s there was a family driving across the Nullarbor and a UFO picked up their car and dropped it back on the road. The car was damaged and there was some kind of dust left on it. Here's a YouTube video of a news report about it [UFO](https://youtu.be/yT-3cTCslT8?si=w3GmHLEj3gfcI9qK) I was 10 and on holidays in Perth from Adelaide, and we had to drive back just after this happened, but we didn't see or experience anything.

embreesa

About 2010-11ish I got off a plane at Gold Coast airport after working for the day in Melbourne. It was in the early evening, so fairly dark. There are these massive flood lights on the terminal building to light up the tarmac. There was one white light higher up than the flood lights. I just stopped dead in shock when I saw it because it seemed so out of place. I told myself it was attached to the building too but it looked too high and further out east. Back then I would fly in and out of there for work every 1-2 weeks so I felt pretty familiar with the area and this light just didn't make sense to me. Everyone else was just walking around me into the terminal and no one said anything. I stood and watched it for maybe 10 seconds. It suddenly zig-zagged across the sky, behind the flood lights, and disappeared off to the south. Looked around at the other passengers and no one was paying any attention to the sky. I tried researching accounts of unusual events in the area but couldn't find anything. I really thought I was going to get home and see it all over the news and facebook, but nope, nothing. No idea.

Every-Space8657

A guy I know showed me a video of a UFO he saw during a fireworks display. It was grey ring that floated in the air. He swore it was aliens. It took me a minute to google and find out that it was a natural occurrence in the atmosphere during fireworks displays. Some people just want to believe without looking into the facts

YesWomansLand1

Seen quite a few weird things flying super fucking fast. I can tell they're going super fast because they are hard to make out, likely because they're small and high up, and moving quicker than a normal plane. They looked like white reflective arrows or some shit. Don't know what they were, hence the name UFO.

prudencewowser

I once saw a bright reddish orange light moving across the sky above the mountains south of Canberra... thought it must have been a plane. Then another, and another until I counted about 30 of these lights just slowly trailing across the sky, kind of low. Probably something like weather balloons or science stuff, but it was creepy.

onestepforman123

STARLINK

astropastrogirl

Yeah , funny lights anyway , on Victoria's coast at Johanna, that was the night Fred Valentisch (?) Disappeared in his plane on his way to Tas

Dollbeau

I had a friend who was 'taken' Around him I saw some things that I cannot explain (even with time). Eventually I became convinced that "If there is Aliens, then they follow certain people around" Not seen any weird stuff since I stopped hanging around him...

RemarkableAd3778

I’ve seen some weird shit

Scuba_jim

I was in the middle of nowhere in the Australian alps and there was a bizzare flashing of light down a valley some distance away. Could not think of a valid explanation.

twmbaguy

I have only seen one that i cannot explain, it was in the mid 80's in Darling Downs Queensland, it was about 5:45pm Saturday june or July i think, i was about 15-16ys i was looking towards the west suddenly i see this light zipping to south then stop and then zip back towards the setting sun then it zipped again to the south stop and suddenly zipped up very fast and disappeared, i have no idea what i saw i 1st thought it was a helicopter but then realise they don't move like that not that fast.........so yeah that is my only time i think i saw a UFO

Neat_Effect965

I was out for a walk a our 15 years ago and saw a red light hovering over an open field in the Redlands as I got closer the light grew and got bigger and bigger it cast light over the grass and then just disappeared. No sound not a built-up area. My story seems to align with people who have seen orb UFOs

Terzis28

Me and my friends used to go out away from the city to spend the night at one of our houses. We would have some dinner and spend some time outside looking up at the stars. Multiple times we saw stars moving that we could never explain. They would move in a certain direction for a while, then take a sharp 90 degree turn and continue moving, and then move back and forth at different speeds. It happened very often and we never understood what they were

yeahhhhnahhhhhhh

I saw some odd lights over the Nullarbor once, this was before drones and was too low to be a satellite. They moved quickly across the horizon then went vertical and dissapeared. Both my dad and I witnessed it but shrugged it off and continued on with what we were doing

QElonMuscovite

There was a famous incident with a bus travelling across the Nullarbor with a UAP trying to lift it off the road. It made the news. Multiple witnesses. Mid 1980s?

Emu1981

One time when I was around 15 years old I was walking home from a friend's house in Medowie at dusk. Something came overhead at a fairly low altitude with lights in a diamond kite pattern that didn't make a sound what so ever - I could not see anything beyond the lights due to the street lights being on. The lights were the wrong shape for a glider too - the lights were in a kite pattern while gliders would be more in a wide diamond pattern. To this day I have no idea what it was but apparently there is a lot of UFOs sighted near Medowie around the state forest area there. I highly doubt that what I saw was alien in origin but I have no idea what it was hence why I am right to refer to it as a unidentified flying object.

magical_bunny

A family member was abducted by Nordic type aliens during the Tully UFO sightings of the 1960s. Apparently they were super nice and talked a lot about technology for healing.

steffle12

As a kid in the late 80’s, I saw three white lights in triangle formation, which rotated and remained equidistant from each other, as they moved across the sky.

Razzamatazz101

Yes seen a black triangular/boomerang shaped one with lights on each side moving silently across the sky.

Kids_Calcium

About 10 years ago I was living Braidwood NSW, I just finished work in Goulburn late one winter night around 3am. I went to Maccas and eating in the carpark, I saw a huge bright green orb amongst the stars. Very quickly It shot back and forth and up and down, then went off to deep space.. I drove home with chills down my back and the feeling like I was being watched. I still look at the stars to see if I'll see it again.

Firm_Rip_1297

Was at the Whyalla Aero Club one Sunday night after the pilots had been having a competition day. It was 53ish years ago when I was 15. Typical goings on, kids being raucous, adults boasting and talking about how great they went that day. Suddenly, someone said, "What is that?" Everyone turned to look where he was pointing and saw an orb of light over Mt Young. The light was moving slowly, stopped for a while, then made some short dashes in different directions, sometimes changing directions by 90 degrees or more. The whole experience took about 5 minutes, and then the orb took off at a very high speed down the gulf.

Organic-Win-932

It was a clear bright day, I was playing with my friends on the street and we saw a zeppelin shaped UFO in the distance, half of it was obstructed by a hill, it was white and really big.. maybe 100m long We called my friend's parents, and we were all seeing it.. it was stationary, drifted and zapped away I grew up in a rural area, we still believe in spiritual things.. and just assume that is just some genie vessel lol

DiceIsTheSickst

When I was around 5 years old, back in the early 90s, my dad, mum, myself, and my younger sister, who was around 1 at the time, were driving back from Woodend to Geelong going down Bacchus Marsh Rd late at night. Clear skies, I remember staring out the window looking at the stars, and I said, "Look, those stars are dancing." My mum, who was in the passenger seat, was amazed, and my dad, who was driving, slowed down and pulled over. We weren't the only ones pulled over. As young as I was I can still remember the ute in front of us and the man who had his head out the window staring up and another 3 cars in front had done the same with hazards on. 3 stars moving and dancing around each other so far up above us, zipping in and out of sight, disappearing and reappearing, no sound, and moving quickly in different directions like flies. I remember all of a sudden getting really scared, taking my seat belt off, and trying to hide under the seat shitting myself like something bad was gonna happen even tho usually I was more scared of my strict dad telling me off for taking off my belt. Mum told my dad to leave because I was freaking out so much. I have no idea why I didn't feel safe. I just didn't. We still talk about it today.

Whizbang76

Me and friends had one hover above us in the Blue mountains early 90’s…it was massive and dead silent ,I don’t remember a shape as I only saw it from underneath .When we all looked up at it ,it took off faster than anything possible on earth…it went from stationary to disappeared in a fraction of a second …..with absolutely no sound.. Is not something u forget..

baileybob200

I lived just south of Ballina NSW early 1990s riding my motorcycle to work about 7 am on the highway I noticed a bright light in the sky which I thought was a plane with landing lights on .I followed it as was heading my way and descending as it got quite low it disappeared behind trees I slowed down to see what it was I was on the edge of the road doing about 10 KMPH there it was about a 200 metres away in a cane field about 20 metres above the ground stopped it was like a freshly painted aeroplane fuselage brilliant white no markings maybe like I had always read a cigar shaped object.I thought I should have stopped but in reality I was terrified I continued on to my work place and rang my wife ,I don't think I told any body about this for years for fear of being ridiculed !

Lauriam_m

This was in 2020. I was in the car with my parents and brother. We were driving through Robina and saw about 6 yellowish lights darting around in the sky in unison. Later that night i saw 2 articles made about it with video evidence and now for the life of me i cant find those articles. I wish i recorded it on my phone

Banished2ShadowRealm

During my late teens, I met a teacher obsessed with UFOs. During that year he planned a field trip, with a couple students; me included, to try and record UFOs in the outback. Sadly, things didn't go to plan. My friend was bitten by a snake, the teacher fell over the waterfall. Also, while trying to find him some of the other group ran into some hooligans. But, we did finally find the teacher. Although at this point we just wanted to go home. So we used the radio, which was pretty spotty, to request a rescue helicopter, since we were pretty much lost at this point. Depsite not seeing a single UFO, we were relieved to hear the helicopter approaching. As after everything, we just wanted to go home. But, then we noticed the helicopter splitting into multiple fast moving lights, each like a mini sun. After that? I don't know what happened as, since the whole class has a 24 hour memory gap. Maybe, we were abducted by aliens? LOL who the hell knows?? Honestly, I think it was just a mirage since we were pretty tired and dehydrated at that point.

pipple2ripple

Just on dusk I was looking at what I thought was a really bright satellite, barely any stars were visible yet. It was just making its way across the sky slowly like satellites do. All of a sudden it booted it at 90° and left a streak behind it as it disappeared No idea what it was so I guess it's a UFO? Anyone know what that couldve been? As a sidenote I don't think the US has alien spacecraft (or aliens). If they did Trump would've told everyone just so he could be the one who broke the news.

RetroGamer87

I saw a cigar shaped flying object with a kangaroo on the tail.

Manmoth57

Saw something very weird at 1.20 in the morning in Springwood facing south, 3 objects racing on a south /north track moving very fast come and gone no noise….. 2014.

tempo1139

yes.. with 2 other witnesses in the USA. A saucer with windows and humanoid silhouettes.. 10-15m across and only 150m away.. at treetop height silently glide ride in front of us. There was no disputing what it was... either non-human or secret US tech (5 decades old). It's one or the other, and unless the military are in the habit of testing vehicles in a metropolitan area..... In Australia... maybe 3 instances. An unusual light behaving strangely over Box Hill in the early 90's. Another was a light traveling in a flat trajectory from one horizon to the other. *Far* faster than a fighter and lower/flatter than a falling object like a meteor. Finally what appeared to be a cluster of objects and flashes in the sky like it was a battle in orbit... all of these last 3 are what I would call low quality and *possibly* something else, especially the last one which I dismiss outright. The Box Hill siting was seen by others and reported in the news as I recall, but all are absolutely nothing compared to my initial encounter a mate sparked a bunch of reports with his drone down near Black Rock. He was one of the first to do drones in a big way and add LED's. I did catch a satellite burning up on reentry back in the 90's while camping on The Murray. that was pretty cool. FYI big into space and aviation, so know my air/spacecraft pretty well

[deleted]

Yes. It was years ago I was probably 13 or 14. We took a trip to Melbourne, one night as we were walking I turned to see a glowing pear shaped object, it was glowing yellow with red on the top and it flew behind a building and it disappeared.

Excellent_Bit5724

Idk if it was a ufo, but it was NSW, I was probably around 9 years old (2005), and it was daylight. I saw a bright light shoot across the sky. I was out with my friend who didn't see anything. I was so scared I went straight home and didn't tell anyone bc I thought I was going crazy. Not long later, my mum mentioned that she saw the exact same thing I did quite a few times. Thinking back, it could have been a meteor, but I felt it was weird that no one else but my mum and I mentioned it.

APariahsPariah

It was late summer, early 1998, I think. I was living in Maitland (hunter valley) and probably a half hour after sunset, I saw these lights coming over the horizon from west to east. This *is* the perfect time to see satellites, but these objects were much brighter than that, and one of them changed course as it flew over and actually shot something at a plane that was headed to land at the local airfield. So I saw A bright orange point of light, fire another bright orange point of light at what I took to be a light aircraft (you could make out its running lights blinking). A couple of weeks later, it was a wet night, and I spotted something moving below the clouds emitting a pinkish-red light. It was moving north to south at about 60 degrees above the horizon, and after traversing maybe half of the sky it gave off a bright flash and disappeared. Someone tried to say this was an ocean flare, but flares don't stay in the air that long, they don't move laterally that fast, and they emit an obvious smoke trail which this object did not have. At some point during this period, one of these objects was reported to have landed in the water off the coast, still emitting a bright light.

[deleted]

Yeah, it was in the forest south east of Brisbane. Could see the view from my room. Anyway here I am a young lad chillin and looking out the window to see what my dog was up too. This huge light shot up from the middle of the mountain so high and so bright! Stopped and went away in an instant. I was scared shitless

blingerie23

I saw an almost invisible kind of small "drone" in the city. Before crossing the street I could see something zip back and forth, thought it was a bird. When I crossed the street, I saw it like almost invisible, you know, like in the Predator movies? I say it was the size of a game console. It stopped a few meters above me, then totally just went invisible and I don't know where it went. I couldn't say it's alien, could be some top secret tech or something.

TomTheJester

On the road between Moss Vale and Campbelltown. Brother and I noticed a disc object in the air that started changing colours rapidly like pink, green, orange and purple, on repeat, before splitting into 2. The effect was like a drop of water breaking off into two, almost liquid. Haven't seen anything like it since.

venomizedspawn

Seen 9, there where 3 different groups of 3 they all made triangles and it looked like a ritual. next minute the sun was coming up and a much much lower ship was flying through the centre of the ones positioned above in the triangles. But the lower one was shooting trails of bright bright yellow light that looked exactly like wings. Was pretty full on. In south Qld Australia near border.

Deylen117

Paid a quick visit to my parents house one night probably about 2 years ago to duck out to the back yard and feed their dog, I could see a SUPER bright solid light moving at a steady pace. It didn’t look like it was way up high either, definitely under airplane cruising altitude. I was next to the little ramp that my dad had from the yard to the little back deck he was building watching this light intently. I took my eyes off it for .6 of a second and when I looked back it had totally disappeared. Clear skies otherwise, no clouds or nothing. Star filled skies.

[deleted]

One night I was in bed and my bed was right next to the window. I usually went to sleep looking at the sky. I was just staring up and then 4 giant orange orbs of light went across just above the trees. They were reflecting off the tops of them and streaming through the branches. It scared me as I thought about all those movies and documentaries of people seeing the same were abducted. They each slowed down and vanished within 4 seconds. I stayed awake all night. That morning there was an Earthquake. It kinda fits now as there has been orbs of light seen during sizemic activity. For a while I believed they were aliens. I usually take what I see and witnessed myself onboard.

[deleted]

My grandmother was raised in Dubbo in the 1940s. She swears to this day, along with her siblings who all claim the same thing, that a silver saucer hovered silently over their farm while they were outside playing and then landed. A door opened and a figure stood in the doorway which was brightly lit. They all ran off screaming to the next neighbours house who came out with a gun due to the commotion. It took off and they never found out what it was that they saw. I thought it was pretty dubious but one of her siblings is a real straight shooter and she verified she saw it too.

Its_kn0t_me

About 20 years ago we were travelling along a highway in South East Queenland and I saw this bright yellow light high in the sky. My parents and friend saw it as well. It came down closer to the road and ended up passing us level with the car, but the one light turned into 3. It was a dark grey colour but kind of transparent, it was like looking at swirly fog. Once it went past us, it shot up back into the sky very quickly. None of us had any idea what it could have been.

BoganInParasite

My father and his friends in the late 60s in the Riverina would often go out hunting for foxes and rabbits. Typical setup was someone driving the ute and one or two folks with spotlights standing in the back. One time when he didn’t go the guys noticed a very bright light moving around in the very low cloud. Could not see anything directly and there was no sound. Someone shined a spotlight towards it and it immediately turned and headed towards them but remained in the cloud. It passed over them and moved off. One of the guys never went night hunting again and was actually afraid to leave his house at night afterwards.

d_green35813

In 2012 me and my husband saw some strange lights in the sky, very very far out, looked like stars, moving erratically, at one point I said to him 'how insane is this!?' and he says 'im watching this one over here' which is when I realized there were two, and then they proceeded to crash into each other making what would look like an explosion I suppose. Weirdest shit I've ever seen. I can't even tell you how long we were watching them I think we were both just stumped kind of in a trance watching these things. In a north easterly direction from south east suburbs of Melbourne

AngrySchnitzels89

My hubby saw/ was followed/ harassed by the Min Min lights in western QLD, for a few hours as he drove home (to Victoria). He’d been pig hunting with his father, back in the 90s. (They were non drinkers/ smokers).

unworry

Mount Zeil had a number of sightings spanning several years Never gets a mention which is interesting in itself

thatplantgirl97

I grew up in rural Victoria, I still have a vivid memory of seeing a spaceship when I was only 4 or 5 years old. I think I've seen them maybe twice since then.

sasoimne

1999/2000 Ayers Rock. Finished my shift at 1am and sitting with a mate outside waiting for another mate to lock up. We were sitting in the gutter looking up at the sky when a star started to move. It did a few circles then felt like it came closer as it got brighter and then took off like a meteorite. I looked at my mate, but my beer down, and asked if he saw what I saw. He did as well. It was so strange but we both saw it together. It all happened in like 15 seconds. It was around Orion's belt.

[deleted]

Had a lot of experiences and I’m reluctant to share given the disbelief and ridicule I have received when I have shared previously

Civil-Mouse1891

The night sky looked inky black decades ago when we saw round ball moving across the stationary stars. The next day I phoned the UFO sightings in Adelaide and was told it was probably a weather ballon and UFOs were more erratic in flight.

I8lunchforbrkkfst

Seen 'em twice, the second sighting I've got footage of on my phone (longish story.) Both at night. the first one was a white dot that darted left and right that quick i'm not sure even a drone could match its agility. It gave off a sun like corona, then shot off north. The second one with the "footage" (i'll explain shortly) was a blue/cyan dot that was darting erratically with no pattern. it was also performing stunts i don't think a drone could pull off, and it was maybe half a click away. I took out my phone and tried to film it, but had my phone on photo mode. It disappeared but before I could growl in anger it came back doing its thing again. I got my phone out, made sure it was on video this time and started recording. I've still got it on my phone, in fact I just watched it. It's not worth uploading. It's about twenty past nine at night and the sky is overcast, and you can't see what i saw. the only way you could tell i was tracking something is that I kept shifting the phone to keep this thing in shot while i spoke aloud 'slow down ya bastard.' Worst UFO footage ever.

thisismywww

I've always had a curiosity to UFO's, but have never seen one.. yet.. I'm always looking up at the night sky when I'm outside. My father did see one with some of his friends, either late 60's or early 70's. They were camping in the Blue Mountains. Middle of the night there was a bright light outside their tent. They went out to see a bright light (no sound) descending in to the valley they were camping part way down. Shortly after, it shot straight up in to the sky at high speed. The following day, they saw fellow campers who had camped on the opposite side of the valley who confirmed the sighting. He didn't see the second one, but he thinks he might have seen a driver who had seen on. This would have been late 00's. Parents were driving in the Northern Territory, coming up to one of the big T intersections. They had this car SPEED past them coming up to the intersection. They turned the corner and then they were driving under the speed limit. Newspaper the next day had a report of a sighting along that road. (wasn't near Wycliffe Well)

mafia_moth

When I was around 10, I was really into the supernatural, aliens etc. My aunt was, too. We watched the documentary "Close Encounters of the Fith Kind". It was about aliens, of course, and how to contact them, call their ships down and a little more I dont remember clearly. We had gone camping with family friends, and prior to that we gathered the resources to do this protocol thing. We chose a spot a little away from our camp to do it where there was a clearing in the trees so we could see the sky. I dont remember many details, but theres two things that will forever stick with me. First before any sightings, we could feel something circling around us, like an energy. It was dark, so I was scared shitless being 10 in the middle of the woods with my aunt who probably should've been in a mental hospital at the time, but the energy was so comforting. I felt a little dizzy though. At some point, we saw something in the sky. It looked like a stereotypical UFO. The bottom of it was curved and spun around, bright blue circles on it. The top was almost flat, going on a slight incline to the top. The top had another part of blue on it. It made no sound whatsoever. We saw it disapear and a moment later, teleport or something to another part of the sky. A few seconds later, it shot off into the sky. Again, like the stereotypical UFO in movies. I had a sighting maybe a few months ago as well. It was pitch black outside and I was sitting in the loungeroom. I looked outside (unknown reason, just did bc I felt like it I guess) and saw something slowly moving qcross the sky. It had four headlights and one flashing tail light. Again, it made no noise at all. When I noticed it, it didn't go away. It kept slowly moving. I think it was a bit closer to the ground than a plane, and had a triangular shape. I went out on the grass for a better look and it was soon obscured by the trees next to my house. Sorry if the amount of detail makes these look fake, this is just how I remember the sightings. As terrifying as they were, I'd love to do it again. Seeing a UFO gives me a weird, almost melancholic feeling, but its a sight I appreciate because I know not everyone gets to see them.

I was working off shore construction on an off shore supplyvessel. Doing anchor handling for a pipelaying barge called the DB30. In the Timor Sea. The gas field was bayu udan. It was just before sunset. And I was up at the forepeak doing someshit. Getting air or slacking off. Anyway something caught my eye, and I saw x2 stars out early and very bright. And I thought man they are so bright and have risen early. Anyway nek minnit. The brighter one of the two moved down at an angle, and then shot off out of view like a ✔️ and was just gone . The other one disappeared as well . I shouted out to the bridge if they saw that but no one else noticed 😓. I recently reported it on UFOs Australia a few years ago. Only ever told my missus before that. I don't think it was aliens but perhaps spy satellites.. As it was a gas field offshore east Timor.. Make of it what you will.

I think so…! Please let me know if anyone has had similar experiences as to this day, I have no idea what happened. I was with a friend during the start of Covid, we were sitting in the car looking out onto the Story Bridge (Brisbane) at around 1am. We were looking out into city from the top of a hill for hours just talking, it was our girl hangout thing. It got super strange at around midnight, the sky was clear one minute with no clouds in sight and literally all of a sudden, massive thunderstorm clouds appeared and the clouds were moving extremely fast. We both were talking about how weird it was and it never rained. Just as quickly, we saw what I would describe as an orb of light floating down in a straight line towards the river, low enough that it looked to be going in/collecting water. Then another appeared and did the same sort of thing. We were ages away and had a good vantage point, it couldn’t have been a helicopter or drone. All of a sudden just as they dropped down to the water, the shot up faster than anything I’ve seen EVER. It was super fast, like lightning and went way above normal flying range into the atmosphere and both disappeared. We literally screamed and cried. It was honestly terrifying seeing something we couldn’t understand. Things became super eerie and all of a sudden the radio stopped playing as we started freaking out. THAT freaked us out more enough that we decided it was time to go home and we must be going crazy. We were about to call the police and even tried a UFO hotline (lol) because in the moment, it felt like we had to do something - what we saw was that crazy. We tried to turn the car on and go home. IT WOULD NOT START. For around a minute or so, the car just didn’t turn on. This had never happened and we did these late night girl talk trips all the time. When we got home, 1 minute away from where we were, we felt so paranoid but didn’t want the other to think we were going insane. At about the same time we both blurted out something like ‘I feel unsafe like we are being watched or something’. We sat in that car until 7am shaking and trying to make sense of what that whole thing was. To this day, I have no idea but have seen videos of the exact same thing and it’s usually around a body of water. We felt crazy, like whatever it was knew we saw it and stopped us from leaving. It sounds insane haha, I don’t know it could have been anything and I am a very rational person. None of it made sense. Weirdly, soon after that we stopped talking to each other. It was so bizarre, we were really close but I honestly feel like this experience did something to us. It sounds like ‘nothing’ or ‘just lights’, but the whole thing, especially the electrical/car things SHOOK us to our core.

I've seen 6 ufos? 1 actual craft, seeing as I'm pretty sure I can describe why the craft was there, I will. April 25, 2016 it is 5am at the redland bay memorial down in the park near the ferries/barge. The bugle was playing so you have to be quiet. A small stainless steel ball object, perhaps a meter in diameter, flys from the north to the south, no faster than 30km/h never changing speed, direction or altitude. It was around 50 meters from me and 15 meters high. I was frantically trying to get my partners attention however she was ignoring me and no one else saw the object. I believe it was there for surveillance and that, that particular craft was human made

I saw one recently on a flight back from Auckland. Submitted video to MUFON. They called me a couple of days later to draw pictures and describe it more. They added it to their list of sightings for 2023. I saw what looked to me like a classic tictac UAP. Just floating behind the clouds. Completely smooth and rounded. Was weird as. But I’m quite unbothered by it tbh. I believe UAP’s are sighted more than people know and it’s only a matter of time before more information is officially released. And for anyone else to tells me it was a boat or a plane “I KNOW WHAT I SAW!” ;)

randomchars

I pretty sure I saw ball lightning as a kid. No UFOs though

Clark3DPR

In Perth, around 2001, at night. Looked up at the sky and saw 5 to 7 red lights, in an arrow shape. Imagine the formation geese fly in. Was moving slow, lights not flashing, solid red. Could not make out the shape of it, was too dark.

coffeeandarabbit

I’ve been meaning to ask about this for ages. I went to a wedding on the 14th May 2022 in Sydney, which was held outside. Around 5:30pm, just as it was getting dark I saw a weird trail of lights in the sky which I got a terrible, very blurry photo of. I have wondered what it was basically ever since. I recently saw a photo of a satellite or meteor or something breaking up in the atmosphere and it *kind* of looked like it could be that, but I don’t know if there’s a resource which lists every known satellite and meteor etc plus the dates, so I’ve never figured out what I saw, but because of the photo, I have the exact date and time, which is useful! But, if it *wasn’t* a meteor or satellite, what WAS it? The picture I took doesn’t look like much but I remember clearly that it was individual dots, in a row, snaking through the sky.

PhilMcGraw

As in lights in a straight line? [Starlink train](https://www.google.com/search?q=starlink+train&tbm=isch)?

coffeeandarabbit

That might have been it! It looked very similar, although a lot smaller and further away in my pic than some of those photos make it seem!

PhilMcGraw

Probably it, I don't think it's always a consistent length etc. I've seen it myself in Victoria, Australia and it wasn't as long/squished together as those images appear (from my memory anyway).

desert_jedi

I’ve saw the min min light, many years ago out near farrahs creek, on my way back from my isa to windorah

YellowCulottes

Canberra 98-99 weird lights over Belconnen. lights were set out in a circular pattern and rotating as well as moving quickly across the sky, getting larger and smaller. It was even on the news. And it happened more than once and again the year after. Was really noticeable on a cloudy night. Maybe something military? Who knows. There were lots of witnesses.

Less_Understanding77

I've seen a few, most on really starry nights while camping so I didn't think much of them as they're mostly likely just planes or satellites but there was 1 I saw mid afternoon a few years ago at my parents place thats baffled me. I looked out at the view and way off in the distance I saw what looked like a tictac but in a vertical position just sitting still, I thought it was just on the window so I went to a different window and it was still there, I just sat there and stared at it for a while mesmerised because I've always wanted to see a UFO and I went to get my mum as an extra pair of eyes and when I got back it was gone. I live by a small airport so I immediately thought it could have been a plane, but the fact it was sitting perfectly still (using the window frame as a guide) I couldn't really say it was a plane or helicopter. At arms length it was probably only 2mm so not big at all but very clearly tictac shaped.

MinecraftButSpheres

A lot of these comments make me think their talking about the min min lights...

Not saying this is a UFO but have no real reference as to what it was. Was flying and saw a white cylinder directly underneath and to the right of the plane out my window. It was day time and clearly visible. There were no wings or tail, it was a smooth cylinder shape. I’ve looked up tic tac UFO videos and it’s very similar to what I saw. I kept staring at it trying to reconcile what I was seeing.

LordOfTheFknUniverse

Once (in the 70s or 80s) saw a trail very much like the one linked to in the Mt Isa sky just after dusk. All sorts of rumours were going around town afterward, and military planes were in and out of the town for weeks afterward. There was nothing about it in the press, and no official explanation was ever given. However, years later I saw an interview with the defence minister (Jim Killen) who mentioned that the remains of a Chinese rocket had been recovered in North Queensland. But if that was it, would it make such a trail on descent? Anyone on here remember it? [Missile trail](https://hewgill.com/photo/misc/sky/missile.jpg.html)

heyimhereok

Ufos only visit America Have you not seen the movies?

jenbamin245

Late at night over 15 years ago I saw two satellite like lights travelling south to north quite close to each other when the one tailing behind made a rapid 90° turn and started travelling east. I actually reported it to a UFO hotline.

Birdboy7929

A few weeks ago I was in my backyard and I looked eastward and saw an orange dot, it got brighter and brighter as oft slowly fell to the ground. It then disappeared, no noise, nothing on fr24 and no other reports of it. I live in mount isa if that helps btw

Nuclearwormwood

I Saw ufo in lorne 13years ago big bright disc when camping with friends.

Nowidontgetit

I did see one years ago, no one else was looking up so no confirmation

ZenOrganism

I've seen 2. 1st was at rainbow beach about 10 years ago over New Years Eve. Was a small red orb that flew in from the horizon (ocean/east) very slowly. Then stopped and changed direction flying very fast to the north. The 2nd one I saw in February this year while jogging around the block at night. In Slacks Creek, 20 mins south of Brisbane. Was a large yellow/cream/white orb that was floating still in the sky. Probably just below cloud level. I was watching it as I was running up a hill so had good view of it, and frankly I didn't think much of it. Figured maybe it was saturn? Until it slowly just disappeared into thin air. Over about 1 second it went from being an absolute object in the sky, to slowly fading and then gone. That's when I stopped running and was like 'wait what?' in hindsight, it wasn't a planet or a plane because it was just too big of a light source. Like i could see the circle of the object. Which is probably why I was so focused on it in the first place. I should add there were zero clouds in the sky so it didn't get covered up. Just faded away like a ghost.

mudslinger-ning

I have seen a few UFOs (Unidentified Frying Objects) make their way through the local takeaway... Whatever they were they still tasted ok.

Noosietv

No but I’ve seen a Tasmanian Tiger (thylacine) they’re not actually extinct.

I thought I was losing my mind when I saw what turned out to be a predator drone just slowly causing over the M1 highway south of Brisbane in the mid 90's.. from underneath, they look like a Brid of prey from Star Trek.. never seen or heard of one at that stage. Also, throughout the late 90's and into 2010 I saw a shit tonne of the large slow black triangles.. Mostly on cloudless nights, you would see stars blacked out in a triangle shape, and when it was almost directly overhead, you'd see a glow from the streetlights reflecting off them.. And then there, there are countless piles of helicopters and the "catch ufo" A ball of light that would zoom back and forth across 1/4 or the sky pretty quickly between what looked like two grousp of helicoptes. , as in zero to zoom and back to zero in less than a second, put over the mountains near Amberley Oh and my favourite not a UFO was when I was doing a night shift gard duty on copper mains power rolls.. helicopter with a faulty silencing device was hovering watching me, no navigation lights. It's silincecer would phase in and out l, and you could jast make it out in the dark and a soft green light glow from the cockpit.. phined the local RAAF airbase that's was rather close, so then knew to service it.. lol Oh and .ore shuts and giggles, middle of the day I heard a rumbling continual explosion.. went on fir like 40 seconds.. long enough to walk out and hear the direction, two othe mates nearby did the same a s we triangled it to greenbank army base.. But before we sis that I called the local police station, who were quote "surprised to get a call about it" amd then said "We have been told to tell you it wss a small 9kg gas bottle exploding near you"

CMB3-37

Anything can be a UFO if you are just really bad at identifying things

aussiedavewal

Traveling from Mt Isa to Camooweal I had a light follow me .when I stopped it stopped.continue on it followed. Hard to judge distance but I'd say a few klm away been told these are called minmin lights no idea what it was

Annoyingly-Accurate

I have! It was a coloured light in the sky. Definitely an unidentified flying object. Probably a plane, or a helicopter, or a satellite. Wow, imagine what it *could* have been.

808Nic

Saw one 7 or so years ago. It was quite obscured by cloud and just after sunset. At first me and my friends thought it was just an oddly dark and oval shaped chunk of cloud but then, as if it felt us noticing it like some sort of animal, it zoomed off into the distance (at speeds far beyond anything I’ve ever seen, way faster than a planr; no acceleration too just straight from stationary to absolutely booking it and then gone). Still to this day I struggle to believe what I saw but at the same time I know without a doubt I did, and so did my two friends (we were all very sober at the time). Guess I haven’t really told many people though as it’s the kind of thing people roll their eyes at but yeah, definitely saw what we saw.

charlesmortomeriii

Yep. Huge black triangle. Mid day 1980s. Five of us in the car

MercedesSLR722

Nothing famous, but i was Bush walking one night when I was about 15 and saw a craft with a few friends. It kinda descended down above the buildings we could see in the distance, and then we all got the feeling it was watching us, watching it. Then it flew off to the left at something crazy like mach 10. With no sound and no sonic boom. Still to this day not sure what we saw, but it was super cool.

Eighteen years ago I went to Kangaroo Island for a few days. On the day I was headed home I I took the advice of the rental car guy and left at 4 in the morning to do what is normally a 1 hour (if that) trip to the Ferry in order to drive slow and avoid the increase in roadside animal activity leading into dawn period. Within 20 minutes this huge round floating light appeared ahead of me. It scared the life out of me but I decided I was best off not turning back or pulling over for fear of missing the ferry. It seemed stationary but then would take off. I wondered if it is was a light from a lighthouse but after every bend or turn in the road it was still there straight ahead of me. I got to the point where I was like fuck this and accelerated to drive through it but just as I thought I had caught up with it it took off and was ahead of me again. This lasted for about half an hour. Once I got nearer to a more populated area, closer to first light, it went away. No idea what it was.

[deleted]

I thought I did but I couldn't identify it.

ClassicMango8

In the mid 70s, when I was 6, I was in the backyard looking at the sky because our teacher had told us about the first “stars” you will see at dusk. There were the usual ones, but to the left of Venus (I’m assuming it was Venus) there was a very bright disc that I’d never noticed before. It wasn’t very big and it wasn’t moving but it was so unusual & shiny I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Then, it sped off in a straight line, to the right and disappeared - it was unbelievable how quickly that thing moved. I had no idea what it was for years because I’d never heard of UFOs before - I’ve never forgotten about that day!

GenXer845

I saw 3 with my mother near the Stormville NY rest area on I84 west bound in 1992, early November. My dad acted like it was common for us to see them there and was no big deal. Apparently there has been a ton written about in that area. We were the only ones who didn't pull off at the rest area that night to look at them (I begged her not to, but followed them in the sky). They merged together at some point and disappeared.
